拿住耶稣
12 那队兵和千夫长并犹太人的差役就拿住耶稣，把他捆绑了， 13 先带到亚那面前，因为亚那是本年做大祭司该亚法的岳父。 14 这该亚法就是从前向犹太人发议论说“一个人替百姓死是有益的”那位。
彼得初次不认主

19 大祭司就以耶稣的门徒和他的教训盘问他。 20 耶稣回答说：“我从来是明明地对世人说话。我常在会堂和殿里，就是犹太人聚集的地方教训人，我在暗地里并没有说什么。 21 你为什么问我呢？可以问那听见的人我对他们说的是什么，我所说的，他们都知道。” 22 耶稣说了这话，旁边站着的一个差役用手掌打他，说：“你这样回答大祭司吗？” 23 耶稣说：“我若说的不是，你可以指证那不是。我若说得是，你为什么打我呢？” 24 亚那就把耶稣解到大祭司该亚法那里，仍是捆着解去的。
彼得二次三次不认主
25 西门彼得正站着烤火，有人对他说：“你不也是他的门徒吗？”彼得不承认，说：“我不是。” 26 有大祭司的一个仆人，是彼得削掉耳朵那人的亲属，说：“我不是看见你同他在园子里吗？” 27 彼得又不承认。立时鸡就叫了。
28 众人将耶稣从该亚法那里往衙门内解去，那时天还早。他们自己却不进衙门，恐怕染了污秽，不能吃逾越节的筵席。 29 彼拉多就出来，到他们那里，说：“你们告这人是为什么事呢？” 30 他们回答说：“这人若不是作恶的，我们就不把他交给你。” 31 彼拉多说：“你们自己带他去，按着你们的律法审问他吧！”犹太人说：“我们没有杀人的权柄。” 32 这要应验耶稣所说自己将要怎样死的话了。
耶稣在彼拉多前受审
33 彼拉多又进了衙门，叫耶稣来，对他说：“你是犹太人的王吗？” 34 耶稣回答说：“这话是你自己说的，还是别人论我对你说的呢？” 35 彼拉多说：“我岂是犹太人呢？你本国的人和祭司长把你交给我。你做了什么事呢？” 36 耶稣回答说：“我的国不属这世界。我的国若属这世界，我的臣仆必要争战，使我不至于被交给犹太人。只是我的国不属这世界。” 37 彼拉多就对他说：“这样，你是王吗？”耶稣回答说：“你说我是王。我为此而生，也为此来到世间，特为给真理作见证。凡属真理的人就听我的话。”
查不出耶稣有什么罪
38 彼拉多说：“真理是什么呢？”说了这话，又出来到犹太人那里，对他们说：“我查不出他有什么罪来。 39 但你们有个规矩，在逾越节要我给你们释放一个人，你们要我给你们释放犹太人的王吗？” 40 他们又喊着说：“不要这人！要巴拉巴！”这巴拉巴是个强盗。

