耶穌在海邊向七個門徒顯現
21 這些事以後，耶穌在提比里亞海邊再次向門徒顯現。他顯現的經過是這樣的： 2 當時西門．彼得、稱為“雙生子”的多馬、加利利的迦拿人拿但業、西庇太的兩個兒子，和另外兩個門徒都聚在一起。 3 西門．彼得對他們說：“我要打魚去。”他們說：“我們也跟你一起去。”於是他們出去，上了船，可是那一夜他們並沒有打到甚麼。 4 清早的時候，耶穌站在岸邊；門徒卻不知道他就是耶穌。 5 耶穌對他們說：“孩子們，打到魚沒有？”他們回答：“沒有。” 6 耶穌說：“把網撒在船的右邊，就可以得著。”他們就把網撒下去，可是拉不上來，因為魚太多。 7 耶穌所愛的那門徒對彼得說：“是主！”西門．彼得一聽見是主，就立刻束上外衣（因為他當時赤著身子），縱身跳進海裡。 8 其他的門徒，因為離岸不遠（約有一百公尺），就坐在小船上，把那網魚拖過來。 9 他們上了岸，就看見那裡有一堆炭火，上面有魚有餅。 10 耶穌對他們說：“把你們剛才打的魚拿幾條來。” 11 西門．彼得就上船，把網拉到岸上；那網滿了大魚，共有一百五十三條。魚雖然這麼多，網卻沒有破。 12 耶穌對他們說：“你們來，吃早飯吧。”門徒中沒有一個人敢問他：“你是誰？”因為知道他是主。 13 耶穌走過來，拿餅遞給他們，又照樣拿魚遞給他們。 14 這是耶穌從死人中復活之後，第三次向門徒顯現。
耶穌三次問彼得是否愛他
15 他們吃了早飯，耶穌問西門．彼得：“約翰的兒子西門，你愛我比這些更深嗎？”他回答：“主啊，是的，你知道我愛你。”耶穌說：“你餵養我的小羊。” 16 耶穌第二次又問他：“約翰的兒子西門，你愛我嗎？”他回答：“主啊，是的，你知道我愛你。”耶穌說：“你牧養我的羊。” 17 耶穌第三次問他：“約翰的兒子西門，你愛我嗎？”彼得因為耶穌第三次問他：“你愛我嗎？”就憂愁起來，對耶穌說：“主啊，你是無所不知的，你知道我愛你。”耶穌說：“你餵養我的羊。 18 我實實在在告訴你，你年輕的時候，自己束上腰帶，隨意往來；但到了年老的時候，你要伸出手來，別人要把你綁著，帶你到你不願意去的地方。” 19 耶穌說這話，是指明彼得將怎樣死，來榮耀 神。說了這話，就對彼得說：“你跟從我吧！”
耶穌所愛的那門徒
20 彼得轉過身來，看見耶穌所愛的那門徒跟著，就是在晚飯的時候，靠著耶穌的胸膛，問“主啊，出賣你的是誰？”的那個人。 21 彼得看見他，就問耶穌：“主啊，這個人將來怎麼樣？” 22 耶穌回答他：“如果我要他活到我來的時候，跟你有甚麼關係呢？你只管跟從我吧！” 23 於是這話流傳在弟兄中間，說那門徒不會死。其實耶穌並沒有對他說他不會死，只是說：“如果我要他活到我來的時候，跟你有甚麼關係呢？”
24 為這些事作證，並且記述這些事的，就是這門徒；我們知道他的見證是真實的。
25 耶穌所行的，還有許多其他的事；如果都一一寫下來，所要寫成的書，我想就是這個世界也容不下了。

Breakfast by the Sea
21 After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the (A)Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself: 2 Simon Peter, (B)Thomas called the Twin, (C)Nathanael of (D)Cana in Galilee, (E)the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.”
They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and [a]immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. 4 But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples (F)did not know that it was Jesus. 5 Then (G)Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?”
They answered Him, “No.”
6 And He said to them, (H)“Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.
7 Therefore (I)that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea. 8 But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish. 9 Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. 10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.”
11 Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken. 12 Jesus said to them, (J)“Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?”—knowing that it was the Lord. 13 Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish.
14 This is now (K)the third time Jesus showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead.
Jesus Restores Peter
15 So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of [b]Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”
He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I [c]love You.”
He said to him, (L)“Feed My lambs.”
16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of [d]Jonah, do you love Me?”
He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I [e]love You.”
(M)He said to him, “Tend My (N)sheep.”
17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of [f]Jonah, do you [g]love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?”
And he said to Him, “Lord, (O)You know all things; You know that I love You.”
Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. 18 (P)Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” 19 This He spoke, signifying (Q)by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, (R)“Follow Me.”
The Beloved Disciple and His Book
20 Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple (S)whom Jesus loved following, (T)who also had leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?” 21 Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, “But Lord, what about this man?”
22 Jesus said to him, “If I [h]will that he remain (U)till I come, what is that to you? You follow Me.”
23 Then this saying went out among the brethren that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but, “If I will that he remain till I come, what is that to you?”
24 This is the disciple who (V)testifies of these things, and wrote these things; and we know that his testimony is true.
25 (W)And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, (X)I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.

