耶稣治愈池边的病人
5 之后，是犹太人的一个节期，耶稣到耶路撒冷去了， 2 在耶路撒冷羊门附近有一个池子，希伯来语称之为“毕士大 [a]”。它有五列柱廊， 3 在它的下边，躺着大群的病人，瞎子、跛子或瘫痪的人， [b] 4 [c] 5 其中有个人病了三十八年。 6 耶稣看到他躺在那里，知道他病了很久了。耶稣对他说∶“你想痊愈吗？”
7 病人回答说∶“先生，水动的时候，没人帮我进池子。当我试着自己进的时候，总有人抢在我之前先下去。”
8 耶稣对他说∶“站起来，收拾起铺盖走吧。” 9 那人立刻康复了，他拿起铺盖，抬脚走了。
那天是安息日， 10 所以，犹太人对痊愈的病人说∶“今天是安息日，你扛着铺盖是触犯律法的。”
11 他对他们说∶“为我治好病的人说∶‘收拾起铺盖走吧。’”
12 他们问∶“对你说∶‘收拾起铺盖走吧。’的人是谁？”
13 那人不知道给他治病的人是谁，因为耶稣已经消失在聚集在那里的人群中了。
14 后来，耶稣在大殿院里见到那个人，对他说∶“看，你现在好了，不要再犯罪了，否则你的遭遇会更惨。”
15 那人离开后，告诉犹太人给他治好病的人就是耶稣。 16 因此，犹太人开始迫害耶稣，因为他在安息日做这些事。
17 耶稣对他们说∶“我父总是在工作，所以我也必须工作。”
因此，犹太人更是千方百计地要杀害他， 18 因为他不仅破坏了安息日的规矩，而且还把上帝称为自己的父亲，和上帝平起平坐。
耶稣有上帝的权威
19 耶稣是这样回答他们的∶“我实话告诉你们，子仅凭自己是无能为力的，他只做他看到父亲所做的事情。父亲做什么，子也做什么。 20 父很爱子，把自己的一切都做给子看，他还要把比治病更了不起的事情做给子看呢。那时候，你们才会吃惊呢。 21 正如父让死人复活并给予他们生命一样，子也会随自己的意愿把生命给予那些他想给予的人们。 22 父不审判任何人，他把所有审判的事情都交给了子。 23 为的是使万民像尊敬父一样尊敬子。不尊敬子的人，就是不尊敬派子来的父”。
24 “我实话告诉你们，谁听我的话，又信仰派我来的那位，谁就会得到永生，就不会被定罪，他就已经出死入生了。 25 我实话告诉你们，这个时刻就要到来了，它已在此了，所有的死者都将听到上帝之子的声音，听到这声音的人都会死而复活的。 26 正如父是生命之源一样，同样，他让子也成为了生命之源， 27 他赋予子审判的权利，因为耶稣是人子。 28 你们不必为此感到惊诧，这一时刻就要来临了，所有进了坟墓的人都会听到他的声音， 29 并且应声而出。行过善的人将复活再生；做过恶事的，将复活被定罪。
30 “我凭自己一无所能，我按照上帝的吩咐来审判，而且，我的审判是公平的，因为我不求取悦自己，只求取悦差谴我的那位。
耶稣对犹太首领继续讲话
31 如果我为自己作证，那么我的证言是无效的， 32 另有一位为我作见证的人，我知道他为我作的见证是有效的。
33 你们派人到约翰那里去过，他告诉了你们真理， 34 但我不依赖凡人的见证，我之所以这样说，是为了使你们能得救。 35 约翰像一盏点燃发光的灯，你们愿意享受他片刻的光。 36 但是，我有比约翰的更有份量的见证，那就是父交给我去完成的事业－也就是我现在所做的事－这些事可证明父亲派遣了我。 37 差谴我来的父亲亲自为我作过见证。你们从未听到过他的声音，也没有见过他的样子， 38 你们不把他的教导记在心里，因为你们不信仰他派来的人。 39 你们钻研《经》，以为通过《经》可以获得永生。正是这些《经》为我作了见证！ 40 然而，你们却不愿意到我这里来求得永生。
41 我不接受凡人的赞美， 42 但是我了解你们，知道你们心中没有上帝的爱。 43 我奉我父的名义而来，你们却不接受我；如果其他人以自己的名义而来，你们竟会接受他！ 44 既然你们并不寻求来自唯一的上帝的赞许，而只接受彼此的恭维，又怎么会相信我呢？ 45 不要以为我会在父面前控告你们，要控告你们的人是你们寄希望的摩西。假如你们真的相信摩西， 46 那么就应该相信我，因为他写下了关于我的事。 47 既然你们连他写的都不相信，又怎么会相信我所说的呢？”

Yo te rele pisin sa a Bètesda,[a] nan lang ebre. 3 Anpil moun malad te kouche anba galeri yo, bò kote pisin nan. Kèk nan yo te avèg, kèk lòt te bwate, lòt ankò te paralize.[b] 4 [c] 5 Youn nan moun ki te kouche la te malad depi trantuitan. 6 Jezi wè li kouche la epi li konnen l malad depi byen lontan. Li di li: “Èske ou vle geri?”