예수님이 체포되심
18 예수님은 기도를 마치시고 제자들과 함께 기드론 [a]골짜기를 건너 맞 은편에 있는 동산으로 들어가셨다.
2 거기는 예수님이 제자들과 가끔 모이던 곳이어서 그분을 팔아 넘기려는 유다도 알고 있었다.
3 유다가 한 떼의 로마 군인들과 그리고 대제사장들과 바리새파 사람들이 보낸 성전 경비병들을 데리고 그 곳에 왔는데 그들은 등과 횃불과 무기를 가지고 있었다.
4 예수님은 자기가 당할 모든 일을 아시고 앞으로 나오시며 “너희가 누구를 찾느냐?” 하고 물으셨다.
5 그들이 “나사렛 예수를 찾고 있소” 하고 대답하자 예수님은 “내가 바로 그 사람이다” 하고 말씀하셨다. 그때 예수님을 팔아 넘기려는 유다도 그들과 함께 서 있었다.
6 그들은 “내가 바로 그 사람이다” 라고 하신 예수님의 말씀에 놀라 뒷걸음을 치다가 땅바닥에 넘어졌다.
7 예수님이 다시 그들에게 “너희가 누구를 찾느냐?” 하고 물으시자 그들은 “나사렛 예수요” 하고 대답하였다.
8 그래서 예수님이 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “나는 너희에게 내가 바로 그 사람이라고 말하였다. 너희가 나를 찾는다면 이 사람들은 가게 하라.”
9 예수님이 이렇게 말씀하신 것은 “아버지께서 내게 주신 사람은 내가 하나도 잃지 않았습니다” 라는 말씀이 이루어지도록 하기 위해서였다.
10 이때 시몬 베드로가 칼을 뽑아 대제사장의 종, 말고의 오른쪽 귀를 쳐서 잘라 버렸다.
11 그러자 예수님이 베드로에게 “네 칼을 도로 칼집에 꽂아라. 아버지께서 내게 주신 고난의 잔을 내가 마셔야 하지 않겠느냐?” 하고 말씀하셨다.
12 그래서 로마 군인들과 그들의 [b]지휘관과 유대인의 성전 경비병들이 예수님을 잡아 묶어서
13 먼저 안나스에게 끌고 갔다. 안나스는 그 해의 대제사장인 가야바의 장인이었으며
14 가야바는 유대인들에게 한 사람이 죽어 온 백성을 살리는 것이 더 유익하다고 조언해 준 사람이었다.
15 시몬 베드로와 다른 제자 하나가 예수님을 뒤따랐다. 그 제자는 대제사장과 잘 아는 사이였으므로 예수님과 함께 그 집 안뜰까지 들어갔으나
16 베드로는 혼자 대문 밖에 서 있었다. 대제사장과 잘 아는 그 제자는 다시 나와 문지기 여자에게 말하여 베드로를 데리고 들어갔다.
17 이 문지기 여종이 베드로에게 “당신도 이 사람의 제자가 아니오?” 하고 묻자 “나는 아니오” 하고 베드로가 대답하였다.
18 날이 추워 종들과 경비병들이 불을 피우고 둘러서서 쬐고 있었다. 그래서 베드로도 그들과 함께 서서 불을 쬐었다.
19 대제사장이 예수님께 제자들과 그의 가르침에 대해 묻자
20 예수님은 이렇게 대답하셨다. “나는 터놓고 세상에 말하였다. 내가 언제나 유대인들이 다 모이는 회당과 성전에서 가르치고 비밀리에 말한 것은 아무것도 없는데
21 어째서 나에게 묻느냐? 내가 무슨 말을 했는지 들은 사람들에게 물어 보아라. 그들은 내가 한 말을 알고 있다.”
22 그러자 곁에 섰던 한 경비병이 예수님의 뺨을 치며 “대제사장에게 대답하는 태도가 그게 뭐냐?” 하였다.
23 예수님은 그에게 “내가 말을 잘못했다면 잘못한 증거를 대라. 그렇지 않고 내가 바른 말을 했다면 어째서 네가 나를 치느냐?” 하고 말씀하셨다.
24 안나스는 예수님을 묶은 그대로 대제사장 가야바에게 보냈다.
25 시몬 베드로가 서서 불을 쬐고 있는데 사람들이 그에게 “당신도 저 사람의 제자가 아니오?” 하고 물었다. 그래서 베드로는 “나는 아니오” 하고 딱 잡아떼었다.
26 이때 베드로에게 귀를 잘린 종의 친척 되는 대제사장의 다른 종이 “당신이 그 사람과 함께 동산에 있는 것을 내가 보았는데도 아니라고 우길 셈이오?” 하였다.
27 베드로가 다시 모르는 일이라고 시치미를 떼자 곧 닭이 울었다.
빌라도 앞에 선 예수님
28 이른 아침 [c]유대인 지도자들은 가야바의 집에서 예수님을 끌고 총독의 관저로 갔다. 그러나 그들은 더럽혀지지 않고 유월절 음식을 먹으려고 총독의 관저 안으로 들어가지 않았다.
29 그래서 빌라도가 밖으로 나와 그들에게 “무슨 일로 이 사람을 고소하시오?” 하고 물었다.
30 그러자 그들은 “이 사람이 악한 일을 하지 않았다면 우리가 당신에게 넘기지 않았을 것입니다” 하고 대답하였다.
31 그때 빌라도가 “그를 데리고 가서 당신들의 법대로 재판하시오” 하자 유대인들이 “우리에게는 사람을 죽이는 권한이 없습니다” 하고 대답하였다.
32 일이 이렇게 된 것은 예수님이 자기가 당하실 죽음에 대해서 이야기하신 그 말씀이 이루어지기 위해서였다.
33 그래서 빌라도는 다시 관저로 들어가서 예수님을 불러 물었다. “네가 유대인의 왕이냐?”
34 “그것이 네 생각이냐, 아니면 다른 사람들이 나에 대해서 너에게 한 말이냐?”
35 “너는 내가 유대인이라고 생각하느냐? 네 동족과 대제사장들이 너를 나에게 넘겼다. 도대체 네가 무슨 짓을 했느냐?”
36 “내 나라는 이 세상에 속하지 않았다. 만일 내 나라가 이 세상에 속했다면 내 종들이 싸워 내가 유대인들에게 넘어가지 않게 했을 것이다. 그러나 내 나라는 이 세상에 속한 것이 아니다.”
37 “그렇다면 네가 왕이란 말이냐?” “그렇다. 네 말대로 나는 왕이다. 사실 나는 진리를 증거하려고 났으며 이것을 위해 세상에 왔다. 누구든지 [d]진리의 편에 선 사람은 내 말을 듣는다.”
38 그때 빌라도는 “진리가 무엇이냐?” 하였다. 그러고서 그는 다시 밖으로 나가서 유대인들에게 말하였다. “나는 그에게서 아무 죄도 찾지 못하였소.
39 유월절이 되면 내가 여러분에게 죄수 하나를 석방하는 전례가 있는데 여러분은 내가 유대인의 왕을 놓아 주기를 원하시오?”
40 그러자 그들은 큰 소리로 “그 사람이 아닙니다. 바라바를 놓아 주십시오” 하고 외쳤다. 바라바는 강도였다.

