井边谈道
4 1-3 耶稣得知法利赛人听见祂收门徒、为人施洗比约翰还多，便离开犹太回加利利。其实不是耶稣亲自施洗，而是祂的门徒施洗。 4 祂回加利利的路上必须经过撒玛利亚。 5 于是，祂来到撒玛利亚的一座城，名叫叙加，靠近雅各留给他儿子约瑟的那块地。 6 雅各井就在那个地方。耶稣走路疲乏，坐在井旁休息。那时是中午时分， 7-8 门徒都进城买食物去了。有一个撒玛利亚的妇人来打水，耶稣说：“请你给我一点水吧。”
9 撒玛利亚妇人说：“你是个犹太人，怎么向我这撒玛利亚妇人要水喝？”原来犹太人和撒玛利亚人互不往来。
10 耶稣回答说：“要是你知道上帝的恩赐，又知道向你要水喝的是谁，你早就求祂了，祂也早就把活水给你了。”
11 妇人说：“先生，你没有打水的器具，井又深，你从哪里得到活水呢？ 12 我们的祖先雅各把这口井留给我们，他自己和他的儿女、牲畜都喝这井里的水，难道你比他更伟大吗？”
13 耶稣说：“人喝了这井里的水，还会再渴， 14 但是喝了我所赐的活水，永远不会再渴。我所赐的水要在他里面成为生命的泉源，涌流不息，直到永生。”
15 妇人说：“先生，请你把这种水赐给我，我就不会再渴了，也用不着来打水了。”
16 耶稣说：“去叫你的丈夫来。”
17 妇人说：“我没有丈夫。”耶稣说：“你说的对，你没有丈夫， 18 因为你已经有过五个丈夫了，现在和你同居的也不是你的丈夫。你说的是实话。”
19 妇人说：“先生，你一定是先知。 20 我们的祖先一向都是在这山上敬拜上帝，你们却说耶路撒冷才是敬拜的地方。”
21 耶稣回答说：“妇人，你当信我。时候快到了，你们将不在这山上，也不在耶路撒冷敬拜父。 22 你们不知道你们敬拜的是谁，我们知道我们敬拜的是谁，因为救恩是从犹太人出来的。 23 时候快到了，其实就是现在，真正敬拜父的，要用心灵按真理敬拜祂，因为父寻找的正是这样敬拜祂的人。 24 上帝是灵，所以必须用心灵按真理敬拜祂。”
25 妇人说：“据我所知，那被称为基督的弥赛亚要来。祂来了，会把一切都告诉我们。”
26 耶稣说：“我这跟你说话的人就是祂。”
27 这时，门徒回来了，看见耶稣和一个妇人谈话，感到惊奇，可是没有人问：“你想要什么？”或问：“你为什么和她说话？”
28 那妇人撇下水罐，回到城里，对人们说： 29 “你们快来看啊！有一个人把我过去的事全部说了出来。莫非祂就是基督？” 30 众人听了就到城外去看耶稣。
撒种与收割
31 其间，门徒对耶稣说：“老师，请吃点东西吧。”
32 耶稣说：“我有食物吃，是你们不知道的。”
33 门徒彼此议论说：“难道有人给祂吃的了？”
34 耶稣说：“我的食物就是遵行差我来者的旨意，完成祂的工作。 35 你们不是说还有四个月才到收割的时候吗？举目向田观看吧，庄稼已经熟了，可以收割了。 36 收割的人不但可以得到报酬，而且可以为永生收获果实，叫撒种的和收割的一同快乐。 37 俗语说得好，‘那人撒种，这人收割。’ 38 我派你们去收割那些你们没有劳作的庄稼，别人劳苦，你们享受他们劳苦的成果。”
39 那城里有许多撒玛利亚人信了耶稣，因为那妇人做见证说：“祂将我以前做的一切事情都说了出来。” 40 撒玛利亚人来见耶稣，恳求祂留下来，祂就在那里住了两天。 41 因为耶稣传的道，信的人更多了。 42 他们对那妇人说：“现在我们信，不再是因为你的话，而是我们亲耳听见了，知道祂真的是救世主。”
耶稣治好大臣的儿子
43 两天后，耶稣动身前往加利利。 44 祂以前说过：“先知在他本乡不受人尊敬。” 45 然而，祂回到加利利却受到当地的人欢迎，因为他们上耶路撒冷过节时，看见了祂所做的一切。
46 祂又到了加利利的迦拿，就是祂从前把水变成酒的地方。有一个大臣的儿子在迦百农患了病。 47 大臣听说耶稣从犹太来到加利利，立刻赶来见祂，求祂去医治他病危的儿子。
48 耶稣对他说：“你们不看见神迹奇事，总不相信。”
49 大臣说：“先生，趁我的孩子还没死，求你赶快去！”
50 耶稣说：“回去吧，你的儿子好了。”他相信耶稣的话，就回去了。
51 他途中遇见奴仆来报信说他儿子好了， 52 就问什么时候好的。仆人说：“昨天下午一点钟，烧就退了。”
53 他想起正是那时候耶稣对他说：“你的儿子好了！”他和全家都信了。
54 这是耶稣从犹太回到加利利后所行的第二个神迹。

우물가의 여인
4 예수님이 요한보다 더 많이 제자를 삼고 세례를 준다는 소문이 바리새파 사 람들의 귀에 들어갔다.
