17 既然你們明白這個道理，如果去實踐，就有福了。 18 我這話不是對你們每一個人說的，我知道我揀選了誰，但這是為了要應驗聖經上的話，『吃我飯的人用腳踢我』[a]。 19 我在事情還沒有發生之前，預先告訴你們，等事情發生以後，你們就會相信我是基督。

17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.(A)
Jesus Predicts His Betrayal
18 “I am not referring to all of you;(B) I know those I have chosen.(C) But this is to fulfill this passage of Scripture:(D) ‘He who shared my bread(E) has turned[a](F) against me.’[b](G)
19 “I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe(H) that I am who I am.(I)

17 If you know these things, blessed and happy and [a]to be envied are you if you practice them [if you act accordingly and really do them].
18 I am not speaking of and I do not mean all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but it is that the Scripture may be fulfilled, He who eats [b]My bread with Me has raised up his heel against Me.(A)
19 I tell you this now before it occurs, so that when it does take place you may be persuaded and believe that I am He [Who I say I am—the Christ, the Anointed One, the Messiah].
