1 Hãy ca ngợi Chúa, hỡi linh hồn ta!
Lạy Chúa, Ðức Chúa Trời của con, Ngài thật vĩ đại thay!
Ngài mặc bằng sự huy hoàng và sự uy nghi.
2 Ngài bao phủ mình bằng ánh sáng như chiếc áo choàng;
Ngài giăng các tầng trời ra như căng một cái trại.
3 Ngài đặt các đà ngang cho các thiên cung của Ngài trên nước;
Ngài dùng mây làm xa giá;
Ngài bước đi trên cánh gió;
4 Ngài dùng gió làm các sứ giả Ngài,
Lửa hừng làm bầy tôi hầu hạ Ngài.
5 Ngài đặt trái đất trên nền của nó,
Ðể đến đời đời nó chẳng chuyển lay.
6 Ngài bao phủ đất bằng biển sâu như phủ một chiếc áo;
Các nguồn nước lại đứng trên các ngọn núi cao.
7 Khi Ngài quở trách, chúng thất kinh chạy trốn;
Nghe tiếng sấm sét của Ngài, chúng vụt chạy cho xa.
8 Núi đồi trồi lên, thung lũng sụp xuống,
Ðúng vào nơi Ngài định cho chúng.
9 Ngài định giới hạn để nước không thể vượt qua,
Hầu không được phủ ngập mặt đất nữa.
10 Trong các thung lũng Ngài ban các dòng nước ngọt;
Chúng lượn quanh tuôn chảy giữa núi đồi;
11 Chúng cung cấp thức uống cho mọi sinh vật trong đồng;
Nhờ chúng những lừa rừng được thỏa mãn cơn khát.
12 Bên cạnh chúng chim trời làm tổ,
Cất tiếng hót ca giữa các cành cây.
13 Từ thiên cung Ngài đổ nước xuống tưới các núi rừng;
Trái đất được no nê nhờ bông trái của công việc Ngài.
14 Ngài khiến cỏ xanh mọc lên cho súc vật,
Và rau trái sinh ra để phục vụ loài người;
Từ ruộng đất người ta có thể đem về cho mình thực phẩm,
15 Rồi chế thành rượu để uống cho lòng vui vẻ,
Chế thành dầu để xức cho mặt mày tươi sáng,
Và làm cơm bánh để ăn cho vững mạnh lòng người.
16 Những cây cối của Chúa đều được nước uống no nê,
Kể cả những cây bá hương Ngài đã trồng ở Li-băng,
17 Cùng những cây cối khác, nơi các chim trời làm tổ,
Luôn cả những cây bách, nơi chim hạc chọn làm nhà.
18 Ngài dựng nên những núi cao cho các dê rừng làm chỗ ở;
Các gành đá cheo leo cho các chuột núi nương thân.
19 Ngài dựng nên mặt trăng để ấn định các mùa;
Còn mặt trời tự biết khi nào lặn xuống.
20 Ngài dựng nên bóng tối, và nó trở thành ban đêm;
Ấy là khi các thú rừng đi ra săn mồi.
21 Các sư tử tơ gầm rống tìm mồi,
Và tìm kiếm thức ăn từ Ðức Chúa Trời.
22 Ðến khi mặt trời mọc lên chúng lại rút về,
Và nằm xuống trong hang.
23 Người ta đi ra làm việc,
Và làm lụng cho đến hoàng hôn.
24 Chúa ôi, công việc của Ngài thật nhiều thay!
Ngài đã dựng nên tất cả bằng sự khôn ngoan của Ngài;
Trái đất đầy dẫy muôn vật do Ngài dựng nên.
25 Kìa là đại dương sâu rộng mênh mông,
Trong đó chứa nhung nhúc biết bao sinh vật;
Thật là vô sốsinh vật lớn và nhỏ.
26 Rồi cũng có các ghe thuyền tàu bè qua lại,
Và con quái vật[a] Ngài đã dựng nên đùa chơi trong đó.
27 Tất cả đều trông chờ nơi Ngài,
Ðể Ngài ban cho chúng vật thực phải thì.