7 Malad la reponn: “Mesye, m pa gen pèsonn pou ede m antre nan dlo a lè l ap fè mouvman. Chak fwa m eseye, yon lòt moun toujou pase devan m.”
8 Alò Jezi di l: “Leve kanpe, pran kabann ou, epi mache.” 9 Menm lè a, nonm nan geri. Li pran kabann li epi li te kòmanse mache.
Men bagay sa a te rive yon jou saba. 10 Se poutèt sa kèk Jwif te di nonm ki te geri a: “Jodi a se saba. Pote kabann ou nan jou repo a, se yon bagay ki kont Lalwa nou an.”
11 Men nonm nan reponn: “Moun ki geri m nan di: Pran kabann ou epi mache.”
12 Yo mande li: “Ki moun sa ki di w pran kabann ou epi mache a?”
13 Men nonm ki te geri a pa te konnen kilès moun ki te geri l la te ye. Te plen moun la, epi Jezi te gentan ale.
14 Pita, Jezi jwenn nonm nan nan tanp lan, epi li di li: “Ou wè, ou geri. Sispann peche, sinon yon pi move bagay riske rive w!”
15 Alò nonm nan pati retounen jwenn Jwif yo ki t ap poze li kesyon yo. Li di yo se Jezi ki te geri li.
16 Jezi te fè tout bagay sa yo nan jou repo a. Se poutèt sa Jwif yo t ap chache wè kijan yo ta simen boulvès pou bay Jezi pwoblèm. 17 Men li di yo: “Papa m pa janm sispann travay, se kon sa mwen menm tou m ap travay.”
18 Sa fè Jwif yo t ap chache pi plis pou touye l. Yo te di “Premyèman, nonm sa a pa obsève Lalwa sou jou repo a. Epi Li di Bondye se Papa l. Li fè pwòp tèt pa l egal ak Bondye.”
Jezi genyen otorite Bondye
19 Men jezi reponn yo: “Se vre! Amèn! Men m ap di tou: Pitit la pa kapab fè anyen poukont li. Li fè sa l wè Papa l ap fè sèlman. 20 Papa a renmen Pitit la, Li montre Li tout sa l ap fè. Epi Papa a gen pou montre Pitit la bagay ki pi gwo toujou. Alò nou va sezi. 21 Menm jan Papa a resisite moun mouri, epi li ba yo lavi, se kon sa Pitit la bay moun li vle lavi tou.
22 Konsa tou, Papa a pa jije pèsonn. Li bay Pitit la pouvwa pou li fè tout jijman. 23 Bondye fè sa kon sa pou fè tout moun gen respè pou Pitit la, menm jan yo gen respè pou Papa a. Nenpòt moun ki pa gen respè pou Pitit la pa gen respè pou Papa a. Se li menm ki voye Pitit la.
24 Sa m sot di nou la a, se vre. Ban m di nou yon lòt bagay ankò, nenpòt moun ki tande sa mwen di epi ki kwè nan moun ki voye m nan, li genyen lavi etènèl. Moun sa a p ap tonbe anba jijman ankò. Li fini ak lanmò, se viv l ap viv kounye a. 25 Sa m ap di nou la a, se vre, nou ta dwe kwè sa. Epi kite m di nou yon lòt bagay, gen yon jou enpòtan k ap vini. Jou sa a gentan la. Moun ki mouri va tande vwa Pitit Bondye a. Epi moun ki tande se yo ki va gen lavi. 26 Menm jan lavi se nan Papa a li soti, kon sa tou, Papa a bay Pitit la pouvwa pou l bay lavi. 27 Epi Papa a bay Pitit la otorite pou l jije tout moun, paske li se Pitit Lòm nan.
28 Pa sezi. Gen yon jou k ap vini kote tout moun ki mouri pral tande vwa Pitit la. 29 Alò yo va leve soti nan tonm yo. Sa ki te fè byen nan lavi sa a, yo va resisite epi yo va genyen lavi etènèl. Men sa ki t ap fè sa ki mal yo, yo va resisite pou yo jije epi pou yo jwenn kondanasyon yo.
30 Mwen pa kapab fè anyen poukont mwen. Mwen jije dapre jan Papa a di mwen. Epi jijman mwen an jis, paske mwen p ap chache fè pwòp tèt mwen plezi. M ap chache fè moun ki voye m nan plezi sèlman.
Jezi di lidè Jwif yo pi plis bagay toujou
31 Si m ap temwanye pou mwen menm sèlman, alò nou kapab panse sa m ap di de mwen menm yo pa verite a. 32 Men, gen yon lòt moun ki di menm bagay yo de mwen, epi mwen konnen temwanyaj li se verite a.
