20 礼拜日清早，天还没有亮的时候，抹大拉的马利亚来到墓旁，看见石头已经从坟墓移开了。 2 她就跑去见西门．彼得，和耶稣所爱的那个门徒，对他们说：“有人把主从坟墓里搬走了，我们不知道他们把他放在哪里。” 3 彼得和那门徒就动身，到坟墓那里去。 4 两个人一齐跑，那门徒比彼得跑得快，先到了坟墓， 5 屈身向里面观看，看见细麻布还在那里，但他却没有进去。 6 西门．彼得随后也到了；他进入坟墓，看见细麻布还放在那里， 7 也看见耶稣的裹头巾，没有和细麻布放在一起，而是卷着放在一边。 8 那时，先到坟墓的那门徒也进去，他看见，就信了。 9 他们还不明白经上所说“他必须从死人中复活”这句话的意思。 10 于是两个门徒就回家去了。

11 马利亚站在坟墓外面哭泣。她哭的时候，屈身往里面观看， 12 看见两个身穿白衣的天使，坐在安放耶稣身体的地方，一个在头那边，一个在脚那边。 13 天使问她：“妇人，你为甚么哭？”她说：“有人把我的主搬走了，我不知道他们把他放在哪里。” 14 马利亚说了这话，就转过身来，看见耶稣站在那里，却不知道他就是耶稣。 15 耶稣对她说：“妇人，你为甚么哭？你找谁呢？”马利亚以为耶稣是园丁，就对他说：“先生，如果是你把他挪去了，请告诉我你把他放在甚么地方，我好去搬回来。” 16 耶稣对她说：“马利亚！”她转过身来，用希伯来话对他说：“拉波尼！”（就是“老师”的意思。） 17 耶稣说：“你不要拉住我，因为我还没有上去见父。你要到我的弟兄们那里去，告诉他们我要上去见我的父，也是你们的父；见我的 神，也是你们的 神。” 18 抹大拉的马利亚就去，向门徒报信说：“我已经看见主了！”她又把主对她所说的话告诉他们。

19 礼拜日黄昏的时候，门徒聚在一起，因为怕犹太人，就把门户都关上。耶稣来了，站在他们中间，说：“愿你们平安。” 20 说了这话，就把手和肋旁给他们看。门徒看见主，就欢喜了。 21 耶稣又对他们说：“愿你们平安。父怎样差遣了我，我也怎样差遣你们。” 22 说了这话，就向他们吹一口气，说：“你们领受圣灵吧！ 23 你们赦免谁的罪，谁的罪就得赦免；你们不赦免谁的罪，谁的罪就不得赦免。”

24 十二个门徒中，有一个称为“双生子”（“双生子”原文作“低土马”）的多马。耶稣来的时候，他没有和门徒在一起。 25 其他的门徒对他说：“我们已经见过主了。”多马对他们说：“除非我亲眼看见他手上的钉痕，用我的指头探入那钉痕，又用我的手探入他的肋旁，我决不相信。” 26 过了八天，门徒又在屋子里，多马也和他们在一起。门户都关上了。耶稣来了，站在他们中间，说：“愿你们平安。” 27 然后对多马说：“把你的指头放在这里，看看我的手吧！伸出你的手来，探探我的肋旁！不要疑惑，只要信！” 28 多马对他说：“我的主！我的 神！” 29 耶稣说：“你因为看见我才信吗？那些没有看见就信的人，是有福的。”

30 耶稣在门徒面前还行了许多别的神迹，没有记在这书上。 31 但把这些事记下来，是要你们信耶稣是基督，是 神的儿子，并且使你们信了，可以因他的名得生命。

20 週日清晨，天還未亮，抹大拉的瑪麗亞就來到墳墓前，發現封住墓口的石頭已經挪開了。 2 她趕快跑去告訴西門·彼得和耶穌所愛的那個門徒，說：「有人把主從墳墓裡搬走了，不知放到哪裡去了。」
3 彼得和那個門徒聽了就出去，往墳墓那邊跑。 4 兩個人一起跑，但那個門徒比彼得跑得快，所以先到了墳墓。 5 他並沒有進去，只是探頭往裡看，看見細麻布還在那裡。 6 西門·彼得隨後也來了，他進到裡邊，看到細麻布放在那裡， 7 耶穌的裹頭巾則捲著放在另一處，沒有和細麻布放在一起。 8 先到的那個門徒也進來了，看見這種情形，就信了。 9 因為他們還不明白聖經上有關耶穌必要從死裡復活的話。 10 然後，他們各自回家去了。

瑪麗亞還以為祂是園丁，就說：「先生，如果是你把祂搬走了，請告訴我放在哪裡了，我好搬回來。」
16 耶穌說：「瑪麗亞。」
瑪麗亞立即轉過頭來用希伯來話對祂說：「拉波尼！」拉波尼的意思是老師。
17 耶穌說：「不要拉著我，我還沒有升到父那裡。你先去找我的眾弟兄，告訴他們我要升天去見我的父，也是你們的父；去見我的上帝，也是你們的上帝。」
18 抹大拉的瑪麗亞就去向門徒報訊，說：「我看見主了！」又把主對她說的話告訴門徒。

