耶稣在毕士大池边治病
5 这事以后，犹太人的一个节期到了，耶稣便上耶路撒冷。 2 耶路撒冷靠近羊门的地方有一个水池，希伯来话叫毕士大，池边有五条走廊， 3 里面躺着瞎眼的、瘸腿的、瘫痪的等许多病人。 4 他们都在等候天使来搅动池水。水动时，第一个下去的，无论患什么病都会痊愈。[a]
5 那里有一个人病了三十八年。 6 耶稣看他躺着，知道他病了很久，就问他：“你想痊愈吗？”
7 那人回答说：“先生，水动的时候，没有人把我放进池子里，我要下去的时候，别人总是先我一步。”
8 耶稣对他说：“起来，拿起你的垫子走吧！”
9 那人立刻痊愈了，拿起垫子开始行走。那天正好是安息日， 10 犹太人便对那人说：“今天是安息日，你不可拿着垫子走路。”
11 他说：“那位医好我的叫我拿起垫子走。”
12 他们问他：“叫你拿起垫子走的人是谁？”

18 犹太人听了，更想杀祂，因祂不但违犯了安息日的规矩，还称上帝为父，把自己看作与上帝平等。
圣子的权柄
19 耶稣说：“我实实在在地告诉你们，子凭自己什么都不能做，唯有看见父做什么，子才做什么。无论父做什么，子也照样做。 20 父因为爱子，便把自己的一切作为给祂看，而且还要把比这些更大的作为给祂看，叫你们惊奇。 21 父如何使死人复活、赐生命给他们，子也照样想赐生命给谁，就赐给谁。 22 父不审判人，祂将审判的事全交给子， 23 叫人尊敬子如同尊敬父。不尊敬子的，就是不尊敬差子来的父。
24 “我实实在在地告诉你们，谁听从我的话，又信差我来的那位，谁就有永生，不被定罪，已经出死入生了。 25 我实实在在地告诉你们，时候快到了，现在就是，死人将听见上帝儿子的声音，听见的将存活。 26 因为正如父自己是生命的源头，祂也同样让子作生命的源头， 27 又把审判的权柄交给祂，因为祂是人子。 28 你们不要因此而惊奇，时候一到，一切在坟墓里的死人都要听见上帝儿子的声音， 29 他们都要从坟墓里出来。行善的人复活后得永生，作恶的人复活后被定罪。”
见证耶稣
30 耶稣继续说：“我凭自己不能做什么，我按父上帝的旨意审判，我的审判是公平的；因为我不是按自己的旨意行，而是按差我来者的旨意行。
31 “如果我为自己做见证，我的见证是无效的。 32 然而，有别的人给我做见证，我知道他为我做的见证是真实的。 33 你们曾派人到约翰那里，他为真理做过见证。 34 其实我并不需要人的见证，我之所以提起这些事是为了使你们得救。 35 约翰是一盏点亮的明灯，你们情愿暂时享受他的光。 36 但是我有比约翰更大的见证，因为父交待我去完成的工作，就是我现在所做的工作，证明我是父差来的。 37 差我来的父曾亲自为我做过见证。你们从未听过祂的声音，从未见过祂， 38 心里也没有祂的道，因为你们不信祂所差来的那位。 39 你们研读圣经，以为从圣经中可以得到永生。其实为我做见证的正是这圣经， 40 但你们却不肯到我这里来得生命。

A Man Healed at the Pool of Bethesda
5 After (A)this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus (B)went up to Jerusalem. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem (C)by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, [a]Bethesda, having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, [b]paralyzed, [c]waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. 5 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”
7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”
8 Jesus said to him, (D)“Rise, take up your bed and walk.” 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.
And (E)that day was the Sabbath. 10 The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath; (F)it is not lawful for you to carry your bed.”
11 He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’ ”
12 Then they asked him, “Who is the Man who said to you, ‘Take up your bed and walk’?” 13 But the one who was (G)healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. 14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. (H)Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”
15 The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
Honor the Father and the Son
16 For this reason the Jews (I)persecuted Jesus, [d]and sought to kill Him, because He had done these things on the Sabbath. 17 But Jesus answered them, (J)“My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.”
18 Therefore the Jews (K)sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, (L)making Himself equal with God. 19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, (M)the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. 20 For (N)the Father loves the Son, and (O)shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. 21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, (P)even so the Son gives life to whom He will. 22 For the Father judges no one, but (Q)has committed all judgment to the Son, 23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. (R)He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
Life and Judgment Are Through the Son
24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, (S)he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, (T)but has passed from death into life. 25 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when (U)the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. 26 For (V)as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have (W)life in Himself, 27 and (X)has given Him authority to execute judgment also, (Y)because He is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will (Z)hear His voice 29 (AA)and come forth—(AB)those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. 30 (AC)I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because (AD)I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.
The Fourfold Witness
31 (AE)“If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not [e]true. 32 (AF)There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true. 33 You have sent to John, (AG)and he has borne witness to the truth. 34 Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved. 35 He was the burning and (AH)shining lamp, and (AI)you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light. 36 But (AJ)I have a greater witness than John’s; for (AK)the works which the Father has given Me to finish—the very (AL)works that I do—bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me. 37 And the Father Himself, who sent Me, (AM)has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, (AN)nor seen His form. 38 But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. 39 (AO)You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and (AP)these are they which testify of Me. 40 (AQ)But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.
41 (AR)“I do not receive honor from men. 42 But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you. 43 I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive. 44 (AS)How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek (AT)the honor that comes from the only God? 45 Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; (AU)there is one who accuses you—Moses, in whom you trust. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; (AV)for he wrote about Me. 47 But if you (AW)do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

