A song for going up to worship.
1 I look up to you,
to the one who sits enthroned in heaven.
2 As servants depend on their masters,
as a maid depends on her mistress,
so we depend on Yahweh our Elohim
until he has pity on us.
3 Have pity on us, O Yahweh.
Have pity on us
because we have suffered more than our share of contempt.
4 We have suffered more than our share of ridicule
from those who are carefree.
We have suffered more than our share of contempt
from those who are arrogant.

123 Unto You (A)I lift up my eyes,
O You (B)who dwell in the heavens.
2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters,
As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress,
(C)So our eyes look to the Lord our God,
Until He has mercy on us.
3 Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us!
For we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
4 Our soul is exceedingly filled
With the scorn of those who are at ease,
With the contempt of the proud.

123 Para ti, que habitas nos céus, levanto os meus olhos. 2 Eis que, como os olhos dos servos atentam para as mãos do seu senhor, e os olhos da serva, para as mãos de sua senhora, assim os nossos olhos atentam para o Senhor, nosso Deus, até que tenha piedade de nós.
3 Tem piedade de nós, ó Senhor, tem piedade de nós, pois estamos assaz fartos de desprezo. 4 A nossa alma está sobremodo farta da zombaria daqueles que estão à sua vontade e do desprezo dos soberbos.

as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress,
so our eyes look to the Lord(B) our God,
till he shows us his mercy.
3 Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us,
for we have endured no end of contempt.
4 We have endured no end
of ridicule from the arrogant,
of contempt from the proud.