19 當天晚上，即週日晚上，門徒因為害怕猶太人，把房門都關上了。忽然，耶穌來了，站在他們當中，對他們說：「願你們平安！」 20 說完，讓他們看祂的手和肋旁。門徒看見主，十分歡喜。
21 耶穌又說：「願你們平安。父怎樣差遣我，我也照樣差遣你們。」 22 然後祂向他們吹了一口氣，說：「你們領受聖靈吧！ 23 你們赦免誰的罪，誰的罪就得到赦免；你們不赦免誰的罪，誰的罪就得不到赦免。」

24 耶穌顯現的時候，十二個門徒中綽號「雙胞胎」的多馬不在場。 25 其他門徒告訴他：「我們看見主了！」可是多馬說：「除非我親眼看見祂手上的釘痕，用手摸到祂手上的釘痕和祂的肋旁，否則我決不信。」
26 過了八天，門徒又聚在一起，多馬也在，門都關著。突然耶穌來了，站在他們當中說：「願你們平安！」 27 然後對多馬說：「把你的指頭放在我手上摸摸看，伸出手來摸摸我的肋旁。不要懷疑，要信！」
28 多馬回答說：「我的主，我的上帝！」
29 耶穌說：「你看見我才信，那些沒有看見就信的人有福了。」
30 耶穌在門徒面前還行了許多神蹟，只是沒有記在這本書裡。 31 而記載這些事的目的是為了使你們相信耶穌就是基督，是上帝的兒子，並且使你們這些信祂的人可以靠祂的名得到生命。

Jesus’ Tomb Is Empty
20 Early on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb. It was still dark. Mary saw that the large stone had been moved away from the tomb. 2 So Mary ran to Simon Peter and the other follower (the one Jesus loved). Mary said, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb. We don’t know where they have put him.”
3 So Peter and the other follower started for the tomb. 4 They were both running, but the other follower ran faster than Peter. So the other follower reached the tomb first. 5 He bent down and looked in. He saw the strips of linen cloth lying there, but he did not go in. 6 Then following him came Simon Peter. He went into the tomb and saw the strips of linen lying there. 7 He also saw the cloth that had been around Jesus’ head. The cloth was folded up and laid in a different place from the strips of linen. 8 Then the other follower, who had reached the tomb first, also went in. He saw and believed. 9 (These followers did not yet understand from the Scriptures that Jesus must rise from death.)

10 Then the followers went back home. 11 But Mary stood outside the tomb, crying. While she was still crying, she bent down and looked inside the tomb. 12 She saw two angels dressed in white. They were sitting where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and one at the feet.
13 They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?”
She answered, “They have taken away my Lord. I don’t know where they have put him.” 14 When Mary said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there. But she did not know that it was Jesus.
15 Jesus asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Whom are you looking for?”
Mary thought he was the gardener. So she said to him, “Did you take him away, sir? Tell me where you put him, and I will get him.”
16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.”
Mary turned toward Jesus and said in the Jewish language,[a] “Rabboni.” (This means Teacher.)
17 Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold me. I have not yet gone up to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them this: ‘I am going back to my Father and your Father. I am going back to my God and your God.’”
18 Mary Magdalene went and said to the followers, “I saw the Lord!” And she told them what Jesus had said to her.
Jesus Appears to His Followers
19 It was the first day of the week. That evening Jesus’ followers were together. The doors were locked, because they were afraid of the Jews. Then Jesus came and stood among them. He said, “Peace be with you!” 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. His followers were very happy when they saw the Lord.
21 Then Jesus said again, “Peace be with you! As the Father sent me, I now send you.” 22 After he said this, he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven. If you don’t forgive them, they are not forgiven.”
Jesus Appears to Thomas
24 Thomas (called Didymus) was not with the followers when Jesus came. Thomas was 1 of the 12. 25 The other followers told Thomas, “We saw the Lord.”
But Thomas said, “I will not believe it until I see the nail marks in his hands. And I will not believe until I put my finger where the nails were and put my hand into his side.”
26 A week later the followers were in the house again. Thomas was with them. The doors were locked, but Jesus came in and stood among them. He said, “Peace be with you!” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here. Look at my hands. Put your hand here in my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Then Jesus told him, “You believe because you see me. Those who believe without seeing me will be truly happy.”
Why John Wrote This Book
30 Jesus did many other miracles before his followers that are not written in this book. 31 But these are written so that you can believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. Then, by believing, you can have life through his name.

20 (A)Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that (B)the stone had been taken away from the tomb. 2 So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, (C)the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and (D)we do not know where they have laid him.” 3 (E)So Peter went out with the other disciple, and they were going toward the tomb. 4 Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5 And stooping to look in, he saw (F)the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. 6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. 24 Now (AK)Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin,[d] was not with them when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, (AL)“Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.”
26 Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. (AM)Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, (AN)“Peace be with you.” 27 Then he said to Thomas, (AO)“Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” 28 Thomas answered him, (AP)“My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? (AQ)Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
The Purpose of This Book
30 (AR)Now Jesus did many other signs (AS)in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 (AT)but these are written so that you may (AU)believe that Jesus is the Christ, (AV)the Son of God, and that by believing (AW)you may have life (AX)in his name.