28 Khi Ngài cho ăn, chúng liền tụ lại;
Khi Ngài sè tay ra, chúng được ăn uống no nê.
29 Khi Ngài ẩn mặt, chúng hoảng kinh bối rối;
Khi Ngài lấy hơi thở chúng đi, chúng liền chết và trở về cát bụi.
30 Khi Ngài ban Thần Khí Ngài ra, chúng được dựng nên,
Và Ngài làm cho mặt đất mới lại.
31 Nguyện vinh hiển của Chúa còn đến đời đời.
Nguyện Chúa vui thích về các công việc Ngài.
32 Ngài nhìn vào trái đất, nó run lên lẩy bẩy;
Ngài đụng đến núi non, chúng bốc khói mịt mù.
33 Hễ tôi còn sống bao lâu, tôi sẽ ca tụng Chúa bấy lâu;
Hễ tôi còn sống chừng nào, tôi sẽ ca ngợi Ðức Chúa Trời tôi chừng nấy.
34 Nguyện những suy nghĩ của tôi được đẹp lòng Ngài;
Về phần tôi, tôi sẽ cứ vui mừng trong Chúa.
35 Nguyện những kẻ tội lỗi bị diệt trừ khỏi mặt đất;
Nguyện những kẻ ác không còn nữa.
Hãy chúc tụng Chúa, hỡi linh hồn ta,
Hãy ca ngợi Chúa!

104 Benedici il Signore, anima mia,
Signore, mio Dio, quanto sei grande!
Rivestito di maestà e di splendore,
2 avvolto di luce come di un manto.
Tu stendi il cielo come una tenda,
3 costruisci sulle acque la tua dimora,
fai delle nubi il tuo carro,
cammini sulle ali del vento;
4 fai dei venti i tuoi messaggeri,
delle fiamme guizzanti i tuoi ministri.
5 Hai fondato la terra sulle sue basi,
mai potrà vacillare.
6 L'oceano l'avvolgeva come un manto,
le acque coprivano le montagne.
7 Alla tua minaccia sono fuggite,
al fragore del tuo tuono hanno tremato.
8 Emergono i monti, scendono le valli
al luogo che hai loro assegnato.
9 Hai posto un limite alle acque: non lo passeranno,
non torneranno a coprire la terra.
10 Fai scaturire le sorgenti nelle valli
e scorrono tra i monti;
11 ne bevono tutte le bestie selvatiche
e gli ònagri estinguono la loro sete.
12 Al di sopra dimorano gli uccelli del cielo,
cantano tra le fronde.
13 Dalle tue alte dimore irrighi i monti,
con il frutto delle tue opere sazi la terra.
14 Fai crescere il fieno per gli armenti
e l'erba al servizio dell'uomo,
perché tragga alimento dalla terra:
15 il vino che allieta il cuore dell'uomo;
l'olio che fa brillare il suo volto
e il pane che sostiene il suo vigore.
16 Si saziano gli alberi del Signore,
i cedri del Libano da lui piantati.
17 Là gli uccelli fanno il loro nido
e la cicogna sui cipressi ha la sua casa.
18 Per i camosci sono le alte montagne,
le rocce sono rifugio per gli iràci.
19 Per segnare le stagioni hai fatto la luna
e il sole che conosce il suo tramonto.
20 Stendi le tenebre e viene la notte
e vagano tutte le bestie della foresta;
21 ruggiscono i leoncelli in cerca di preda
e chiedono a Dio il loro cibo.
22 Sorge il sole, si ritirano
e si accovacciano nelle tane.
23 Allora l'uomo esce al suo lavoro,
per la sua fatica fino a sera.
24 Quanto sono grandi, Signore,
le tue opere!
Tutto hai fatto con saggezza,
la terra è piena delle tue creature.
25 Ecco il mare spazioso e vasto:
lì guizzano senza numero
animali piccoli e grandi.
26 Lo solcano le navi,
il Leviatàn che hai plasmato
perché in esso si diverta.
27 Tutti da te aspettano
che tu dia loro il cibo in tempo opportuno.
