自幼恃主求其扶助
71 耶和華啊，我投靠你，求你叫我永不羞愧。
2 求你憑你的公義搭救我，救拔我；側耳聽我，拯救我。
3 求你做我常住的磐石，你已經命定要救我，因為你是我的巖石，我的山寨。
4 我的神啊，求你救我脫離惡人的手，脫離不義和殘暴之人的手。
5 主耶和華啊，你是我所盼望的，從我年幼你是我所倚靠的。
6 我從出母胎被你扶持，使我出母腹的是你，我必常常讚美你。
7 許多人以我為怪，但你是我堅固的避難所。
8 你的讚美，你的榮耀，終日必滿了我的口。
9 我年老的時候，求你不要丟棄我；我力氣衰弱的時候，求你不要離棄我。
10 我的仇敵議論我，那些窺探要害我命的彼此商議，
11 說：「神已經離棄他，我們追趕他，捉拿他吧！因為沒有人搭救。」
12 神啊，求你不要遠離我！我的神啊，求你速速幫助我！
13 願那與我性命為敵的羞愧被滅，願那謀害我的受辱蒙羞。
述其公義救恩大能奇行
14 我卻要常常盼望，並要越發讚美你。
15 我的口終日要述說你的公義和你的救恩，因我不計其數。
16 我要來說主耶和華大能的事，我單要提說你的公義。
17 神啊，自我年幼時你就教訓我，直到如今我傳揚你奇妙的作為。
18 神啊，我到年老髮白的時候，求你不要離棄我，等我將你的能力指示下代，將你的大能指示後世的人。
19 神啊，你的公義甚高；行過大事的神啊，誰能像你？
20 你是叫我們多經歷重大急難的，必使我們復活，從地的深處救上來。
21 求你使我越發昌大，又轉來安慰我。
22 我的神啊，我要鼓瑟稱讚你，稱讚你的誠實！以色列的聖者啊，我要彈琴歌頌你！
23 我歌頌你的時候，我的嘴唇和你所贖我的靈魂都必歡呼。
24 並且我的舌頭必終日講論你的公義，因為那些謀害我的人已經蒙羞受辱了。

Bön om hjälp i ålderdomen
1 Till dig, Herre, tar jag min tillflykt,
låt mig aldrig komma på skam.
2 Rädda mig och befria mig genom din rättfärdighet,
vänd ditt öra till mig och fräls mig.
3 Var en klippa för mig där jag kan bo,
dit jag alltid kan komma,
du som givit befallning om min frälsning,
du mitt bergfäste och min borg.
4 Min Gud, befria mig ur den ogudaktiges våld,
ur den orättfärdiges och förtryckarens hand.
5 Ty du är mitt hopp, Herre,
min förtröstan, Herre, allt ifrån min ungdom.
6 Du har varit mitt stöd ända från moderlivet,
du har förlöst mig ur min moders liv,
dig gäller alltid mitt lov.
7 Jag har blivit ett tecken för många,
och du är min starka tillflykt.
8 Låt min mun vara full av ditt lov,
hela dagen av din ära.
9 Förkasta mig inte när jag blir gammal,
överge mig inte när min kraft tynar bort!
10 Ty mina fiender talar mot mig,
de som vaktar på min själ rådslår med varandra och säger:
11 "Gud har övergivit honom,
förfölj och grip honom,
det finns ingen som räddar honom!"
12 Gud, var inte långt ifrån mig!
Min Gud, skynda till min hjälp!
13 Låt min själs fiender
komma på skam och gå under.
Låt dem som önskar mig olycka
höljas i förakt och vanära.
14 Men jag skall alltid hoppas
och prisa dig, om och om igen.
15 Min mun skall förkunna din rättfärdighet,
din frälsning dagen lång,
fastän jag inte har ord till fullo.
16 Jag skall komma i Herrens, Herrens väldiga kraft,
jag skall prisa din rättfärdighet, endast din.
17 Gud, du har undervisat mig ända från min ungdom,
och intill nu förkunnar jag dina under.
18 Överge mig inte, Gud,
när jag blir gammal och grå,
inte förrän jag fått förkunna om dina gärningar[a] för nya släkten,
om din makt för alla som skall komma.
19 Din rättfärdighet, Gud, når upp till himlen.
Du som har gjort så stora ting,
Gud, vem är dig lik?
20 Du som har låtit oss se så mycket av nöd och olycka,
du skall åter göra oss levande,
åter föra oss upp ur jordens djup.
21 Föröka du min storhet
och trösta mig igen,
22 så vill jag tacka dig med spel på psaltare
för din trofasthet, min Gud,
jag vill lovsjunga dig till harpa,
du Israels Helige.
23 Mina läppar skall jubla,
när jag lovsjunger dig,
ja, min själ som du har friköpt.
24 Min tunga skall hela dagen
tala om din rättfärdighet,
ty de som önskade mig olycka
kommer på skam och måste blygas.

71 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
2 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me.
3 Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.
4 Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
5 For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth.
6 By thee have I been holden up from the womb: thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: my praise shall be continually of thee.
7 I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.
8 Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day.
9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.
10 For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,
11 Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.
12 O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.
13 Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt.
14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.
15 My mouth shall shew forth thy righteousness and thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers thereof.
16 I will go in the strength of the Lord God: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.
17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.
18 Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.
19 Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!
20 Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
21 Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.
22 I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.
23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
24 My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.

1 In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;(B)
let me never be put to shame.(C)
2 In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me;
turn your ear(D) to me and save me.
3 Be my rock of refuge,
to which I can always go;
give the command to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.(E)
4 Deliver(F) me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,(G)
from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel.(H)
5 For you have been my hope,(I) Sovereign Lord,
my confidence(J) since my youth.
6 From birth(K) I have relied on you;
you brought me forth from my mother’s womb.(L)
I will ever praise(M) you.
7 I have become a sign(N) to many;
you are my strong refuge.(O)
8 My mouth(P) is filled with your praise,
declaring your splendor(Q) all day long.
9 Do not cast(R) me away when I am old;(S)

though I know not how to relate them all.

I will proclaim your righteous deeds, yours alone.

18 Even when I am old and gray,(AK)
do not forsake me, my God,
till I declare your power(AL) to the next generation,
your mighty acts to all who are to come.(AM)
19 Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens,(AN)

many and bitter,
