變水為酒
2 第三天，在加利利的迦拿有人舉辦婚宴，耶穌的母親在那裡。 2 耶穌和門徒也被邀請去赴宴。 3 酒喝完了，耶穌的母親就對祂說：「他們沒有酒了。」 4 耶穌說：「婦人，這跟你我有什麼相干[a]？我的時候還沒有到。」 5 祂母親對僕人說：「祂叫你們做什麼，你們就做什麼。」 6 那裡有六口猶太人用來行潔淨禮儀的石缸，每口可以盛約一百升水。
7 耶穌對僕人說：「把缸倒滿水！」他們就往缸裡倒水，一直滿到缸口。 8 耶穌又說：「現在可以舀些出來，送給宴席總管。」他們就送了去。 9 那些僕人知道這酒是怎樣來的，宴席總管卻不知道。他嚐過那水變的酒後，便把新郎叫來， 10 對他說：「人們都是先拿好酒款待客人，等客人喝夠了，才把次等的拿出來，你卻把好酒留到現在！」 11 這是耶穌第一次行神蹟，是在加利利的迦拿行的，彰顯了祂的榮耀，門徒都信了祂。
12 這事以後，耶穌和祂的母親、弟弟並門徒一起去迦百農住了幾天。
潔淨聖殿
13 猶太人的逾越節快到了，耶穌便上耶路撒冷去。 14 祂看見聖殿區有人在賣牛羊和鴿子，還有人在兌換銀幣， 15 就用繩索做成鞭子把牛羊趕出去，倒掉錢商的銀幣，推翻他們的桌子， 16 又對賣鴿子的說：「把這些東西拿出去！不要把我父的殿當作市場。」 17 祂的門徒想起聖經上說：「我對你的殿充滿炙熱的愛。」
18 當時，猶太人質問祂：「你給我們顯什麼神蹟來證明你有權這樣做？」
19 耶穌回答說：「你們拆毀這座殿，我三天之內會把它重建起來。」
20 他們說：「這座殿用了四十六年才建成，你三天之內就要把它重建起來嗎？」 21 其實耶穌說的殿是指自己的身體， 22 所以等到祂從死裡復活以後，祂的門徒想起這句話，就相信了聖經和耶穌所傳的道。
23 耶穌在耶路撒冷過逾越節期間，許多人看見祂行的神蹟，就信了祂。 24 耶穌卻不信任他們，因為祂洞悉萬人。 25 不用別人告訴祂，祂也深知人的內心。

2 On Tuesday[a] there was a wedding at Kanah in the Galil; and the mother of Yeshua was there. 2 Yeshua too was invited to the wedding, along with his talmidim. 3 The wine ran out, and Yeshua’s mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” 4 Yeshua replied, “Mother, why should that concern me? — or you? My time hasn’t come yet.” 5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 6 Now six stone water-jars were standing there for the Jewish ceremonial washings, each with a capacity of twenty or thirty gallons. 7 Yeshua told them, “Fill the jars with water,” and they filled them to the brim. 8 He said, “Now draw some out, and take it to the man in charge of the banquet”; and they took it. 9 The man in charge tasted the water; it had now turned into wine! He did not know where it had come from, but the servants who had drawn the water knew. So he called the bridegroom 10 and said to him, “Everyone else serves the good wine first and the poorer wine after people have drunk freely. But you have kept the good wine until now!” 11 This, the first of Yeshua’s miraculous signs, he did at Kanah in the Galil; he manifested his glory, and his talmidim came to trust in him. 12 Afterwards, he, his mother and brothers, and his talmidim went down to K’far-Nachum and stayed there a few days.
13 It was almost time for the festival of Pesach in Y’hudah, so Yeshua went up to Yerushalayim. 14 In the Temple grounds he found those who were selling cattle, sheep and pigeons, and others who were sitting at tables exchanging money. 15 He made a whip from cords and drove them all out of the Temple grounds, the sheep and cattle as well. He knocked over the money-changers’ tables, scattering their coins; 16 and to the pigeon-sellers he said, “Get these things out of here! How dare you turn my Father’s house into a market?” 17 (His talmidim later recalled that the Tanakh says, “Zeal for your house will devour me.” )[b] 18 So the Judeans confronted him by asking him, “What miraculous sign can you show us to prove you have the right to do all this?” 19 Yeshua answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again.” 20 The Judeans said, “It took 46 years to build this Temple, and you’re going to raise it in three days?” 21 But the “temple” he had spoken of was his body. 22 Therefore, when he was raised from the dead, his talmidim remembered that he had said this, and they trusted in the Tanakh and in what Yeshua had said.
23 Now while Yeshua was in Yerushalayim at the Pesach festival, there were many people who “believed in his name” when they saw the miracles he performed. 24 But he did not commit himself to them, for he knew what people are like — 25 that is, he didn’t need anyone to inform him about a person, because he knew what was in the person’s heart.

Jesus Changes Water into Wine
2 On the third day of that week[a] there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother told him, “They don’t have any more wine.”
4 “How does that concern us, dear lady?”[b] Jesus asked her. “My time hasn’t come yet.”
5 His mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
6 Now standing there were six stone water jars used for the Jewish rites of purification, each one holding from two to three measures.[c] 7 Jesus told the servants,[d] “Fill the jars with water.” So they filled them up to the brim. 8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the man in charge of the banquet.” So they did.
9 When the man in charge of the banquet tasted the water that had become wine (without knowing where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew), he[e] called for the bridegroom 10 and told him, “Everyone serves the best wine first, and the cheap kind when people[f] are drunk. But you have kept the best wine until now!” 11 Jesus did this, the first[g] of his signs, in Cana of Galilee. He revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
12 After this, Jesus[h] went down to Capernaum—he, his mother, his brothers, and his disciples—and they remained there for a few days.
Confrontation in the Temple over Money(A)
13 The Jewish Passover was near, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the Temple he found people selling cattle, sheep, and doves, as well as moneychangers sitting at their tables. 15 After making a whip out of cords, he drove all of them out of the Temple, including the sheep and the cattle. He scattered the coins of the moneychangers and knocked over their tables.
16 Then he told those who were selling the doves, “Take these things out of here! Stop making my Father’s house a marketplace!” 17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.”[i]
18 Then the Jewish leaders[j] asked him, “What sign can you show us as authority for doing these things?”
19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will rebuild it.”
20 The Jewish leaders[k] said, “This sanctuary has been under construction for 46 years, and you’re going to rebuild it in three days?” 21 But the sanctuary he was speaking about was his own body. 22 After he had been raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this. So they believed the Scripture and the statement that Jesus had made.[l]
Jesus Knows All People
23 While Jesus[m] was in Jerusalem for the Passover Festival, many people believed in him[n] because they saw the signs that he was doing. 24 Jesus, however, did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people 25 and didn’t need anyone to tell him what people were like, because he himself knew what was in every person.[o]
