The Anointing at Bethany(A)
12 Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, (B)where Lazarus was [a]who had been dead, whom He had raised from the dead. 2 (C)There they made Him a supper; and Martha served, but Lazarus was one of those who sat at the table with Him. 3 Then (D)Mary took a pound of very costly oil of (E)spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.
4 But one of His disciples, (F)Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who would betray Him, said, 5 “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for [b]three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” 6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and (G)had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.
7 But Jesus said, “Let her alone; [c]she has kept this for the day of My burial. 8 For (H)the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always.”
The Plot to Kill Lazarus
9 Now a great many of the Jews knew that He was there; and they came, not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, (I)whom He had raised from the dead. 10 (J)But the chief priests plotted to put Lazarus to death also, 11 (K)because on account of him many of the Jews went away and believed in Jesus.
The Triumphal Entry(L)
12 (M)The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out:
“Hosanna!
(N)‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’
The King of Israel!”
14 (O)Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written:
15 “Fear(P) not, daughter of Zion;
Behold, your King is coming,
Sitting on a donkey’s colt.”
16 (Q)His disciples did not understand these things at first; (R)but when Jesus was glorified, (S)then they remembered that these things were written about Him and that they had done these things to Him.
17 Therefore the people, who were with Him when He called Lazarus out of his tomb and raised him from the dead, bore witness. 18 (T)For this reason the people also met Him, because they heard that He had done this sign. 19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, (U)“You see that you are accomplishing nothing. Look, the world has gone after Him!”
The Fruitful Grain of Wheat
20 Now there (V)were certain Greeks among those (W)who came up to worship at the feast. 21 Then they came to Philip, (X)who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.”
22 Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn Andrew and Philip told Jesus.
23 But Jesus answered them, saying, (Y)“The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. 24 Most assuredly, I say to you, (Z)unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much [d]grain. 25 (AA)He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 If anyone serves Me, let him (AB)follow Me; and (AC)where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.
Jesus Predicts His Death on the Cross
27 (AD)“Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? (AE)But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify Your name.”
(AF)Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”
29 Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.”
30 Jesus answered and said, (AG)“This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake. 31 Now is the judgment of this world; now (AH)the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32 And I, (AI)if I am [e]lifted up from the earth, will draw (AJ)all peoples to Myself.” 33 (AK)This He said, signifying by what death He would die.
34 The people answered Him, (AL)“We have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever; and how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”
35 Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer (AM)the light is with you. (AN)Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; (AO)he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. 36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become (AP)sons of light.” These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and (AQ)was hidden from them.
Who Has Believed Our Report?
37 But although He had done so many (AR)signs before them, they did not believe in Him, 38 that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke:
(AS)“Lord, who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
39 Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again:
40 “He(AT) has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts,
(AU)Lest they should see with their eyes,
Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
So that I should heal them.”
41 (AV)These things Isaiah said [f]when he saw His glory and spoke of Him.
Walk in the Light
42 Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but (AW)because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; 43 (AX)for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
44 Then Jesus cried out and said, (AY)“He who believes in Me, (AZ)believes not in Me (BA)but in Him who sent Me. 45 And (BB)he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. 46 (BC)I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. 47 And if anyone hears My words and does not [g]believe, (BD)I do not judge him; for (BE)I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 (BF)He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—(BG)the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. 49 For (BH)I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, (BI)what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I (BJ)speak.”

12 ¶ Jesús, pues, seis días antes de la Pascua, vino a Betania, donde Lázaro había sido muerto, al cual Jesús había resucitado de los muertos.
2 Y le hicieron allí una cena y Marta servía, y Lázaro era uno de los que estaban sentados a la mesa juntamente con él.
3 Entonces María tomó una libra de ungüento de nardo líquido, de mucho precio, y ungió los pies de Jesús, y limpió sus pies con sus cabellos; y la casa se llenó del olor del ungüento.
4 Y dijo uno de sus discípulos, Judas Iscariote, hijo de Simón, el que le había de entregar:
5 ¿Por qué no se ha vendido este ungüento por trescientos denarios, y se dio a los pobres?
6 Mas dijo esto, no por el cuidado que él tenía de los pobres, sino porque era ladrón, y tenía la bolsa, y sustraía de lo que se echaba en ella.
7 Entonces Jesús dijo: Déjala; para el día de mi sepultura ha guardado esto;
8 porque a los pobres siempre los tenéis con vosotros, mas a mí no siempre me tendréis.
9 Entonces muchos del pueblo de los judíos supieron que él estaba allí; y vinieron no solamente por causa de Jesús, sino también por ver a Lázaro, al cual había resucitado de los muertos.
10 Consultaron asimismo los príncipes de los sacerdotes, sobre matar también a Lázaro;
11 porque muchos de los judíos iban y creían en Jesús por causa de él.