2 (그러나 예수님이 직접 세례를 주신 것이 아니라 제자들이 준 것이었다.)
3 예수님은 이것을 아시고 유대를 떠나 다시 갈릴리로 향해 가셨는데
4 도중에 사마리아를 지나가셔야만 했다.
5 그래서 예수님은 수가라는 사마리아의 한 마을에 이르시게 되었다. 이 마을은 야곱이 그의 아들 요셉에게 준 땅에서 가깝고
6 또 야곱의 우물이 있는 곳이었다. 예수님은 여행에 피곤하여 우물가에 앉으셨다. 때는 낮 [a]12시경이었다.
7 마침 사마리아 여자 하나가 물을 길으러 오자 예수님은 그녀에게 물을 좀 달라고 하셨다.
8 그때 제자들은 먹을 것을 사러 마을에 들어가고 없었다.
9 그 여자가 예수님께 “당신은 유대인인데 어떻게 사마리아 여자인 나에게 물을 달라고 하십니까?” 하였다. 이것은 유대인들과 사마리아인들이 서로 교제하지 않았기 때문이었다.
10 그래서 예수님이 그 여자에게 대답하셨다. “네가 만일 하나님의 선물과 또 물을 좀 달라고 하는 사람이 누군지 알았더라면 네가 그에게 생수를 달라고 했을 것이고 그는 너에게 생수를 주었을 것이다.”
11 “[b]선생님, 물 길을 그릇도 없고 이 우물은 깊은데 어디서 그런 생수를 구한단 말씀입니까?
12 이 우물을 우리에게 준 우리 조상 야곱과 그의 아들들과 가축이 다 이 물을 마셨습니다. 선생님은 야곱보다도 위대하십니까?”
13 “이 물을 마시는 사람마다 다시 목마를 것이지만
14 내가 주는 물을 마시는 사람은 절대로 목마르지 않을 것이다. 참으로 내가 주는 물은 그에게 끊임없이 솟구쳐나오는 영원한 생명의 샘물이 될 것이다.”
15 “선생님, 그런 물을 저에게 주십시오! 그러면 제가 다시는 목마르지도 않고 물을 길으러 여기까지 올 필요도 없을 것입니다.”
16 “가서 네 남편을 불러오너라.”
17 “저는 남편이 없습니다.” “남편이 없다는 네 말이 옳다.
18 너에게는 남편이 다섯 명이나 있었으나 지금 너와 함께 살고 있는 사람도 사실 네 남편이 아니고 보면 너는 바른 말을 한 것이다.”
19 “선생님, 제가 보니 선생님은 예언자이십니다.
20 우리 조상들은 이 [c]산에서 예배를 드렸는데 [d]유대인들은 예루살렘에서 예배를 드려야 한다고 주장합니다.”
21 “여자여, 내 말을 믿어라. 이 산이든 예루살렘이든 아버지께 예배드리는 장소가 문제 되지 않을 때가 오고 있다.
