耶稣是好牧人
10 “我实实在在告诉你们，那不从门进羊圈，倒从别处爬进去的，那人就是贼，就是强盗； 2 那从门进去的，才是羊的牧人。 3 看门的给他开门，羊也听他的声音；他按着名字呼叫自己的羊，领牠们出来。 4 他把自己的羊领出来以后，就走在前头，羊也跟随他，因为认得他的声音。 5 牠们决不会跟随陌生人，反而逃避他，因为不认得陌生人的声音。” 6 耶稣对他们说了这个譬喻，他们却不明白他所说的是甚么。
7 于是耶稣又说：“我实实在在告诉你们，我就是羊的门。 8 所有在我以先来的，都是贼和强盗；羊却不听从他们。 9 我就是门，如果有人借着我进来，就必定得救，并且可以出、可以入，也可以找到草场。 10 贼来了，不过是要偷窃、杀害、毁坏；我来了，是要使羊得生命，并且得的更丰盛。 11 我是好牧人，好牧人为羊舍命。 12 那作雇工不是牧人的，羊也不是自己的，他一见狼来，就把羊撇下逃跑，狼就抓住羊群，把他们驱散了； 13 因为他是个雇工，对羊群漠不关心。 14 我是好牧人，我认识我的羊，我的羊也认识我， 15 好象父认识我，我也认识父一样；并且我为羊舍命。 16 我还有别的羊，不在这羊圈里；我必须把牠们领来，牠们也要听我的声音，并且要合成一群，归于一个牧人。 17 父爱我，因为我把生命舍去，好再把它取回来。 18 没有人能夺去我的生命，是我自己舍去的。我有权把生命舍去，也有权把它取回来；这是我从我的父所领受的命令。”
19 犹太人因着这些话又起了纷争。 20 他们当中有许多人说：“他是鬼附的，他发疯了；为甚么要听他呢？” 21 另外有人说：“这话不是鬼附的人所说的。鬼怎能使瞎子的眼睛开了呢？”
犹太人弃绝耶稣
22 在耶路撒冷，献殿节到了，那时是冬天。 23 耶稣在殿的所罗门廊上走过， 24 犹太人围着他，对他说：“你使我们心里悬疑不定，要到几时呢？如果你是基督，就公开地告诉我们吧！” 25 耶稣对他们说：“我已经告诉你们，你们却不相信；我奉我父的名所作的事，可以为我作证。 26 只是你们不信，因为你们不是我的羊。 27 我的羊听我的声音，我也认识他们，他们也跟随我。 28 我赐给他们永生，他们永不灭亡，谁也不能把他们从我手里夺去。 29 那位把羊群赐给我的父比一切都大，也没有人能把他们从我父的手里夺去。 30 我与父原为一。”
31 犹太人又拿起石头要打他。 32 耶稣对他们说：“我把许多从父那里来的善事显给你们看，你们因哪一件要用石头打我呢？” 33 犹太人对他说：“我们不是因为善事用石头打你，而是因为你说了僭妄的话；又因为你是个人，竟然把自己当作 神。” 34 耶稣说：“你们的律法上不是写着‘我说你们是神’吗？ 35 圣经是不能废除的，如果那些承受 神的道的人， 神尚且称他们是神， 36 那么父所分别为圣又差到世上来的，他自称是 神的儿子，你们就说他说了僭妄 神的话吗？ 37 我若不作我父的事，你们就不必信我； 38 我若作了，你们纵然不信我，也应当信这些事，好使你们确实知道，我父是在我里面，我也在父里面。” 39 他们又要逮捕耶稣，他却从他们的手中逃脱了。
40 耶稣又往约旦河东去，到约翰从前施洗的地方，住在那里。 41 许多人到他那里去，说：“约翰没有行过一件神迹，但约翰指着这人所说的一切话，都是真实的。” 42 在那里就有许多人信了耶稣。

The Faithful Hear the Shepherd’s Voice
10 “Amen, amen I tell you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters through the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice. The shepherd calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4 “When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them; and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5 They will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” 6 Yeshua told them this parable, but they did not understand what He was telling them.
7 So Yeshua said again, “Amen, amen I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All those who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the gate![a] If anyone comes in through Me, he will be saved. He will come and go and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal, slaughter, and destroy. I have come that they might have life, and have it abundantly!
11 “I am the Good Shepherd.[b] The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. 12 The hired worker is not the shepherd, and the sheep are not his own. He sees the wolf coming and abandons the sheep and flees. Then the wolf snatches and scatters the sheep. 13 The man is only a hired hand and does not care about the sheep.