12 ¶ El siguiente día, la multitud que había venido al día de la Fiesta, cuando oyeron que Jesús venía a Jerusalén,
13 tomaron ramos de palmas, y salieron a recibirle, y clamaban: ¡Hosanna, Bendito el que viene en el Nombre del Señor, el Rey de Israel!
14 Y halló Jesús un asnillo, y se sentó sobre él, como está escrito:
15 No temas, oh hija de Sión: he aquí tu Rey viene, sentado sobre un pollino de asna.
16 Mas estas cosas no las entendieron sus discípulos primero; pero cuando Jesús fue glorificado, entonces se acordaron de que estas cosas estaban escritas de él, y que le hicieron estas cosas.
17 Y la multitud que estaba con él, daba testimonio de cuando llamó a Lázaro del sepulcro, y le resucitó de los muertos.
18 Por lo cual también había venido la multitud a recibirle, porque habían oído que él había hecho esta señal;
19 mas los fariseos dijeron entre sí: ¿Veis que nada aprovecháis? He aquí, que todo el mundo se va tras de él.
20 ¶ Y había unos griegos de los que habían subido a adorar en la Fiesta.
21 Estos pues, se llegaron a Felipe, que era de Betsaida de Galilea, y le rogaron, diciendo: Señor, querríamos ver a Jesús.
22 Vino Felipe, y lo dijo a Andrés; entonces Andrés y Felipe, lo dicen a Jesús.
23 Entonces Jesús les respondió, diciendo: La hora viene en que el Hijo del hombre ha de ser clarificado.
24 De cierto, de cierto os digo, que si el grano que cae en la tierra, no muriere, él solo queda; mas si muriere, mucho fruto lleva.
25 El que ama su vida, la perderá; y el que aborrece su vida en este mundo, para vida eterna la guardará.
26 El que me sirve, sígame; y donde yo estuviere, allí también estará mi servidor. Al que me sirviere, mi Padre le honrará.
27 ¶ Ahora está turbada mi alma; ¿y qué diré? Padre, sálvame de esta hora; mas por esto he venido en esta hora.
28 Padre, clarifica tu Nombre. Entonces vino una voz del cielo: Y lo he clarificado, y lo clarificaré otra vez.
29 Y el pueblo que estaba presente, y la había oído, decía que había sido trueno. Otros decían: un ángel le ha hablado.
30 Respondió Jesús, y dijo: No ha venido esta voz por mi causa, sino por causa de vosotros.
31 Ahora es el juicio de este mundo; ahora el príncipe de este mundo será echado fuera.
32 Y yo, si fuere levantado de la tierra, a todos traeré a mí mismo.
33 Y esto decía señalando de qué muerte había de morir.
34 Le respondió el pueblo: Nosotros hemos oído de la ley, que el Cristo permanece para siempre, ¿cómo pues dices tú: Conviene que el Hijo del hombre sea levantado? ¿Quién es este Hijo del hombre?
35 Entonces Jesús les dice: Aún por un poco estará la Luz entre vosotros; andad entre tanto que tenéis luz, para que no os tomen las tinieblas; porque el que anda en tinieblas, no sabe dónde va.
36 Entre tanto que tenéis la Luz, creed en la Luz, para que seáis hijos de la Luz. Estas cosas habló Jesús, y se fue, y se escondió de ellos.
37 ¶ Pero aun habiendo hecho delante de ellos tantas señales, no creían en él.
38 Para que se cumpliera la palabra que dijo el profeta Isaías: ¿Señor, quién creerá a nuestro dicho? ¿Y el brazo del Señor, a quién es revelado?
39 Por esto no podían creer, porque otra vez dijo Isaías:
40 Cegó los ojos de ellos, y endureció su corazón; Para que no vean con los ojos, y entiendan de corazón, y se conviertan, y yo los sane.
41 Estas cosas dijo Isaías cuando vio su gloria, y habló de él.
42 ¶ Con todo eso, aun de los príncipes, muchos creyeron en él; mas por causa de los fariseos no lo confesaban, para no ser echados de la sinagoga.
43 Porque amaban más la gloria de los hombres que la gloria de Dios.
44 ¶ Mas Jesús clamó y dijo: El que cree en mí, no cree en mí, sino en el que me envió;
45 y el que me ve, ve al que me envió.
46 Yo, la Luz, he venido al mundo, para que todo aquel que cree en mí no permanezca en tinieblas.
47 Y el que oyere mis palabras, y no creyere, yo no le juzgo; porque no he venido a juzgar al mundo, sino a salvar al mundo.
48 El que me desecha, y no recibe mis palabras, tiene quien le juzgue; la palabra que he hablado, ella le juzgará en el día postrero.
49 Porque yo no he hablado de mí mismo; mas el Padre que me envió, él me dio mandamiento de lo que he de decir, y de lo que he de hablar.
50 Y sé que su mandamiento es vida eterna; así que, lo que yo hablo, como el Padre me lo ha dicho, así hablo.