22 너희 사마리아 사람들은 알지 못하는 것을 예배하고 우리는 아는 것을 예배한다. 이것은 구원이 유대인에게서 나오기 때문이다.
23 아버지께 진정으로 예배하는 사람들이 영적인 진실한 예배를 드릴 때가 오는데 바로 이때이다. 아버지께서는 이렇게 예배하는 사람을 찾으신다.
24 하나님은 영이시다. 그래서 예배하는 사람은 영적인 진실한 예배를 드려야 하는 것이다.”
25 “그리스도라는 메시아가 오실 줄을 나는 알고 있습니다. 그분이 오시면 모든 것을 우리에게 설명해 주실 것입니다.”
26 그러자 예수님은 “너와 말하고 있는 내가 바로 그 메시아이다” 하고 말씀하셨다.
27 바로 그때 제자들이 돌아와 예수님이 여자와 이야기하시는 것을 보고 이상히 여겼으나 예수님이 무엇을 원하시는지, 또 왜 그 여자와 말씀하시는지 아무도 묻지 않았다.
28 그 여자가 물통을 버려 두고 마을로 달려가서 사람들에게
29 “다들 와서 좀 보세요! 나의 과거를 죄다 말해 준 사람이 있어요! 이분이 그리스도가 아닐까요?” 하자
30 사람들이 마을에서 나와 예수님께 모여들었다.
31 한편 제자들이 “선생님, 좀 잡수십시오” 하고 권하자
32 예수님은 그들에게 “내게는 너희가 알지 못하는 양식이 있다” 하고 말씀하셨다.
33 이 말씀을 듣고 제자들은 “누가 잡수실 것을 갖다 드렸을까?” 하고 서로 의아스럽게 생각하였다.
34 그러자 예수님이 이렇게 말씀하셨다. “내 양식은 나를 보내신 분의 뜻을 실천하고 그분의 일을 완성하는 것이다.
35 너희는 아직 넉 달이 더 있어야 추수 때가 온다고 하지 않느냐? 그러나 내가 너희에게 말한다. [e]눈을 떠서 들판을 바라보아라. 곡식이 다 익어 추수할 때가 되었다.
36 이미 추수하는 사람이 삯을 받고 영원한 생명을 위한 열매를 거둬들이고 있다. 이것은 씨 뿌리는 사람과 거둬들이는 사람이 함께 기뻐하도록 하기 위해서이다.
37 그러므로 ‘한 사람은 심고 다른 사람은 거둔다’ 는 말이 사실이다.
38 너희가 수고하지 않은 것을 거두라고 내가 너희를 보냈다. 다른 사람들은 수고하였고 너희는 그들이 수고한 결실을 거두고 있다.”
39 예수님이 자기 과거를 죄다 말씀하셨다고 증거한 그 여자의 말을 듣고 그 마을에 사는 많은 사마리아 사람들이 예수님을 믿었다.
40 사마리아 사람들이 예수님께 와서 그 곳에 머물러 달라고 하므로 예수님은 거기서 이틀을 머무셨다.
41 예수님의 말씀을 듣고 더 많은 사람이 믿게 되었다.
42 그들은 그 여자에게 “이제 우리가 믿는 것은 당신의 말 때문이 아니라 우리가 직접 이분의 말씀을 들었고 또 이분이야말로 정말 세상의 구주라는 것을 우리가 알게 되었기 때문이오” 하였다.
43 이틀 후에 예수님은 그 곳을 떠나 갈릴리로 가시면서
44 “예언자가 자기 고향에서는 존경을 받지 못한다” 하고 직접 말씀하셨다.
45 예수님이 갈릴리에 도착하시자 그 곳 사람들은 그분을 반갑게 맞아들였다. 이것은 그들이 명절에 예루살렘에 갔다가 거기서 예수님이 하신 모든 일을 직접 보았기 때문이다.
신하의 아들을 고치심
46 예수님은 전에 물로 포도주를 만드신 갈릴리 가나로 다시 오셨다. 그 곳에는 왕의 신하 한 사람이 있었는데 그의 아들이 가버나움에서 앓고 있었다.