28 Tu lo provvedi, essi lo raccolgono,
tu apri la mano, si saziano di beni.
29 Se nascondi il tuo volto, vengono meno,
togli loro il respiro, muoiono
e ritornano nella loro polvere.
30 Mandi il tuo spirito, sono creati,
e rinnovi la faccia della terra.
31 La gloria del Signore sia per sempre;
gioisca il Signore delle sue opere.
32 Egli guarda la terra e la fa sussultare,
tocca i monti ed essi fumano.
33 Voglio cantare al Signore finché ho vita,
cantare al mio Dio finché esisto.
34 A lui sia gradito il mio canto;
la mia gioia è nel Signore.
35 Scompaiano i peccatori dalla terra
e più non esistano gli empi.

1 Praise the Lord, my soul.(A)
Lord my God, you are very great;
you are clothed with splendor and majesty.(B)
2 The Lord wraps(C) himself in light(D) as with a garment;
he stretches(E) out the heavens(F) like a tent(G)
3 and lays the beams(H) of his upper chambers on their waters.(I)
He makes the clouds(J) his chariot(K)
and rides on the wings of the wind.(L)
4 He makes winds his messengers,[a](M)
flames of fire(N) his servants.
5 He set the earth(O) on its foundations;(P)
it can never be moved.
6 You covered it(Q) with the watery depths(R) as with a garment;
the waters stood(S) above the mountains.
7 But at your rebuke(T) the waters fled,
at the sound of your thunder(U) they took to flight;
8 they flowed over the mountains,
they went down into the valleys,
to the place you assigned(V) for them.
9 You set a boundary(W) they cannot cross;
never again will they cover the earth.
10 He makes springs(X) pour water into the ravines;
it flows between the mountains.
11 They give water(Y) to all the beasts of the field;
the wild donkeys(Z) quench their thirst.
12 The birds of the sky(AA) nest by the waters;
they sing among the branches.(AB)
13 He waters the mountains(AC) from his upper chambers;(AD)
the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work.(AE)
14 He makes grass grow(AF) for the cattle,
and plants for people to cultivate—
bringing forth food(AG) from the earth:
15 wine(AH) that gladdens human hearts,
oil(AI) to make their faces shine,
and bread that sustains(AJ) their hearts.
16 The trees of the Lord(AK) are well watered,
the cedars of Lebanon(AL) that he planted.
17 There the birds(AM) make their nests;
the stork has its home in the junipers.
18 The high mountains belong to the wild goats;(AN)
the crags are a refuge for the hyrax.(AO)
19 He made the moon to mark the seasons,(AP)
and the sun(AQ) knows when to go down.
20 You bring darkness,(AR) it becomes night,(AS)
and all the beasts of the forest(AT) prowl.
21 The lions roar for their prey(AU)
and seek their food from God.(AV)
22 The sun rises, and they steal away;
they return and lie down in their dens.(AW)
23 Then people go out to their work,(AX)
to their labor until evening.(AY)
24 How many are your works,(AZ) Lord!
In wisdom you made(BA) them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.(BB)
25 There is the sea,(BC) vast and spacious,
teeming with creatures beyond number—
living things both large and small.(BD)
26 There the ships(BE) go to and fro,
and Leviathan,(BF) which you formed to frolic(BG) there.(BH)
27 All creatures look to you
to give them their food(BI) at the proper time.
28 When you give it to them,
they gather it up;
when you open your hand,
they are satisfied(BJ) with good things.
29 When you hide your face,(BK)
they are terrified;
when you take away their breath,
they die and return to the dust.(BL)
30 When you send your Spirit,(BM)
they are created,
and you renew the face of the ground.
31 May the glory of the Lord(BN) endure forever;
may the Lord rejoice in his works(BO)—
32 he who looks at the earth, and it trembles,(BP)
who touches the mountains,(BQ) and they smoke.(BR)
33 I will sing(BS) to the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
34 May my meditation be pleasing to him,
as I rejoice(BT) in the Lord.
35 But may sinners vanish(BU) from the earth
and the wicked be no more.(BV)
