Jeremiah 2:7-9

7 (A)And I brought you into a plentiful land
    to enjoy its fruits and its good things.
But when you came in, (B)you defiled my land
    and made my heritage an abomination.
8 The priests did not say, ‘Where is the Lord?’
    (C)Those who handle the law did not know me;
(D)the shepherds[a] transgressed against me;
    (E)the prophets prophesied by Baal
    and went after (F)things that do not profit.
9 “Therefore (G)I still contend with you,
declares the Lord,
    and (H)with your children's children I will contend.

8 The priests said not, Where is the Lord? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
9 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the Lord, and with your children's children will I plead.
