⁸他的鄰居和從前見他討飯的人說：「他不是那個常在這裡討飯的人嗎？」

⁹有人說：「是他。」有人說：「不是他，只是長得像他。」

他自己說：「我就是那個人。」

¹⁰他們問：「你的眼睛是怎麼好的？」

⁸His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, “Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?”^(A) ⁹Some claimed that he was.

Others said, “No, he only looks like him.”

But he himself insisted, “I am the man.”

¹⁰“How then were your eyes opened?” they asked.

⁸The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?

⁹Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.

¹⁰Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
