Al director musical. Salmo de David.

11 En el Señor hallo refugio.
    ¿Cómo, pues, os atrevéis a decirme:
    «Huye al monte, como las aves»?
Ved cómo tensan sus arcos los malvados:
    preparan las flechas sobre la cuerda
    para disparar desde las sombras
    contra los rectos de corazón.
Cuando los fundamentos son destruidos,
    ¿qué le queda al justo?

El Señor está en su santo templo,
    en los cielos tiene el Señor su trono,
y atentamente observa al ser humano;
    con sus propios ojos lo examina.
El Señor examina a justos y a malvados,
    y aborrece a los que aman la violencia.
Hará llover sobre los malvados
    ardientes brasas y candente azufre;
    ¡un viento abrasador será su suerte!

Justo es el Señor, y ama la justicia;
    por eso los íntegros contemplarán su rostro.

11 In the Lord put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?

For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.

If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

Faith in the Lord’s Righteousness

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

11 In (A)the Lord I put my trust;
How can you say to my soul,
“Flee as a bird to your mountain”?
For look! (B)The wicked bend their bow,
They make ready their arrow on the string,
That they may shoot [a]secretly at the upright in heart.
(C)If the foundations are destroyed,
What can the righteous do?

The Lord is in His holy temple,
The Lord’s (D)throne is in heaven;
(E)His eyes behold,
His eyelids test the sons of men.
The Lord (F)tests the righteous,
But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.
Upon the wicked He will rain coals;
Fire and brimstone and a burning wind
(G)Shall be [b]the portion of their cup.

For the Lord is righteous,
He (H)loves righteousness;
[c]His countenance beholds the upright.