47 그 신하는 예수님이 유대에서 갈릴리로 오셨다는 말을 듣고 예수님을 찾아가 가버나움으로 와서 다 죽게 된 자기 아들을 살려 달라고 애원하였다.
48 그때 예수님이 그에게 “너희가 기적과 신기한 일을 보지 않고는 쉽게 믿지 않을 것이다” 하고 말씀하시자
49 그는 예수님께 “주님, 제 아이가 죽기 전에 어서 내려와 주십시오” 하고 간청하였다.
50 그래서 예수님은 “돌아가거라. 네 아들은 살았다” 하고 말씀하셨다. 그 사람은 예수님의 말씀을 믿고 떠났다.
51 그는 가는 도중에 종들을 만나 아이가 살았다는 말을 듣고
52 병이 낫기 시작한 때를 물었다. 그러자 종들은 어제 오후 [f]1시경에 열이 떨어졌다고 대답하였다.
53 그래서 아이 아버지는 예수님이 “네 아들은 살았다” 하고 말씀하신 바로 그때인 줄 알고 자기와 그의 집안이 다 예수님을 믿었다.
54 이것은 예수님이 유대에서 갈릴리로 오신 후 행하신 두 번째 기적이었다.

5 耶稣来到撒玛利亚的一座叫叙加的城镇，它靠近雅各给他儿子约瑟的那片土地。 6 雅各井就在这里。大约中午时分，耶稣走累了，便坐在井边。 7 一位撒玛利亚 [a]女子来到井边打水，耶稣说∶“给我点水喝吧。” 8 （门徒们都到城里买吃的去了。）
9 那女子对他说∶“你是犹太人，我是撒玛利亚人，你怎么向我要水喝？”（因为犹太人不和撒玛利亚人来往。 [b]）
10 耶稣回答说∶“假如你知道上帝的恩赐是什么，知道向你要水喝的人是谁，你早就会求他了，那么他早就会给你活水了。”
11 女子说∶“先生，你连打水的器具都没有，井又那么深，你到哪儿去打活水呢？你比我们的祖先雅各更伟大吗？ 12 他给了我们这口井，他本人、他的孩子和牲畜都喝过这口井的水。”
13 耶稣答道∶“喝这个井里水的人，还会口渴的， 14 但是，喝了我的水的人，就永远不会再渴了。而且，我给他的水，在他的身体里，将变成泉源，汩汩地涌出来，给人以永生。”
15 女子对耶稣说∶“先生，请给我一些那种水吧，让我永远不再渴，也不用再来这儿打水了。”
16 耶稣说∶“去把你丈夫叫来。”
17 女子对耶稣说∶“我没有丈夫。”
耶稣说∶“你说得不错，你是没有丈夫。 18 你有过五个丈夫，而你现在的那个男人并不是你的丈夫。你说的是实话。”
19 女子说∶“先生，我看出您是先知！ 20 我们祖先在这座山上崇拜，你们犹太人却说，耶路撒冷才应该是人们崇拜的地方。”
21 耶稣说∶“女人，相信我！你们既不在这山上，也不在耶路撒冷崇拜父的时候，那时刻就要来临了。 22 你们撒玛利亚人崇拜什么，你们并不知道，我们犹太人却知道我们崇拜的是什么，因为拯救来自犹太人。 23 不过，真正崇拜父的时刻就要到来，并且已经到来，真正崇拜父的人以心灵和真诚崇拜他，这些人才是父所希望的那种崇拜者。 24 上帝是灵，崇拜他的人要用心灵和真诚崇拜他。”
25 女子对他说∶“我知道弥赛亚就要来临，就是被称为基督的那位。他到来后，会向我们说明一切的。”
26 耶稣对她说∶“正在对你说话的便是他。”
27 此时，耶稣的门徒回来了，他们看到他正和一个女子说话，都很惊讶，不过谁也没问“您想从她那里要什么”或是“您为什么和她说话？”
28 那女子放下水罐回城去了。她对人们说： 29 “你们来看呀，有人把我所做过的一切，都说出来了，他有可能是基督吗？” 30 城里的人们倾城而出，到耶稣这里来了。
31 同时，门徒们正督促他∶“拉比（老师），您吃点东西吧。”
32 耶稣对他们说∶“我有食物吃，你们对我吃的食物一无所知。”
33 门徒们互相询问∶“难道有人给他送过吃的东西了吗？”
34 耶稣说∶“我的食物就是执行派我来的那位的旨意，并完成他交给我的任务。 35 你们在播种的时候，常说∶‘再有四个月就收庄稼了。’好吧，我告诉你们，睁开眼睛，朝地里看看吧，庄稼已经成熟，该收割了。 36 即便是现在，收获的人得到报酬，他在为永生收获庄稼。所以，现在播种的人和收获的人一同快乐。 37 俗话说∶‘一人播种，另一个人收获。’此话不假。 38 我派你们去收获，你们是不劳而获，别人辛劳一场，而你们却坐享其成。”
39 许多来自那个城镇的撒玛利亚人都信了耶稣，因为那女子作证∶“我以往所做过的一切，都被他说中了。” 40 因此，撒玛利亚人来到耶稣那里，都请求他住下，耶稣就在那里住了两天， 41 因为耶稣所说的话，相信他的人就更多了。
42 他们对那女子说∶“我们刚开始信仰耶稣，是因为你告诉我们的事。但是，我们现在信，是因为我们亲耳听到了他的话，知道这个人的确是救世主。”
耶稣治愈官员的儿子
43 两天后，耶稣离开那里，返回加利利。 44 因为耶稣说过，先知在自己的故乡受不到尊敬。 45 耶稣来到加利利时，加利利人接受了他，因为在耶路撒冷过逾越节时，他们看到了他所做的一切。（因为加利利人也去过节了。）
46 耶稣又去了加利利的迦拿，他以前在那里把水变成了酒。迦百农有一个国王的大臣，他的儿子病了。 47 当他听说耶稣从犹太来到加利利时，便去见他，求耶稣去给儿子治病，因为，他的儿子快要死了。 48 耶稣对他说∶“你们不看到神迹和奇迹就不会相信。”
49 大臣说∶“先生，请您在我孩子没死之前，去一趟吧。”
50 耶稣说∶“回去吧，你的儿子会活的。”
那人相信了耶稣的话，走了。 51 当他还在回家的路上时，碰到了仆人，仆人告诉他孩子活过来了。
52 他问他们孩子是什么时候开始好转的，他们说∶“昨天下午一点钟退烧的。”
53 孩子的父亲意识到，那正是耶稣对他说∶“你的儿子会活的。”时刻。他和全家人都信仰了耶稣。
54 这是耶稣从犹太回到加利利后行的第二个奇迹。

Jesus Talks With a Samaritan Woman
4 Now Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that he was gaining and baptizing more disciples than John(A)— 2 although in fact it was not Jesus who baptized, but his disciples. 3 So he left Judea(B) and went back once more to Galilee.
4 Now he had to go through Samaria.(C) 5 So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph.(D) 6 Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon.
7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?”(E) 8 (His disciples had gone into the town(F) to buy food.)
9 The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan(G) woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.[a])
10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”(H)
11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well(I) and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?”
13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.(J) Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water(K) welling up to eternal life.”(L)
15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty(M) and have to keep coming here to draw water.”
16 He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.”
17 “I have no husband,” she replied.
Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. 18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.”
19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet.(N) 20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain,(O) but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.”(P)
21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming(Q) when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.(R) 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know;(S) we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews.(T) 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come(U) when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit(V) and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit,(W) and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
25 The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ)(X) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”
26 Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.”(Y)
The Disciples Rejoin Jesus
27 Just then his disciples returned(Z) and were surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked, “What do you want?” or “Why are you talking with her?”
28 Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did.(AA) Could this be the Messiah?”(AB) 30 They came out of the town and made their way toward him.
31 Meanwhile his disciples urged him, “Rabbi,(AC) eat something.”
32 But he said to them, “I have food to eat(AD) that you know nothing about.”
33 Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?”
34 “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will(AE) of him who sent me and to finish his work.(AF) 35 Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.(AG) 36 Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests(AH) a crop for eternal life,(AI) so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. 37 Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’(AJ) is true. 38 I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.”
