¹⁹我再问，难道以色列人不知道吗？首先，摩西说：

“我要借无名之民挑起你们的嫉妒，
用愚昧的国民激起你们的怒气。”

²⁰后来，以赛亚先知又放胆地说：

“我让没有寻找我的人寻见，
我向没有求问我的人显现。”

²¹至于以色列人，他说：

“我整天伸出双手招呼那悖逆顽固的百姓。”

¹⁹Again I ask: Did Israel not understand? First, Moses says,

“I will make you envious^(A) by those who are not a nation;
I will make you angry by a nation that has no understanding.”^[a]^(B)

²⁰And Isaiah boldly says,

“I was found by those who did not seek me;
I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.”^[b]^(C)

²¹But concerning Israel he says,

“All day long I have held out my hands
to a disobedient and obstinate people.”^[c]^(D)