12 Ei l-au întrebat:
– Cine este Omul Care ţi-a zis: „Ia-ţi targa şi umblă!“?
13 Dar cel vindecat nu ştia cine este, pentru că Isus dispăruse din mulţimea care era în locul acela. 14 După aceea, Isus l-a găsit în Templu şi i-a zis: „Iată că te-ai făcut bine! Să nu mai păcătuieşti, ca să nu ţi se întâmple ceva şi mai rău!“ 15 Omul a plecat şi le-a spus iudeilor[e] că Isus este Cel Care l-a făcut bine.
Lucrarea Fiului
16 De aceea iudeii Îl persecutau pe Isus, fiindcă făcea aceste lucruri în ziua de Sabat. 17 Însă Isus le-a zis: „Tatăl Meu lucrează până acum, iar Eu, de asemenea, lucrez!“ 18 Tocmai de aceea iudeii căutau şi mai mult să-L omoare, fiindcă nu numai că dezlega Sabatul, ci şi vorbea despre Dumnezeu ca despre Tatăl Său, făcându-Se astfel egal cu Dumnezeu.[f]
19 Prin urmare, Isus le-a mai zis: „Adevărat, adevărat vă spun că Fiul nu poate face nimic de la Sine, ci doar ceea ce-L vede pe Tatăl făcând. Ceea ce face Tatăl, face şi Fiul întocmai. 20 Căci Tatăl Îl iubeşte pe Fiul şi-I arată tot ce face El; şi Îi va arăta lucrări mai mari decât acestea, pentru ca voi să vă minunaţi. 21 Într-adevăr, aşa cum Tatăl învie morţii şi le dă viaţă, tot aşa şi Fiul dă viaţă oricui doreşte El! 22 Căci Tatăl nu judecă pe nimeni, ci toată judecata I-a dat-o Fiului, 23 pentru ca toţi să-L onoreze pe Fiul aşa cum Îl onorează pe Tatăl. Cel ce nu-L onorează pe Fiul nu-L onorează nici pe Tatăl, Care L-a trimis.
24 Adevărat, adevărat vă spun că cine ascultă Cuvântul Meu şi crede în Cel Ce M-a trimis are viaţă veşnică şi nu vine la judecată, ci a trecut de la moarte la viaţă. 25 Adevărat, adevărat vă spun că vine ceasul, şi acum a şi venit, când cei morţi vor auzi glasul Fiului lui Dumnezeu şi cei ce ascultă vor trăi. 26 Căci aşa cum Tatăl are viaţa în Sine Însuşi, tot aşa I-a dat şi Fiului să aibă viaţa în Sine Însuşi 27 şi I-a dat autoritate să facă judecată, pentru că este Fiul Omului. 28 Nu vă miraţi de acest lucru, pentru că vine ceasul când toţi cei din morminte vor auzi glasul Lui 29 şi vor ieşi afară – cei ce au făcut binele vor învia pentru viaţă, iar cei ce au înfăptuit răul vor învia pentru judecată.
30 Eu nu pot face nimic de la Mine; Eu judec după cum aud, şi judecata Mea este dreaptă, pentru că nu caut să fac voia Mea, ci voia Celui Ce M-a trimis.
Mărturia despre Fiul
31 Dacă Eu depun mărturie despre Mine Însumi, atunci mărturia Mea nu este adevărată. 32 Este un Altul Care depune mărturie despre Mine şi ştiu că mărturia pe care o depune El despre Mine este adevărată. 33 Voi aţi trimis la Ioan, şi el a depus mărturie pentru adevăr. 34 Nu că Eu aş avea nevoie de mărturia unui om, ci spun aceasta pentru ca voi să fiţi mântuiţi. 35 El era lampa aprinsă şi strălucitoare şi voi aţi vrut să vă veseliţi pentru un ceas la lumina lui. 36 Eu însă am o mărturie mai mare decât cea a lui Ioan. Căci lucrările pe care Mi le-a dat Tatăl să le împlinesc, tocmai lucrările acestea, pe care Eu le fac, depun mărturie despre Mine că Tatăl M-a trimis. 37 Şi Tatăl, Care M-a trimis, a depus El Însuşi mărturie despre Mine. Voi nu I-aţi auzit niciodată glasul şi nici nu I-aţi văzut înfăţişarea, 38 iar Cuvântul Lui nu rămâne în voi, pentru că nu credeţi în Acela pe Care L-a trimis El. 39 Voi cercetaţi Scripturile deoarece credeţi că în ele aveţi viaţă veşnică, dar tocmai[g] acestea sunt cele care depun mărturie despre Mine! 40 Şi totuşi nu vreţi să veniţi la Mine ca să aveţi viaţă!
41 Eu nu caut[h] slavă de la oameni, 42 dar vă ştiu: nu aveţi în voi dragoste de Dumnezeu[i]. 43 Eu am venit în Numele Tatălui Meu şi nu Mă primiţi; dacă însă vine altul, în numele lui însuşi, pe acela îl veţi primi. 44 Cum puteţi crede voi, care căutaţi[j] slavă unii de la alţii şi nu căutaţi slava care vine de la singurul Dumnezeu?! 45 Să nu credeţi că Eu vă voi acuza înaintea Tatălui! Acuzatorul vostru este Moise, cel în care v-aţi pus nădejdea. 46 Căci dacă l-aţi crede pe Moise, M-aţi crede şi pe Mine, pentru că el a scris despre Mine. 47 Dar dacă nu credeţi scrierile lui, cum veţi crede cuvintele Mele?!“
