上帝是至高的統治者
97 耶和華掌權，大地要歡欣！
眾海島要快樂！
2 密雲和黑暗環繞在祂周圍，
公義和公平是祂寶座的根基。
3 烈火做祂的先鋒，
燒滅祂周圍的仇敵。
4 祂的閃電照亮世界，
大地因此而戰抖。
5 在天下之主耶和華面前，
群山如蠟熔化。
6 諸天述說祂的公義，
萬民瞻仰祂的榮耀。
7 願一切祭拜神像，
以神像誇口的人都蒙羞。
所有的神明啊，
你們都要向耶和華下拜。
8 耶和華啊，聽見你的審判，
錫安就歡喜，
猶大的城邑就快樂。
9 因為你耶和華是普天下的至高者，
凌駕於萬神之上。
10 愛耶和華的人都要憎恨罪惡，
因為祂保護敬虔人的生命，
從惡人手中拯救他們。
11 光照亮義人，
正直人心中有喜樂。
12 你們義人要以耶和華為樂，
稱謝祂的聖名。

97 The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.
2 Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.
3 A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.
4 His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.
5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.
7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.
8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O Lord.
9 For thou, Lord, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.
10 Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

Glädje över Herrens allmakt
1 Herren är konung!
Därför må jorden fröjda sig
och alla havsländer glädja sig.
2 Moln och töcken omger honom,
rättfärdighet och rätt är hans trons grundval.
3 Eld går framför honom
och förtär hans fiender runt omkring.
4 Hans blixtar lyser upp världen,
jorden ser det och bävar.
5 Bergen smälter som vax inför Herren,
inför hela jordens Herre.
6 Himlarna förkunnar hans rättfärdighet,
och alla folk ser hans härlighet.
7 På skam skall alla de komma
som dyrkar avgudabilder
och skryter med sina maktlösa gudar.
Alla gudar skall tillbe honom.
8 Sion hör det och gläder sig,
Juda döttrar jublar över dina domar, Herre.
9 Ty du, Herre, är den Högste över hela jorden,
högt upphöjd över alla gudar.
10 Ni som älskar Herren, hata det onda.
Han bevarar sina frommas själar,
ur de ogudaktigas hand räddar han dem.
11 Ljus strålar fram[a] för den rättfärdige
och glädje för de rättsinniga.
12 Gläd er, ni rättfärdiga, i Herren,
prisa hans heliga namn!

let the distant shores(C) rejoice.
2 Clouds(D) and thick darkness(E) surround him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.(F)
3 Fire(G) goes before(H) him
and consumes(I) his foes on every side.
4 His lightning(J) lights up the world;
the earth(K) sees and trembles.(L)
5 The mountains melt(M) like wax(N) before the Lord,
before the Lord of all the earth.(O)
6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness,(P)
and all peoples see his glory.(Q)
7 All who worship images(R) are put to shame,(S)
those who boast in idols(T)—
worship him,(U) all you gods!(V)
8 Zion hears and rejoices
and the villages of Judah are glad(W)
because of your judgments,(X) Lord.
9 For you, Lord, are the Most High(Y) over all the earth;(Z)
you are exalted(AA) far above all gods.
10 Let those who love the Lord hate evil,(AB)
for he guards(AC) the lives of his faithful ones(AD)
and delivers(AE) them from the hand of the wicked.(AF)

and joy on the upright in heart.(AI)
12 Rejoice in the Lord,(AJ) you who are righteous,
