犹大作恶主必严惩
1 当犹大王亚们的儿子约西亚在位的时候，耶和华的话临到希西家的玄孙、亚玛利雅的曾孙、基大利的孙子、古示的儿子西番雅。
2 耶和华说：“我必从地上除灭万类。 3 我必除灭人和牲畜，与空中的鸟、海里的鱼，以及绊脚石和恶人。我必将人从地上剪除。”这是耶和华说的。 4 “我必伸手攻击犹大和耶路撒冷的一切居民，也必从这地方剪除所剩下的巴力，并基玛林的名和祭司， 5 与那些在房顶上敬拜天上万象的，并那些敬拜耶和华指着他起誓，又指着玛勒堪起誓的， 6 与那些转去不跟从耶和华的，和不寻求耶和华也不访问他的。”
7 你要在主耶和华面前静默无声，因为耶和华的日子快到。耶和华已经预备祭物，将他的客分别为圣。 8 “到了我耶和华献祭的日子，必惩罚首领和王子，并一切穿外邦衣服的。 9 到那日，我必惩罚一切跳过门槛，将强暴和诡诈得来之物充满主人房屋的。” 10 耶和华说：“当那日，从鱼门必发出悲哀的声音，从二城发出哀号的声音，从山间发出大破裂的响声。 11 玛革提施的居民哪，你们要哀号！因为迦南的商民都灭亡了，凡搬运银子的都被剪除。 12 那时，我必用灯巡查耶路撒冷，我必惩罚那些如酒在渣滓上澄清的，他们心里说：‘耶和华必不降福，也不降祸。’ 13 他们的财宝必成为掠物，他们的房屋必变为荒场。他们必建造房屋却不得住在其内，栽种葡萄园却不得喝所出的酒。”
14 耶和华的大日临近，临近而且甚快。乃是耶和华日子的风声，勇士必痛痛的哭号。 15 那日是愤怒的日子，是急难困苦的日子，是荒废凄凉的日子，是黑暗、幽冥、密云、乌黑的日子， 16 是吹角呐喊的日子，要攻击坚固城和高大的城楼。 17 “我必使灾祸临到人身上，使他们行走如同瞎眼的，因为得罪了我。他们的血必倒出如灰尘，他们的肉必抛弃如粪土。” 18 当耶和华发怒的日子，他们的金银不能救他们。他的愤怒如火，必烧灭全地，毁灭这地的一切居民，而且大大毁灭。

1 犹大王亚们的儿子约西亚执政期间，耶和华对希西迦的玄孙、亚玛利亚的曾孙、基大利的孙子、古示的儿子西番雅说：
耶和华审判的日子
2 “我必毁灭地上的一切。
这是耶和华说的。
3 我必毁灭人类、兽类、
天上的鸟和海里的鱼。
我必使恶人倒毙，
我必铲除地上的人类。
这是耶和华说的。
4 “我必伸手攻击犹大，
以及所有住在耶路撒冷的人，
铲除巴力的余迹及拜偶像之祭司的名号。
5 我必铲除那些在屋顶祭拜天上万象的人，
铲除敬拜我、凭我起誓又凭米勒公起誓的人，
6 铲除离弃我、不寻求我、不求问我的人。”
7 要在主耶和华面前肃静，
因为耶和华的日子近了。
耶和华已准备好祭物，
洁净了祂邀请的人。
8 耶和华说：“在我献祭的日子，
我必惩罚首领和王子，
以及所有穿外族服装的人。
9 到那日，我必惩罚所有跳过门槛[a]、
使主人的家充满暴力和欺诈的人。
10 到那日，鱼门必传出哭喊声，
新区必响起哀号声，
山陵必发出崩裂的巨响。
这是耶和华说的。
11 市场区的居民啊，哀哭吧！
因为所有的商人必灭亡，
所有做买卖的必被铲除。
12 那时，我必提着灯巡查耶路撒冷，
惩罚那些安于罪中的人。
他们心想，‘耶和华不赐福也不降祸。’
13 他们的财物必遭抢掠，
家园必沦为废墟。
他们建造房屋，却不能住在里面；
栽种葡萄园，却喝不到葡萄酒。
14 “耶和华的大日子近了，
近了，很快就到了。
那将是痛苦的日子，
勇士也必凄声哀号。
15 那是降烈怒的日子，
是困苦艰难的日子，
是摧残毁坏的日子，
是黑暗幽冥的日子，
是阴霾密布的日子，
16 是吹号呐喊、

17 “我要使人们灾难临头，

The Great Day of the Lord(A)
1 The word of the Lord which came to Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, in the days of (B)Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.
The Great Day of the Lord
2 “I will [a]utterly consume everything
From the face of the land,”
Says the Lord;
3 “I(C) will consume man and beast;
I will consume the birds of the heavens,
The fish of the sea,
And the [b]stumbling blocks along with the wicked.
I will cut off man from the face of the [c]land,”
Says the Lord.
4 “I will stretch out My hand against Judah,
And against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
[d]I will cut off every trace of Baal from this place,
The names of the (D)idolatrous[e] priests with the pagan priests—
5 Those (E)who worship the host of heaven on the housetops;
Those who worship and swear oaths by the Lord,
But who also swear (F)by [f]Milcom;
6 (G)Those who have turned back from following the Lord,
And (H)have not sought the Lord, nor inquired of Him.”
7 (I)Be silent in the presence of the Lord God;
(J)For the day of the Lord is at hand,
For (K)the Lord has prepared a sacrifice;
He has [g]invited His guests.
8 “And it shall be,
In the day of the Lord’s sacrifice,
That I will punish (L)the princes and the king’s children,
And all such as are clothed with foreign apparel.
9 In the same day I will punish
All those who (M)leap over the threshold,
Who fill their masters’ houses with violence and deceit.
10 “And there shall be on that day,” says the Lord,
“The sound of a mournful cry from (N)the Fish Gate,
A wailing from the Second Quarter,
And a loud crashing from the hills.
11 (O)Wail, you inhabitants of [h]Maktesh!
For all the merchant people are cut down;
All those who handle money are cut off.
12 “And it shall come to pass at that time
That I will search Jerusalem with lamps,
And punish the men
Who are (P)settled[i] in complacency,
(Q)Who say in their heart,
‘The Lord will not do good,
Nor will He do evil.’
13 Therefore their goods shall become booty,
And their houses a desolation;
They shall build houses, but not inhabit them;
They shall plant vineyards, but (R)not drink their wine.”
14 (S)The great day of the Lord is near;
It is near and hastens quickly.
The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter;
There the mighty men shall cry out.
15 (T)That day is a day of wrath,
A day of trouble and distress,
A day of devastation and desolation,
A day of darkness and gloominess,
A day of clouds and thick darkness,
16 A day of (U)trumpet and alarm
Against the fortified cities
And against the high towers.
17 “I will bring distress upon men,
And they shall (V)walk like blind men,
Because they have sinned against the Lord;
Their blood shall be poured out like dust,
And their flesh like refuse.”
18 (W)Neither their silver nor their gold
Shall be able to deliver them
In the day of the Lord’s wrath;
But the whole land shall be devoured
By the fire of His jealousy,
For He will make speedy riddance
Of all those who dwell in the land.