Many Samaritans Believe
39 Many of the Samaritans from that town(AK) believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”(AL) 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. 41 And because of his words many more became believers.
42 They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”(AM)
Jesus Heals an Official’s Son
43 After the two days(AN) he left for Galilee. 44 (Now Jesus himself had pointed out that a prophet has no honor in his own country.)(AO) 45 When he arrived in Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him. They had seen all that he had done in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival,(AP) for they also had been there.
46 Once more he visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine.(AQ) And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum. 47 When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea,(AR) he went to him and begged him to come and heal his son, who was close to death.
48 “Unless you people see signs and wonders,”(AS) Jesus told him, “you will never believe.”
49 The royal official said, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”
50 “Go,” Jesus replied, “your son will live.”
The man took Jesus at his word and departed. 51 While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. 52 When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, “Yesterday, at one in the afternoon, the fever left him.”
53 Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” So he and his whole household(AT) believed.
54 This was the second sign(AU) Jesus performed after coming from Judea to Galilee.

4 Por tanto, cuando el Señor(A) supo que los fariseos habían oído que Él hacía y bautizaba(B) más discípulos que Juan 2 (aunque Jesús mismo no bautizaba(C), sino Sus discípulos(D)), 3 salió de Judea(E) y se fue otra vez para Galilea(F). 4 Y Él tenía que pasar por Samaria(G).
5 Llegó*, pues, a una ciudad de Samaria(H) llamada Sicar, cerca de la parcela de tierra que Jacob dio a su hijo José(I); 6 y allí estaba el pozo de Jacob. Entonces Jesús, cansado del camino, se sentó[a] junto al pozo. Era cerca del mediodía. 7 Una mujer de Samaria vino* a sacar agua, y Jesús le dijo*: «Dame de beber».
8 Pues Sus discípulos(J) habían ido a la ciudad(K) a comprar alimentos. 9 Entonces la mujer samaritana(L) le dijo*: «¿Cómo es que Tú, siendo judío, me pides de beber a mí, que soy samaritana?». (Porque los judíos no tienen tratos con los samaritanos(M)).
10 Jesús le respondió: «Si tú conocieras el don de Dios, y quién es el que te dice: “Dame de beber”, tú le habrías pedido a Él, y Él te hubiera dado agua viva(N)».
11 Ella le dijo*: «Señor, no tienes con qué sacarla, y el pozo es hondo; ¿de dónde, pues, tienes esa agua viva(O)? 12 ¿Acaso eres Tú mayor que nuestro padre Jacob, que nos dio el pozo(P) del cual bebió él mismo, y sus hijos, y sus ganados?».
13 Jesús le respondió: «Todo el que beba de esta agua volverá a tener sed, 14 pero el que beba del agua que Yo le daré, no tendrá sed jamás(Q), sino que el agua que Yo le daré se convertirá en él en una fuente de agua que brota para vida eterna(R)».
15 «Señor», le dijo* la mujer, «dame esa agua, para que no tenga sed(S) ni venga hasta aquí a sacarla». 16 Jesús le dijo*: «Ve, llama a tu marido y ven acá». 17 «No tengo marido», respondió la mujer. Jesús le dijo*: «Bien has dicho: “No tengo marido”, 18 porque cinco maridos has tenido, y el que ahora tienes no es tu marido; en eso has dicho la verdad».
19 La mujer le dijo*: «Señor, me parece que Tú eres profeta(T). 20 Nuestros padres adoraron(U) en este monte(V), y ustedes dicen que en Jerusalén(W) está el lugar donde se debe adorar».
21 Jesús le dijo*: «Mujer, cree lo que te digo: la hora viene(X)cuando ni en este monte ni en Jerusalén adorarán ustedes al Padre(Y). 22 Ustedes adoran lo que no conocen(Z); nosotros adoramos lo que conocemos, porque la salvación viene[b]de los judíos(AA). 23 Pero la hora viene, y ahora es(AB), cuando los verdaderos adoradores adorarán al Padre en espíritu(AC)y en verdad; porque ciertamente a los tales el Padre busca que lo adoren. 24 Dios es espíritu[c], y los que lo adoran deben adorar en espíritu(AD)y en verdad».
