祈求上帝保護
可拉後裔作的訓誨詩，交給樂長。
44 上帝啊，
我們親耳聽過祖先講述你在古時，
在我們祖先時代的作為。
2 你親手趕出外族，
把我們的祖先安置在那裡；
你擊潰列邦，
使我們的祖先興旺發達。
3 他們不是靠自己的刀劍征服那裡，
不是靠自己的臂膀得勝，
而是靠你的權能、力量和恩惠，
因為你愛他們。
4 你是我的君王，我的上帝；
你讓雅各得勝。
5 我們靠你擊退敵人，
靠你的名踐踏仇敵。
6 我不倚靠我的弓，
我的劍不能使我得勝。
7 只有你使我們戰勝敵人，
使我們的仇敵蒙羞。
8 上帝啊，我們終日以你為榮，
我們永遠讚美你。（細拉）
9 現在你卻丟棄我們，
讓我們受辱，
不再幫我們的軍隊作戰。
10 你使我們在仇敵面前敗退，
遭敵人擄掠。
11 你使我們如被宰殺的羊，
將我們分散在列國。
12 你把我們廉價賣掉，
視我們一文不值。
13 你使我們遭四鄰辱罵，
被周圍人譏諷、嘲笑。
14 你使我們成為列國的笑柄，
人們對我們連連搖頭。
15 我終日受辱，滿面羞愧，
16 因為咒罵和譭謗我的人譏笑我，仇敵報復我。
17 雖然這一切臨到我們身上，
我們卻沒有忘記你，
也沒有違背你的約。
18 我們對你沒有異心，
也沒有偏離你的道路。
19 你在豺狼出沒的地方壓碎我們，
使死亡的陰影籠罩我們。

21 上帝怎會不知道呢？

King James Version
44 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.
2 How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.
3 For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
4 Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.
5 Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
7 But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.
8 In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.
9 But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.
10 Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.
11 Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.
12 Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.
13 Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
14 Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.
15 My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
16 For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.
17 All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.
18 Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;
19 Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.
20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
21 Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
23 Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.
24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
26 Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake.

44 För sångmästaren; av Koras söner; en sång.
2 Gud, med våra öron hava vi hört, våra fäder hava förtäljt därom för oss: om den gärning du gjorde i deras dagar, i forntidens dagar.
3 Det var du som med din hand utrotade hedningarna, men planterade dem; du fördärvade andra folk, men dem lät du utbreda sig.
4 Ty icke med sitt svärd intogo de landet, och deras egen arm gav dem icke seger, utan din högra hand och din arm och ditt ansiktes ljus, ty du hade behag till dem.
5 Du, densamme, är min konung, o Gud; så tillsäg nu Jakob seger.
6 Med din hjälp kunna vi stöta ned våra ovänner och i ditt namn förtrampa våra motståndare.
7 Ty icke på min båge förlitar jag mig, och mitt svärd kan icke giva mig seger;
8 nej, du giver oss seger över våra ovänner, och dem som hata oss låter du komma på skam.
9 Gud lova vi alltid, och ditt namn prisa vi evinnerligen. Sela.
10 Och dock har du nu förkastat oss och låtit oss varda till blygd, och du drager icke ut med våra härar.
11 Du låter oss vika tillbaka för ovånnen, och de som hata oss taga sig byte.
12 Du låter oss bliva uppätna såsom får, och bland hedningarna han du förstrött oss.
13 Du säljer ditt folk för ett ringa pris, stor är icke den vinst du har gjort därpå.
14 Du låter oss bliva till smälek för våra grannar, till spott och hån för dem som bo omkring oss.
15 Du gör oss till ett ordspråk bland hedningarna, du låter folken skaka huvudet åt oss.
16 Hela dagen är min smälek inför mig, och blygsel höljer mitt ansikte,
17 när jag hör smädarens och lastarens tal, när jag ser fienden och den hämndgirige.
18 Allt detta har kommit över oss, och vi hava dock icke förgätit dig, ej heller svikit ditt förbund.
19 Våra hjärtan avföllo icke, och våra steg veko ej av ifrån din väg,
20 så att du därför har krossat oss i schakalers land och övertäckt oss med dödsskugga.
21 Om vi hade förgätit vår Guds namn och uträckt våra händer till en främmande gud,
22 månne icke Gud skulle hava utrannsakat det, han som känner hjärtats lönnligheter?
23 Nej, för din skull varda vi dödade hela dagen och bliva aktade såsom slaktfår.
24 Vakna upp; varför sover du, Herre? Vakna, förkasta oss icke för alltid.
25 Varför döljer du ditt ansikte och förgäter vårt lidande och trångmål?
26 Se, vår själ är nedböjd i stoftet, vår kropp ligger nedtryckt till jorden.
27 Stå upp till vår hjälp, och förlossa oss för din nåds skull.