14 “I am the Good Shepherd. I know My own and My own know Me, 15 just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not from this fold; those also I must lead, and they will listen to My voice. So there shall be one flock, one Shepherd.
17 “For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life, so that I may take it up again. 18 No one takes it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own. I have the authority to lay it down, and I have the authority to take it up again. This command I received from My Father.”
19 Again a division arose among the Judeans because of these words. 20 Many of them were saying, “He has a demon. He’s insane! Why listen to Him?” 21 Others said, “These are not the sayings of someone who is plagued by a demon. A demon cannot open the eyes of the blind, can it?”
Some Despise the Light and Harden
22 Then came Hanukkah;[c] it was winter in Jerusalem. 23 Yeshua was walking in the Temple around Solomon’s Colonnade. 24 Then the Judean leaders surrounded Him, saying, “How long will You hold us in suspense? If You are the Messiah, tell us outright!”
25 Yeshua answered them, “I told you, but you don’t believe! The works I do in My Father’s name testify concerning Me. 26 But you don’t believe, because you are not My sheep. 27 My sheep hear My voice. I know them, and they follow Me. 28 I give them eternal life! They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. And no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
31 Again the Judean leaders picked up stones to stone Him. 32 Yeshua answered them, “I’ve shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these are you going to stone Me?”
33 The Judean leaders answered, “We aren’t stoning you for a good work, but for blasphemy. Though You are a man, You make Yourself God!”
34 Yeshua answered them, “Isn’t it written in your Writings,[d] ‘I have said you are gods’? 35 If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the Word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), 36 do you say of Him, the One the Father set apart and sent into the world, ‘You speak blasphemy,’ because I said, ‘I am Ben-Elohim’?
37 “If I don’t do the works of My Father, don’t believe Me! 38 But if I do, even if you don’t trust Me, trust the deeds. Then you may come to know and continue to understand that the Father is in Me, and I am in the Father.” 39 Therefore they tried to capture Him again, but He escaped from their hand.
40 Again He went back across the Jordan to the place where John first started immersing, and He stayed there. 41 Many people came to Him and were saying, “John performed no sign, but all John said about this man was true.” 42 And many trusted in Him there.

10 «In verità, in verità io vi dico: Chi non entra per la porta nell'ovile delle pecore, ma vi sale da un'altra parte, quello è un ladro e un brigante;
2 ma chi entra per la porta è il pastore delle pecore.
3 A lui apre il portinaio; le pecore ascoltano la sua voce, ed egli chiama le sue pecore per nome e le conduce fuori.
4 E, quando ha fatto uscire le sue pecore, va davanti a loro; e le pecore lo seguono, perché conoscono la sua voce.
5 Non seguiranno però alcun estraneo ma fuggiranno lontano da lui, perché non conoscono la voce degli estranei».
6 Gesú disse loro questa similitudine ma essi non capirono di che cosa stesse loro parlando.
7 Perciò Gesú disse loro di nuovo: «In verità, in verità vi dico: io sono la porta delle pecore.
8 Tutti quelli che sono venuti prima di me sono stati ladri e briganti, ma le pecore non li hanno ascoltati.
9 Io sono la porta; se uno entra per mezzo di me sarà salvato; entrerà, uscirà e troverà pascolo.
10 Il ladro non viene se non per rubare, uccidere e distruggere; ma io sono venuto affinché abbiano la vita e l'abbiano in abbondanza.
11 Io sono il buon pastore; il buon pastore depone la sua vita per le pecore.
12 Ma il mercenario, che non è pastore e a cui non appartengono le pecore, vede venire il lupo, abbandona le pecore e fugge; e il lupo rapisce e disperde le pecore.
13 Or il mercenario fugge, perché è mercenario e non si cura delle pecore.
14 Io sono il buon pastore, e conosco le mie pecore e le mie conoscono me,
15 come il Padre conosce me e io conosco il Padre, e depongo la mia vita per le pecore.
16 Io ho anche delle altre pecore che non sono di quest'ovile; anche quelle io devo raccogliere, ed esse ascolteranno la mia voce, e vi sarà un solo gregge e un solo pastore.
17 Per questo mi ama il Padre, perché io depongo la mia vita per prenderla di nuovo.
18 Nessuno me la toglie, ma la depongo da me stesso; io ho il potere di deporla e il potere di prenderla di nuovo; questo è il comando che ho ricevuto dal Padre mio».
19 Allora sorse di nuovo una divisione tra i Giudei per queste parole.
20 E molti di loro dicevano: «Egli ha un demone ed è fuori di sé; perché lo ascoltate?».
21 Altri dicevano: «Queste non sono parole di un indemoniato; può un demone aprire gli occhi ai ciechi?».
22 Si celebrava allora a Gerusalemme la festa della Dedicazione, ed era inverno.
23 E Gesú passeggiava nel tempio, sotto il portico di Salomone.
24 Lo circondarono dunque i Giudei e gli dissero: «Fino a quando ci terrai con l'animo sospeso? Se tu sei il Cristo, diccelo apertamente».