25 La mujer le dijo*: «Sé que el Mesías(AE) viene (el que es llamado Cristo(AF)); cuando Él venga nos declarará todo». 26 Jesús le dijo*: «Yo soy(AG), el que habla contigo».
27 En esto llegaron Sus discípulos(AH) y se admiraron de que hablara con una mujer, pero ninguno le preguntó: «¿Qué tratas de averiguar?» o: «¿Por qué hablas con ella?». 28 Entonces la mujer dejó su cántaro, fue a la ciudad y dijo* a los hombres: 29 «Vengan, vean a un hombre que me ha dicho todo lo que yo he hecho(AI). ¿No será este el Cristo[d](AJ)?». 30 Y salieron de la ciudad y fueron adonde Él estaba.
31 Mientras tanto, los discípulos le rogaban: «Rabí[e](AK), come». 32 Pero Él les dijo: «Yo tengo para comer una comida que ustedes no saben». 33 Entonces los discípulos(AL) se decían entre sí: «¿Le habrá traído alguien de comer?».
34 Jesús les dijo*: «Mi comida es hacer la voluntad del que me envió(AM)y llevar a cabo Su obra(AN). 35 ¿No dicen ustedes: “Todavía faltan cuatro meses, y después viene la siega”? Pero Yo les digo: alcen sus ojos y vean los campos que ya están blancos para la siega(AO). 36 Ya el segador recibe salario(AP)y recoge fruto(AQ)para vida eterna(AR), para que el que siembra se regocije junto con el que siega. 37 Porque en este caso el dicho es verdadero: “Uno es el que siembra y otro el que siega(AS)”. 38 Yo los envié a ustedes a segar lo que no han trabajado; otros han trabajado y ustedes han entrado en su labor».
39 Y de aquella ciudad(AT), muchos de los samaritanos creyeron en Él por la palabra de la mujer que daba testimonio, diciendo: «Él me dijo todo lo que yo he hecho(AU)». 40 De modo que cuando los samaritanos vinieron, rogaban a Jesús que se quedara con ellos; y Él se quedó allí dos días. 41 Muchos más creyeron por Su palabra, 42 y decían a la mujer: «Ya no creemos por lo que tú has dicho, porque nosotros mismos le hemos oído, y sabemos que Este es en verdad el Salvador del mundo(AV)».
43 Después de los dos días(AW), Jesús salió de allí para Galilea. 44 Porque Jesús mismo dio testimonio de que a un profeta no se le honra en su propia tierra(AX). 45 Así que cuando llegó a Galilea, los galileos lo recibieron, pues habían visto todo lo que Él hizo en Jerusalén durante la fiesta(AY); porque ellos también habían ido a la fiesta.
Curación del hijo de un oficial del rey
46 Entonces vino otra vez Jesús a Caná de Galilea(AZ), donde había convertido el agua en vino(BA). Y había allí cierto oficial del rey cuyo hijo estaba enfermo en Capernaúm(BB). 47 Cuando él oyó que Jesús había venido de Judea a Galilea(BC), fue a Su encuentro y le suplicaba que bajara y sanara a su hijo, porque estaba al borde de la muerte. 48 Jesús entonces le dijo: «Si ustedes no ven señales y prodigios(BD), no creerán». 49 El oficial del rey le dijo*: «Señor, baja antes de que mi hijo muera». 50 «Puedes irte, tu hijo vive», le dijo* Jesús. Y el hombre creyó la palabra que Jesús le dijo, y se fue(BE). 51 Y mientras bajaba a su casa, sus siervos le salieron al encuentro y le dijeron que su hijo[f] vivía. 52 Entonces les preguntó a qué hora había empezado a mejorar. Y le respondieron: «Ayer a la una de la tarde[g] se le quitó[h] la fiebre».
53 El padre entonces se dio cuenta que fue a la hora en que Jesús le dijo: «Tu hijo vive». Y creyó él con toda su casa(BF). 54 Esta[i] fue la segunda señal[j](BG) que Jesús hizo cuando fue de Judea a Galilea(BH).
