随从圣灵而活
8 因此，如今那些在基督耶稣里的人不被定罪， 2 因为赐人生命之圣灵的律已经在基督耶稣里使我获得自由，脱离了罪与死的律。 3 律法因为人性软弱而无法成就的事，上帝亲自成就了。祂差遣自己的儿子成为和罪人一样有血有肉的人，作了赎罪祭，废掉了罪的权势， 4 使律法公义的要求实现在我们这些不随从罪恶本性，只随从圣灵而活的人身上。
5 随从罪恶本性的人顾念罪恶本性的事，但随从圣灵的人顾念圣灵的事。 6 顾念罪恶本性的人结局是死亡，但顾念圣灵的人却有生命和平安。 7 因为顾念罪恶本性的人与上帝为敌，不服从上帝的律法，也无力服从。 8 所以受罪恶本性控制的人无法令上帝喜悦。
9 但如果上帝的灵住在你们里面，你们就不再受制于罪恶的本性，而是受圣灵管理。人若没有基督的灵，就不属于基督。 10 如果基督在你们里面，你们的身体虽然因罪恶而死亡，灵魂却因上帝所赐的义而活着。 11 如果使耶稣复活之上帝的灵住在你们里面，叫基督耶稣从死里复活的上帝，必借着住在你们里面的圣灵，使你们终有一死的身体活过来。
12 弟兄姊妹，这样看来，我们不必随从罪恶本性活着。 13 你们若随从罪恶本性活着，必定死亡；但若靠着圣灵除去身体的恶行，就必活着。
14 因为凡有上帝的圣灵引导的人都是上帝的儿女。 15 你们接受的圣灵不是使你们做奴隶，仍旧害怕，而是使你们做儿子，可以称上帝为“阿爸，父亲”。 16 圣灵亲自与我们的心一同见证我们是上帝的儿女。 17 既然我们是儿女，就是继承人，是上帝的后嗣，并且与基督同做后嗣。所以，如果现在我们和基督一同受苦，将来也必和祂一同得荣耀。
将来的荣耀
18 我认为现在所受的痛苦与将来要显给我们的荣耀相比，简直微不足道。 19 受造之物正热切等候上帝众子的显现， 20 因为受造之物处在虚空之下并非出于情愿，而是出于上帝的旨意。 21 不过，受造之物仍然盼望脱离衰亡之律的奴役，享受上帝儿女荣耀的自由。 22 我们知道一切受造之物至今都在呻吟，如同经历分娩之痛。 23 不但如此，就是我们这些首先得到圣灵的人也在心里叹息，热切等候得到儿子的名分[a]，就是我们的身体得到救赎。 24 我们得救的人有这个盼望。不过，看得见的盼望根本不算盼望，因为谁会盼望已经看见的呢？ 25 但我们若盼望那尚未看见的，就会忍耐等候。
26 况且，我们软弱的时候，有圣灵帮助我们。我们本来不知道怎样祷告，但圣灵亲自用说不出来的叹息替我们祈祷。 27 洞悉人心的上帝知道圣灵的意思，因为圣灵是照着上帝的旨意替圣徒祈祷。
28 我们知道，上帝使万事互相效力[b]，使那些爱上帝，就是上帝按自己的旨意呼召的人得益处。 29 因为上帝预先知道谁是属祂的人，并预定这些人要被塑造成祂儿子的形象，使祂的儿子在许多弟兄中成为长子。 30 祂所预定的人，祂也呼召他们；祂所呼召的人，祂也称他们为义人；祂称为义人的，祂也使他们得荣耀。
上帝的爱
31 对于这些事，我们还可以说什么呢？上帝若帮助我们，谁能与我们对抗？ 32 上帝既然连自己的儿子也不顾惜，让祂为我们牺牲，岂不也把万物和祂一同白白地赐给我们吗？ 33 谁能指控上帝拣选的人呢？上帝已经称他们为义人了。 34 谁能定他们有罪呢？基督耶稣已经替他们死了，而且祂还从死里复活了，如今在上帝的右边替我们祈祷。 35 谁能使我们与基督的爱分离呢？难道是患难吗？困苦吗？迫害吗？饥饿吗？赤身露体吗？危险吗？刀剑吗？ 36 正如圣经上说：“为了你，我们终日出生入死，被视为待宰的羊。”
37 然而，靠着爱我们的主，我们在这一切事上已经得胜有余了。 38 因为我深信无论是死、是生，是天使、是鬼魔，是现在的事、是将来的事， 39 是高天之上的、是大地深处的或是其他受造之物，都不能使我们与上帝在主基督耶稣里赐下的爱分离。

18 λογιζομαι γαρ οτι ουκ αξια τα παθηματα του νυν καιρου προς την μελλουσαν δοξαν αποκαλυφθηναι εις ημας
19 η γαρ αποκαραδοκια της κτισεως την αποκαλυψιν των υιων του θεου απεκδεχεται
20 τη γαρ ματαιοτητι η κτισις υπεταγη ουχ εκουσα αλλα δια τον υποταξαντα επ ελπιδι
21 οτι και αυτη η κτισις ελευθερωθησεται απο της δουλειας της φθορας εις την ελευθεριαν της δοξης των τεκνων του θεου

23 ου μονον δε αλλα και αυτοι την απαρχην του πνευματος εχοντες και ημεις αυτοι εν εαυτοις στεναζομεν υιοθεσιαν απεκδεχομενοι την απολυτρωσιν του σωματος ημων
24 τη γαρ ελπιδι εσωθημεν ελπις δε βλεπομενη ουκ εστιν ελπις ο γαρ βλεπει τις τι και ελπιζει

26 ωσαυτως δε και το πνευμα συναντιλαμβανεται ταις ασθενειαις ημων το γαρ τι προσευξωμεθα καθο δει ουκ οιδαμεν αλλ αυτο το πνευμα υπερεντυγχανει υπερ ημων στεναγμοις αλαλητοις
27 ο δε ερευνων τας καρδιας οιδεν τι το φρονημα του πνευματος οτι κατα θεον εντυγχανει υπερ αγιων
28 οιδαμεν δε οτι τοις αγαπωσιν τον θεον παντα συνεργει εις αγαθον τοις κατα προθεσιν κλητοις ουσιν
29 οτι ους προεγνω και προωρισεν συμμορφους της εικονος του υιου αυτου εις το ειναι αυτον πρωτοτοκον εν πολλοις αδελφοις
30 ους δε προωρισεν τουτους και εκαλεσεν και ους εκαλεσεν τουτους και εδικαιωσεν ους δε εδικαιωσεν τουτους και εδοξασεν
31 τι ουν ερουμεν προς ταυτα ει ο θεος υπερ ημων τις καθ ημων
32 ος γε του ιδιου υιου ουκ εφεισατο αλλ υπερ ημων παντων παρεδωκεν αυτον πως ουχι και συν αυτω τα παντα ημιν χαρισεται
33 τις εγκαλεσει κατα εκλεκτων θεου θεος ο δικαιων
34 τις ο κατακρινων χριστος ο αποθανων μαλλον δε και εγερθεις ος και εστιν εν δεξια του θεου ος και εντυγχανει υπερ ημων
35 τις ημας χωρισει απο της αγαπης του χριστου θλιψις η στενοχωρια η διωγμος η λιμος η γυμνοτης η κινδυνος η μαχαιρα

38 πεπεισμαι γαρ οτι ουτε θανατος ουτε ζωη ουτε αγγελοι ουτε αρχαι ουτε δυναμεις ουτε ενεστωτα ουτε μελλοντα

8 Kaya nga, wala nang kahatulang parusa sa mga taong nakipag-isa na kay Cristo Jesus. 2 Sa pamamagitan ng kautusan ng Espiritung nagbibigay-buhay dahil sa pakikiisa natin kay Cristo-Jesus, pinalaya na ako[a] mula sa kautusan ng kasalanan at kamatayan. 3 Ginawa ng Diyos ang hindi kayang gawin ng Kautusan dahil sa kahinaan ng tao. Isinugo niya ang kanyang sariling Anak sa anyo ng taong makasalanan upang pawiin ang kasalanan. Sa gayon, hinatulan na niya ang kasalanang umaalipin sa tao. 4 Ginawa ito ng Diyos upang ang itinatakda ng Kautusan ay matupad sa atin na namumuhay ayon sa Espiritu at hindi ayon sa hilig ng laman.

12 Mga kapatid, wala tayong pananagutang sundin ang mga hilig ng laman upang mamuhay ayon sa katawang makalaman. 13 Sapagkat mamamatay kayo kung namumuhay kayo ayon sa katawang makalaman, ngunit kung pinapatay ninyo sa pamamagitan ng Espiritu ang mga gawa ng katawang makalaman, mabubuhay kayo. 14 Ang lahat ng pinapatnubayan ng Espiritu ng Diyos ay mga anak ng Diyos. 15 Sapagkat(B)(C) hindi espiritu ng pagkaalipin ang inyong tinanggap upang kayo'y mamuhay sa takot. Ang Kaluwalhatiang Sasaatin
18 Para(D) sa akin, ang mga pagtitiis natin sa kasalukuyan ay hindi maihahambing sa kaluwalhatiang ipahahayag sa atin balang araw. 19 Sapagkat nananabik ang sangnilikha na ihayag ng Diyos ang kanyang mga anak. 20 Nabigo(E) ang sangnilikha, hindi dahil sa kagustuhan nito, kundi dahil itinulot iyon ng Diyos. Gayunman, nagbigay rin siya ng pag-asa 21 na ang lahat ng nilikha ay pinalaya ng Diyos upang hindi na ito mabulok, at upang makabahagi ito sa maluwalhating kalayaan ng mga anak ng Diyos. 22 Alam nating hanggang ngayo'y dumaraing ang sangnilikha dahil sa matinding hirap na tulad ng isang nanganganak. 23 At(F) hindi lamang ang sangnilikha, kundi tayong mga tumanggap na ng Espiritu bilang unang kaloob mula sa Diyos ay dumaraing din habang hinihintay natin ang paghahayag ng ating pagiging mga anak ng Diyos at ang pagpapalaya sa ating mga katawan. 24 Naligtas tayo dahil sa pag-asang ito. 26 Gayundin naman, tinutulungan tayo ng Espiritu sa ating kahinaan sapagkat hindi tayo marunong manalangin nang nararapat, kaya't ang Espiritu ang namamagitan para sa atin, at dumaraing sa paraang hindi natin kayang sambitin. 27 At ang Diyos na siyang nakakasaliksik sa puso ng tao, ang siyang nakakaalam kung ano ang kalooban ng Espiritu, sapagkat ang Espiritu ang namamagitan para sa atin, ayon sa kalooban ng Diyos.
28 Alam nating sa lahat ng bagay ay gumagawa ang Diyos para sa mabuti kasama ang mga nagmamahal sa kanya,[b] silang mga tinawag ayon sa kanyang layunin. 29 Sapagkat sa mula't mula pa'y alam na ng Diyos kung sino ang magiging kanya at ang mga ito'y pinili niya upang maging katulad ng kanyang Anak. Sa gayon, siya ang naging panganay sa lahat ng maraming magkakapatid. 30 Ang mga pinili niya noon pang una ay kanyang tinawag; at ang mga tinawag ay kanya ring pinawalang-sala, at ang mga pinawalang-sala ay kanyang binahaginan ng kanyang kaluwalhatian.
Ang Pag-ibig ng Diyos
31 Ano pa ang masasabi natin tungkol dito? Kung ang Diyos ay panig sa atin, sino ang makakalaban sa atin? 32 Kung ang sarili niyang Anak ay hindi niya ipinagkait, sa halip ay ibinigay para sa ating lahat, hindi kaya niya ibibigay nang masagana sa atin ang lahat ng bagay? 33 Sino ang makakapagharap ng paratang laban sa mga hinirang ng Diyos, gayong ang Diyos ang nagpapawalang-sala sa kanila? 34 Sino ang hahatol upang sila'y parusahan? Si Cristo Jesus ba na namatay, ngunit higit sa lahat ay muling binuhay, at ngayon ay nasa kanan ng Diyos upang mamagitan para sa atin? 35 Sino ang makapaghihiwalay sa atin sa pag-ibig ni Cristo? Ang kaguluhan kaya, ang kapighatian, pag-uusig, pagkagutom, kahirapan, panganib, o kamatayan? 36 Ayon(G) sa nasusulat,
“Dahil sa inyo'y buong araw kaming pinapatay,
turing nila sa amin ay mga tupang kakatayin lamang.”
37 Hindi! Sa lahat ng mga ito, tayo'y lalong higit pang magtatagumpay sa pamamagitan niya na nagmamahal sa atin. 38 Sapagkat natitiyak kong walang makapaghihiwalay sa atin sa kanyang pag-ibig. Kahit ang kamatayan o ang buhay, ang mga anghel o ang mga pamunuan at ang mga kapangyarihan, ang kasalukuyan o ang hinaharap, 39 ang kataasan o ang kalaliman, o alinmang nilalang ay hindi makapaghihiwalay sa atin sa pag-ibig ng Diyos na ipinagkaloob sa atin sa pamamagitan ni Cristo Jesus na ating Panginoon.

Life Through the Spirit
8 Therefore, there is now no condemnation(A) for those who are in Christ Jesus,(B) 2 because through Christ Jesus(C) the law of the Spirit who gives life(D) has set you[a] free(E) from the law of sin(F) and death. 3 For what the law was powerless(G) to do because it was weakened by the flesh,[b](H) God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh(I) to be a sin offering.[c](J) And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement(K) of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.(L)
5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires;(M) but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.(N) 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death,(O) but the mind governed by the Spirit is life(P) and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God;(Q) it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh(R) cannot please God.
9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh(S) but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you.(T) And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ,(U) they do not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you,(V) then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life[d] because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead(W) is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies(X) because of[e] his Spirit who lives in you.
12 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.(Y) 13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die;(Z) but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body,(AA) you will live.(AB)
14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God(AC) are the children of God.(AD) 15 The Spirit(AE) you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again;(AF) rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[f] And by him we cry, “Abba,[g] Father.”(AG) 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit(AH) that we are God’s children.(AI) 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs(AJ)—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings(AK) in order that we may also share in his glory.(AL)
Present Suffering and Future Glory
18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.(AM) 19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God(AN) to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it,(AO) in hope 21 that[h] the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay(AP) and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.(AQ)
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning(AR) as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,(AS) groan(AT) inwardly as we wait eagerly(AU) for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.(AV) 24 For in this hope we were saved.(AW) But hope that is seen is no hope at all.(AX) Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.(AY)
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit(AZ) himself intercedes for us(BA) through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts(BB) knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes(BC) for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good(BD) of those who love him, who[i] have been called(BE) according to his purpose.(BF) 29 For those God foreknew(BG) he also predestined(BH) to be conformed to the image of his Son,(BI) that he might be the firstborn(BJ) among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined,(BK) he also called;(BL) those he called, he also justified;(BM) those he justified, he also glorified.(BN)
More Than Conquerors
31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things?(BO) If God is for us,(BP) who can be against us?(BQ) 32 He who did not spare his own Son,(BR) but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge(BS) against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns?(BT) No one. Christ Jesus who died(BU)—more than that, who was raised to life(BV)—is at the right hand of God(BW) and is also interceding for us.(BX) 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?(BY) Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?(BZ) 36 As it is written:
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors(CB) through him who loved us.(CC) 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[k] neither the present nor the future,(CD) nor any powers,(CE) 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God(CF) that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.(CG)