Jesus and the Miraculous Catch of Fish
21 Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples,(A) by the Sea of Galilee.[a](B) It happened this way: 2 Simon Peter, Thomas(C) (also known as Didymus[b]), Nathanael(D) from Cana in Galilee,(E) the sons of Zebedee,(F) and two other disciples were together. 3 “I’m going out to fish,” Simon Peter told them, and they said, “We’ll go with you.” So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.(G)
4 Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.(H)
5 He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?”
“No,” they answered.
6 He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.(I)
7 Then the disciple whom Jesus loved(J) said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, “It is the Lord,” he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water. 8 The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards.[c] 9 When they landed, they saw a fire(K) of burning coals there with fish on it,(L) and some bread.
10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” 11 So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn. 12 Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” None of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. 13 Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.(M) 14 This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples(N) after he was raised from the dead.
Jesus Reinstates Peter
15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”
“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”(O)
Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”(P)
16 Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”(Q)
17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?”(R) He said, “Lord, you know all things;(S) you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.(T) 18 Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” 19 Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death(U) by which Peter would glorify God.(V) Then he said to him, “Follow me!”(W)
20 Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved(X) was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, “Lord, who is going to betray you?”)(Y) 21 When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?”
22 Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return,(Z) what is that to you? You must follow me.”(AA) 23 Because of this, the rumor spread among the believers(AB) that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?”
24 This is the disciple who testifies to these things(AC) and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.(AD)
25 Jesus did many other things as well.(AE) If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

Later, Jesus Meets The Disciples By The Sea of Galilee
21 After these things Jesus manifested Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias[a]. And He manifested Himself as follows: 2 Simon Peter, and Thomas (the one being called Didymus), and Nathanael (the one from Cana of Galilee), and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of His disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter says to them, “I am going to fish”. They say to him, “We are also coming with you”. They went out and got into the boat. And during that night they caught nothing. 4 Now having already become early-morning, Jesus stood at the shore. But the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 So Jesus says to them, “Children[b], you do not have any fish-to-eat, do you?” They answered Him, “No”. 6 And the One said to them, “Cast the net to the right side of the boat and you will find them”. So they cast it, and they were no longer strong-enough to draw it [into the boat] because of the multitude of the fish. 7 Then that disciple whom Jesus was loving says to Peter, “It is the Lord”. So Simon Peter, having heard that it was the Lord, tied his outer-garment around himself (for he was naked[c]), and threw himself into the sea. 8 But the other disciples came in the small-boat (for they were not far from the land, but about two-hundred cubits[d] away)— dragging the net of fish. 9 Then when they got out to the land, they see a charcoal-fire lying there, and fish lying upon it, and bread. 10 Jesus says to them, “Bring from the fish which you now caught”. 11 So Simon Peter went up and drew the net to land, full of large fish— a hundred fifty three. And though being so many, the net was not torn. 12 Jesus says to them, “Come, eat-breakfast”. And none of the disciples was daring to question Him, “Who are You?”, knowing that it was the Lord. 13 Jesus comes and takes the bread and gives it to them, and the fish likewise. 14 This is now the third[e] time Jesus was manifested to the disciples after having arisen from the dead.
At Breakfast, Jesus Restores Peter. Do You Love Me? Feed My Sheep
15 Then when they ate-breakfast, Jesus says to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you devotedly-love[f] Me more than these[g]?” He says to Him, “Yes, Lord. You know that I affectionately-love You”. He says to him, “Be feeding My lambs”. 16 He says to him again a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you devotedly-love Me?” He says to Him, “Yes, Lord. You know that I affectionately-love You”. He says to him, “Be shepherding My sheep”. 17 He says to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you affectionately-love Me?” Peter was grieved because[h] He said to him the third time, “Do you affectionately-love Me?”. And he says to Him, “Lord, You know all things. You recognize[i] that I affectionately-love You”. Jesus says to him, “Be feeding My sheep. 18 Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger you were girding[j] yourself and walking where you were wanting to go. But when you become-old[k], you will stretch-out your hands and another will gird you and[l] bring you where you are not wanting to go”. 19 Now this He said signifying by what kind[m] of death he will glorify God. And having said this, He says to him, “Be following Me!”
Peter Asks Jesus About John
20 Peter, having turned around, sees the disciple[n] following them whom Jesus was loving— the one who also leaned back on His chest during dinner and said, “Lord, who is the one handing You over?” 21 So Peter, having looked-at this one, says to Jesus, “Lord, and what of this one? 22 Jesus says to him, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is it to you? You be following Me!” 23 Therefore this statement went out to the brothers, that “that disciple does not die”. But Jesus did not say to him that he does not die, but “If I want him to remain until I come, what is it to you?”
John Concludes The Book
24 This[o] one is the disciple testifying about these things, and[p] the one having written these things, and we know that his testimony is true. 25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they should be written individually, I suppose that not even the world itself would have-room-for the books being written.