25 Gesú rispose loro: «Io ve l'ho detto, ma voi non credete; le opere che faccio nel nome del Padre mio, sono quelle che testimoniano di me.
26 Ma voi non credete, perché non siete delle mie pecore, come vi ho detto.
27 Le mie pecore ascoltano la mia voce, io le conosco ed esse mi seguono;
28 e io do loro la vita eterna e non periranno mai, e nessuno le rapirà dalla mia mano.
29 Il Padre mio, che me le ha date, è piú grande di tutti; e nessuno le può rapire dalla mano del Padre mio.
30 Io e il Padre siamo uno».
31 Perciò i Giudei raccolsero di nuovo delle pietre a per lapidarlo.
32 Gesú rispose loro: «Io vi ho fatto vedere molte buone opere da parte del Padre mio; per quali di esse mi lapidate?».
33 I Giudei gli risposero, dicendo: «Noi non ti lapidiamo per nessuna opera buona, ma per bestemmia, e perché tu che sei uomo ti fai Dio».
34 Gesú rispose loro: «Non è scritto nella vostra legge: "Io ho detto: Voi siete dèi"?
35 Ora, se essa chiama dèi coloro a cui fu rivolta la parola di Dio (e la Scrittura non può essere annullata),
36 voi dite che colui, che il Padre ha santificato e ha mandato nel mondo, bestemmia, perché ha detto: "Io sono il Figlio di Dio"?
37 Se non faccio le opere del Padre mio, non credetemi,
38 ma se le faccio, anche se non credete a me, credete almeno alle opere, affinché conosciate e crediate che il Padre è in me e io in lui».
39 Perciò essi cercavano nuovamente di prenderlo, ma egli sfuggí dalle loro mani.
40 E se ne andò di nuovo al di là del Giordano, nel luogo dove prima Giovanni battezzava; e si fermò qui.
41 Or molti vennero da lui e dicevano: «Giovanni certamente non fece alcun segno, ma tutto quello che Giovanni disse di costui era vero».
42 E molti in quel luogo credettero in lui.

The Good Shepherd and His Sheep
10 “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.(A) 2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.(B) 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice.(C) He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.(D) 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.(E) 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” 6 Jesus used this figure of speech,(F) but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.(G)
7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am(H) the gate(I) for the sheep. 8 All who have come before me(J) are thieves and robbers,(K) but the sheep have not listened to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.[a] They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life,(L) and have it to the full.(M)
11 “I am(N) the good shepherd.(O) The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.(P) 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away.(Q) Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
14 “I am the good shepherd;(R) I know my sheep(S) and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father(T)—and I lay down my life for the sheep.(U) 16 I have other sheep(V) that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock(W) and one shepherd.(X) 17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life(Y)—only to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord.(Z) I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”(AA)
19 The Jews who heard these words were again divided.(AB) 20 Many of them said, “He is demon-possessed(AC) and raving mad.(AD) Why listen to him?”
21 But others said, “These are not the sayings of a man possessed by a demon.(AE) Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”(AF)
Further Conflict Over Jesus’ Claims
22 Then came the Festival of Dedication[b] at Jerusalem. It was winter, 23 and Jesus was in the temple courts walking in Solomon’s Colonnade.(AG) 24 The Jews(AH) who were there gathered around him, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”(AI)
25 Jesus answered, “I did tell you,(AJ) but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me,(AK) 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep.(AL) 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them,(AM) and they follow me.(AN) 28 I give them eternal life,(AO) and they shall never perish;(AP) no one will snatch them out of my hand.(AQ) 29 My Father, who has given them to me,(AR) is greater than all[c];(AS) no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”(AT)
31 Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him,(AU) 32 but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”
33 “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”(AV)
34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law,(AW) ‘I have said you are “gods”’[d]?(AX) 35 If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God(AY) came—and Scripture cannot be set aside(AZ)— 36 what about the one whom the Father set apart(BA) as his very own(BB) and sent into the world?(BC) Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’?(BD) 37 Do not believe me unless I do the works of my Father.(BE) 38 But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”(BF) 39 Again they tried to seize him,(BG) but he escaped their grasp.(BH)
40 Then Jesus went back across the Jordan(BI) to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. There he stayed, 41 and many people came to him. They said, “Though John never performed a sign,(BJ) all that John said about this man was true.”(BK) 42 And in that place many believed in Jesus.(BL)
