18 But ever since we stopped burning incense to the Queen of Heaven and pouring out drink offerings(A) to her, we have had nothing and have been perishing by sword and famine.(B)”
19 The women added, “When we burned incense(C) to the Queen of Heaven(D) and poured out drink offerings to her, did not our husbands(E) know that we were making cakes(F) impressed with her image(G) and pouring out drink offerings to her?”
20 Then Jeremiah said to all the people, both men and women, who were answering him,

19 The women also said, (A)“And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven and poured out drink offerings to her, did we make cakes for her, to worship her, and pour out drink offerings to her without our husbands’ permission?”
20 Then Jeremiah spoke to all the people—the men, the women, and all the people who had given him that answer—saying:
