律法的总结就是基督

10 弟兄们，我心里所愿的，向神所求的，是要以色列人得救。 ²我可以证明他们向神有热心，但不是按着真知识。 ³因为不知道神的义，想要立自己的义，就不服神的义了。 ⁴律法的总结就是基督，使凡信他的都得着义。 ⁵摩西写着说：“人若行那出于律法的义，就必因此活着。” ⁶唯有出于信心的义如此说：“你不要心里说：谁要升到天上去呢？”——就是要领下基督来； ⁷“谁要下到阴间去呢？”——就是要领基督从死里上来。 ⁸他到底怎么说呢？他说：“这道离你不远，正在你口里，在你心里”——就是我们所传信主的道。

求告主名的必要得救

⁹你若口里认耶稣为主，心里信神叫他从死里复活，就必得救。 ¹⁰因为人心里相信就可以称义，口里承认就可以得救。 ¹¹经上说：“凡信他的人，必不至于羞愧。” ¹²犹太人和希腊人并没有分别，因为众人同有一位主，他也厚待一切求告他的人； ¹³因为“凡求告主名的，就必得救”。 ¹⁴然而，人未曾信他，怎能求他呢？未曾听见他，怎能信他呢？没有传道的，怎能听见呢？ ¹⁵若没有奉差遣，怎能传道呢？如经上所记：“报福音传喜信的人，他们的脚踪何等佳美！”

¹⁶只是人没有都听从福音，因为以赛亚说：“主啊，我们所传的有谁信呢？” ¹⁷可见信道是从听道来的，听道是从基督的话来的。 ¹⁸但我说，人没有听见吗？诚然听见了，“他们的声音传遍天下，他们的言语传到地极。” ¹⁹我再说，以色列人不知道吗？先有摩西说：“我要用那不成子民的惹动你们的愤恨，我要用那无知的民触动你们的怒气。” ²⁰又有以赛亚放胆说：“没有寻找我的，我叫他们遇见；没有访问我的，我向他们显现。” ²¹至于以色列人，他说：“我整天伸手招呼那悖逆、顶嘴的百姓。”

Romans 10

New Living Translation

10 Dear brothers and sisters,^[a] the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. ²I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. ³For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. ⁴For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given.^[b] As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.

Salvation Is for Everyone

⁵For Moses writes that the law’s way of making a person right with God requires obedience to all of its commands.^[c] ⁶But faith’s way of getting right with God says, “Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will go up to heaven?’ (to bring Christ down to earth). ⁷And don’t say, ‘Who will go down to the place of the dead?’ (to bring Christ back to life again).” ⁸In fact, it says,

“The message is very close at hand;
it is on your lips and in your heart.”^[d]

And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: ⁹If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ¹⁰For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. ¹¹As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”^[e] ¹²Jew and Gentile^[f] are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. ¹³For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”^[g]

¹⁴But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? ¹⁵And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”^[h]

¹⁶But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, “Lord, who has believed our message?”^[i] ¹⁷So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. ¹⁸But I ask, have the people of Israel actually heard the message? Yes, they have:

“The message has gone throughout the earth,
and the words to all the world.”^[j]

¹⁹But I ask, did the people of Israel really understand? Yes, they did, for even in the time of Moses, God said,

“I will rouse your jealousy through people who are not even a nation.
I will provoke your anger through the foolish Gentiles.”^[k]

²⁰And later Isaiah spoke boldly for God, saying,

“I was found by people who were not looking for me.
I showed myself to those who were not asking for me.”^[l]

²¹But regarding Israel, God said,

“All day long I opened my arms to them,
but they were disobedient and rebellious.”^[m]