18 When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.
2 And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.
3 Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
4 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
5 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
7 Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
8 Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:
9 That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.
10 Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
11 Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
12 Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,
13 And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.
14 Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
15 And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest.
16 But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
17 Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.
18 And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
19 The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
20 Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.
21 Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.
22 And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?
23 Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?
24 Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
25 And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.
26 One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
27 Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.
28 Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.
29 Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?
30 They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.
31 Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
32 That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die.
33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
34 Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?
35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
39 But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
40 Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.

18 When Jesus had spoken these words, (B)He went out with His disciples over (C)the Brook Kidron, where there was a garden, which He and His disciples entered. 2 And Judas, who betrayed Him, also knew the place; (D)for Jesus often met there with His disciples. 3 (E)Then Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons. 4 Jesus therefore, (F)knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, “Whom are you seeking?”
5 They answered Him, (G)“Jesus [a]of Nazareth.”
Jesus said to them, “I am He.” And Judas, who (H)betrayed Him, also stood with them. 6 Now when He said to them, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground.
7 Then He asked them again, “Whom are you seeking?”
And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”
8 Jesus answered, “I have told you that I am He. Therefore, if you seek Me, let these go their way,” 9 that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, (I)“Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.”

Before the High Priest
12 Then the detachment of troops and the captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him. 13 And (L)they led Him away to (M)Annas first, for he was the father-in-law of (N)Caiaphas who was high priest that year. 14 (O)Now it was Caiaphas who advised the Jews that it was [b]expedient that one man should die for the people.
Peter Denies Jesus(P)
15 (Q)And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did (R)another[c] disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and went with Jesus into the courtyard of the high priest. 16 (S)But Peter stood at the door outside. Then the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought Peter in. 17 Then the servant girl who kept the door said to Peter, “You are not also one of this Man’s disciples, are you?”
He said, “I am (T)not.”
18 Now the servants and officers who had made a fire of coals stood there, for it was cold, and they warmed themselves. And Peter stood with them and warmed himself.
Jesus Questioned by the High Priest
19 The high priest then asked Jesus about His disciples and His doctrine.
20 Jesus answered him, (U)“I spoke openly to the world. I always taught (V)in synagogues and (W)in the temple, where [d]the Jews always meet, and in secret I have said nothing. 21 Why do you ask Me? Ask (X)those who have heard Me what I said to them. Indeed they know what I said.”
22 And when He had said these things, one of the officers who stood by (Y)struck[e] Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, “Do You answer the high priest like that?”
23 Jesus answered him, “If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?”
24 (Z)Then Annas sent Him bound to (AA)Caiaphas the high priest.
Peter Denies Twice More
25 Now Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. (AB)Therefore they said to him, “You are not also one of His disciples, are you?”
He denied it and said, “I am not!”
26 One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, “Did I not see you in the garden with Him?” 27 Peter then denied again; and (AC)immediately a rooster crowed.
In Pilate’s Court(AD)
28 (AE)Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium, and it was early morning. (AF)But they themselves did not go into the [f]Praetorium, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover. 29 (AG)Pilate then went out to them and said, “What accusation do you bring against this Man?”
30 They answered and said to him, “If He were not [g]an evildoer, we would not have delivered Him up to you.”
31 Then Pilate said to them, “You take Him and judge Him according to your law.”
Therefore the Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,” 32 (AH)that the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled which He spoke, (AI)signifying by what death He would die.
33 (AJ)Then Pilate entered the [h]Praetorium again, called Jesus, and said to Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”
34 Jesus answered him, “Are you speaking for yourself about this, or did others tell you this concerning Me?”
35 Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?”
36 (AK)Jesus answered, (AL)“My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”
37 Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?”
Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, (AM)that I should bear (AN)witness to the truth. Everyone who (AO)is of the truth (AP)hears My voice.”
38 Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, (AQ)“I find no fault in Him at all.
Taking the Place of Barabbas(AR)
39 (AS)“But you have a custom that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Do you therefore want me to release to you the King of the Jews?”
