⁷耶稣回答说：“我这样做，你现在虽然不明白，将来一定会明白。”

⁸彼得说：“你绝对不可以洗我的脚。”

耶稣说：“如果我不洗你的脚，你就和我没有关系了。”

⁹西门·彼得说：“主啊，不只我的脚，连我的手和头也帮我洗吧。”

⁷Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

⁸Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.

⁹Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.

⁷Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”^(A)

⁸“No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”

Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”

⁹“Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”

⁷Jesus answered and said to him, “What I am doing you ^(A)do not understand now, ^(B)but you will know after this.”

⁸Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!”

Jesus answered him, ^(C)“If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.”

⁹Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”