33 Nou te voye moun kote Janbatis, epi li menm tou te di nou verite a li te wè sou mwen. 34 Poutan, mwen pa vrèman bezwen yon lòt moun pou dakò avè m pou m bay prèv kilès mwen ye, men mwen fè nou sonje sa Janbatis te di nou, pou nou kapab rive sove. 35 Janbatis te tankou yon lanp ki limen epi k ap klere moun, epi nou te byen kontan rejwi nou nan limyè li pou yon ti tan.
36 Men mwen gen yon temwanyaj pou mwen ki pi gran pase tout sa Janbatis te di. Bagay m ap fè yo se temwanyaj mwen. Se sa Papa m te ban m fè. Yo temwanye Papa a te voye m vrèman vre. 37 Papa a, Li menm ki te voye mwen, te bay prèv pou mwen. Men nou pa janm tande vwa li. Nou pa janm wè ak kisa li sanble. 38 Ansèyman Papa a pa rete nan nou, paske nou pa kwè nan moun Papa a voye a. 39 Nou etidye Bib la paske nou kwè n ap jwenn yon fason pou nou viv pou tout tan nan yo. Men, menm pawòl sa yo pale de mwen. 40 Men, nou derefize vini jwenn mwen pou m ta ban nou lavi etènèl.
41 Mwen pa bezwen moun fè lwanj pou mwen. 42 Mwen konnen nou. Mwen konnen nou pa renmen Bondye. 43 Mwen vini soti bò kote Papa m epi mwen pale nan non li. Malgre tout sa, nou pa aksepte m. Epi lè lòt moun vini pale pou pwòp tèt yo, nou aksepte yo san pwoblèm. 44 Nou renmen resevwa lwanj youn lòt. Men, nou pa janm eseye jwenn lwanj ki soti nan Bondye. Alò, kijan pou nou fè kwè? 45 Pa mete nan tèt nou se mwen ki pral kanpe devan Papa Bondye pou m akize nou. Se Moyiz k ap akize nou. Epi se li nou te panse ki t ap sove nou. 46 Si nou te kwè nan Moyiz vrèman, nou t ap kwè nan mwen, paske li ekri pou pale de mwen. 47 Men, nou pa kwè sa li te ekri. Konsa, nou pa kapab kwè sa m ap di.”

The Healing at the Pool
5 Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate(A) a pool, which in Aramaic(B) is called Bethesda[a] and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. 3 Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. [4] [b] 5 One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
7 “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”
8 Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”(C) 9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,(D) 10 and so the Jewish leaders(E) said to the man who had been healed, “It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat.”(F)
11 But he replied, “The man who made me well said to me, ‘Pick up your mat and walk.’ ”
12 So they asked him, “Who is this fellow who told you to pick it up and walk?”
13 The man who was healed had no idea who it was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there.
14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning(G) or something worse may happen to you.” 15 The man went away and told the Jewish leaders(H) that it was Jesus who had made him well.
The Authority of the Son
16 So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him. 17 In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father(I) is always at his work(J) to this very day, and I too am working.” 18 For this reason they tried all the more to kill him;(K) not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.(L)
19 Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself;(M) he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. 20 For the Father loves the Son(N) and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these,(O) so that you will be amazed. 21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life,(P) even so the Son gives life(Q) to whom he is pleased to give it. 22 Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son,(R) 23 that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.(S)
24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me(T) has eternal life(U) and will not be judged(V) but has crossed over from death to life.(W) 25 Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come(X) when the dead will hear(Y) the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life(Z) in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to judge(AA) because he is the Son of Man.
28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming(AB) when all who are in their graves will hear his voice 29 and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.(AC) 30 By myself I can do nothing;(AD) I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just,(AE) for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.(AF)
Testimonies About Jesus
31 “If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.(AG) 32 There is another who testifies in my favor,(AH) and I know that his testimony about me is true.
33 “You have sent to John and he has testified(AI) to the truth. 34 Not that I accept human testimony;(AJ) but I mention it that you may be saved.(AK) 35 John was a lamp that burned and gave light,(AL) and you chose for a time to enjoy his light.
36 “I have testimony weightier than that of John.(AM) For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing(AN)—testify that the Father has sent me.(AO) 37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me.(AP) You have never heard his voice nor seen his form,(AQ) 38 nor does his word dwell in you,(AR) for you do not believe(AS) the one he sent.(AT) 39 You study[c] the Scriptures(AU) diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life.(AV) These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,(AW) 40 yet you refuse to come to me(AX) to have life.
41 “I do not accept glory from human beings,(AY) 42 but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. 43 I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. 44 How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God[d]?(AZ)
45 “But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses,(BA) on whom your hopes are set.(BB) 46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.(BC) 47 But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?”(BD)
