A Davidic psalm

A Priestly Ruler

110 A declaration from the Lord[a] to my Lord:
    “Sit at my right hand
        until I make your enemies your footstool.”

When the Lord extends your mighty scepter from Zion,
    rule in the midst of your enemies.
Your soldiers[b] are willing volunteers on your day of battle;
    in majestic holiness, from the womb,
        from the dawn, the dew of your youth belongs to you.
The Lord took an oath and will never recant:
    “You are a priest forever,
        after the manner of Melchizedek.”

The Lord is at your right hand;
    he will utterly destroy kings in the time of his wrath.

He will execute judgment against the nations,
    filling graves[c] with corpses.
        He will utterly destroy leaders far and wide.
He will drink from a stream on the way,
    then hold his head high.

110 1-3 The word of God to my Lord:
    “Sit alongside me here on my throne
    until I make your enemies a stool for your feet.”
You were forged a strong scepter by God of Zion;
    now rule, though surrounded by enemies!
Your people will freely join you, resplendent in holy armor
    on the great day of your conquest,
Join you at the fresh break of day,
    join you with all the vigor of youth.

4-7 God gave his word and he won’t take it back:
    you’re the permanent priest, the Melchizedek priest.
The Lord stands true at your side,
    crushing kings in his terrible wrath,
Bringing judgment on the nations,
    handing out convictions wholesale,
    crushing opposition across the wide earth.
The King-Maker put his King on the throne;
    the True King rules with head held high!

Salmo de Davi.

110 O Senhor disse ao meu Senhor:[a]
“Sente-se no lugar de honra à minha direita,
até que eu humilhe seus inimigos
e os ponha debaixo de seus pés”.

O Senhor estenderá seu reino poderoso desde Sião;
você governará seus inimigos.
Quando você for à guerra,

O Senhor está à sua direita para protegê-lo;
esmagará muitos reis no dia de sua ira.
Castigarás as nações e encherá suas terras de cadáveres;
esmagará cabeças por todo o mundo.
Ele próprio, contudo, se refrescará em riachos ao longo do caminho;
ele será vitorioso.
