道成肉身

1 太初有道，道與　神同在，道就是　神。 2 這道太初與　神同在。 3 萬有是藉著他造的；凡被造的，沒有一樣不是藉著他造的。 4 在他裡面有生命，（有些抄本第3、4節或譯：“萬有是藉著他造的，沒有一樣不是藉著他造的；凡被造的，都在他裡面有生命……”）這生命就是人的光。 5 光照在黑暗中，黑暗不能勝過光。

6 有一個人，名叫約翰，是　神所差來的。 7 他來是要作見證，就是為光作見證，使眾人藉著他可以相信。 8 他不是那光，而是要為那光作見證。 9 那光來到世界，是普照世人的真光。 10 他在世界，世界也是藉著他造的，世界卻不認識他。 11 他到自己的地方來，自己的人卻不接受他。 12 凡接受他的，就是信他名的人，他就賜給他們權利，成為　神的兒女。 13 他們不是從血統生的，不是從肉身的意思生的，也不是從人意生的，而是從　神生的。

14 道成了肉身，住在我們中間，滿有恩典和真理。我們見過他的榮光，正是從父而來的獨生子的榮光。

15 約翰為他作見證，大聲說：“這一位就是我所說的：‘那在我以後來的，位分比我高，因為他本來是在我以前的。’” 16 從他的豐盛裡我們都領受了，而且恩上加恩。 17 律法是藉著摩西頒布的，恩典和真理卻是藉著耶穌基督而來的。 18 從來沒有人見過　神，只有在父懷裡的獨生子把他彰顯出來。

施洗約翰的見證(A)

19 以下是約翰的見證：猶太人從耶路撒冷派祭司和利未人到約翰那裡，問他：“你是誰？” 20 約翰並不否認，坦白地承認說：“我不是基督。” 21 他們又問：“那麼你是誰？是以利亞嗎？”他說：“我不是。”“是那位先知嗎？”他回答：“不是。” 22 於是他們再問：“你是誰？好讓我們回覆派我們來的人。你說你自己是誰？” 23 他說：“我就是在曠野呼喊者的聲音：‘修直主的路！’正如以賽亞先知所說的。” 24 這些人是法利賽人派來的。 25 他們問約翰：“你既然不是基督，不是以利亞，也不是那位先知，那麼你為甚麼施洗呢？” 26 約翰回答：“我是用水施洗，但有一位站在你們中間，是你們不認識的； 27 他是在我以後來的，我就是給他解鞋帶也不配。” 28 這些事發生在約旦河東的伯大尼，約翰施洗的地方。

　神的羊羔

29 第二天，約翰見耶穌迎面而來，就說：“看哪，　神的羊羔，是除去世人的罪孽的！ 30 這一位就是我所說的：‘有一個人，是在我以後來的，位分比我高，因為他本來是在我以前的。’ 31 我本來不認識他，但為了要把他顯明給以色列人，因此我來用水施洗。” 32 約翰又作見證說：“我曾看見聖靈，好像鴿子從天上降下來，停留在他的身上。 33 我本來不認識他，但那差我來用水施洗的對我說：‘你看見聖靈降下來，停留在誰身上，誰就是用聖靈施洗的。’ 34 我看見了，就作見證說：‘這就是　神的兒子。’”

呼召第一批門徒(B)

35 過了一天，約翰和他的兩個門徒又站在那裡。 36 約翰看見耶穌走過的時候，就說：“看哪，　神的羊羔！” 37 那兩個門徒聽見他的話，就跟從了耶穌。 38 耶穌轉過身來，看見他們跟著，就問：“你們要甚麼？”他們說：“拉比，你在哪裡住？”（“拉比”的意思就是“老師”。） 39 他說：“你們來看吧！”於是他們就去看他所住的地方。那一天他們就和耶穌住在一起；那時大約是下午四點鐘。 40 聽了約翰的話而跟從耶穌的那兩個人，一個是西門．彼得的弟弟安得烈。 41 他先找到自己的哥哥西門，告訴他：“我們遇見彌賽亞了！”（“彌賽亞”的意思就是“基督”。） 42 安得烈就帶他到耶穌那裡。耶穌定睛看著他，說：“你是約翰的兒子西門，你要稱為磯法。”（“磯法”翻譯出來就是“彼得”。）

呼召腓力和拿但業

43 再過一天，耶穌決定往加利利去；他遇見腓力，就對他說：“來跟從我！” 44 腓力是伯賽大人，與安得烈和彼得同鄉。 45 腓力找到拿但業，告訴他：“摩西在律法書上所寫的，和眾先知所記的那位，我們已經遇見了，他就是約瑟的兒子拿撒勒人耶穌。” 46 拿但業說：“拿撒勒還能出甚麼好的嗎？”腓力說：“你來看！” 47 耶穌看見拿但業向他走過來，就論到他說：“看哪，這的確是個以色列人，他心裡沒有詭詐。” 48 拿但業問他：“你怎麼認識我呢？”耶穌回答：“腓力還沒有招呼你，你在無花果樹下的時候，我就看見你了。” 49 拿但業說：“拉比，你是　神的兒子，你是以色列的王！” 50 耶穌說：“因為我告訴你‘我看見你在無花果樹下’，你就信了嗎？你還要看見比這些更大的事。” 51 又對他說：“我實實在在告訴你們，你們要看見天開了，　神的眾使者在人子的身上，上去下來。”

Prólogo

1 En el principio(A) ya existía[a] el Verbo[b](B), y el Verbo estaba con Dios(C), y el Verbo era Dios(D). 2 Él[c] estaba en el principio con Dios. 3 Todas las cosas fueron hechas por medio de Él(E), y sin Él nada de lo que ha sido hecho, fue hecho. 4 En Él estaba la vida(F), y la vida era la Luz de los hombres(G). 5 La Luz brilla en las tinieblas(H), y las tinieblas no la comprendieron.

6 Vino al mundo un[d] hombre enviado por Dios, cuyo nombre era Juan(I). 7 Este vino como testigo(J) para testificar de la Luz, a fin de que todos creyeran por medio de él(K). 8 No era él[e] la Luz(L), sino que vino para dar testimonio de la Luz.

9 Existía[f] la Luz verdadera(M) que, al venir al mundo, alumbra a todo hombre[g].

10 Él estaba en el mundo, y el mundo fue hecho por medio de Él(N), y el mundo no lo conoció. 11 A lo Suyo vino, y los Suyos no lo recibieron. 12 Pero a todos los que lo recibieron, les dio el derecho de llegar a ser hijos de Dios(O), es decir, a los que creen en Su nombre(P), 13 que no nacieron[h] de sangre[i], ni de la voluntad de la carne, ni de la voluntad del hombre, sino de Dios(Q).

El Verbo se hace carne

14 El Verbo(R) se hizo carne(S), y habitó entre nosotros(T), y vimos Su gloria(U), gloria como del unigénito del Padre, lleno de gracia(V) y de verdad(W). 15 Juan dio* testimonio de Él(X) y clamó: «Este era del que yo decía: “El que viene después de mí(Y), es antes de mí[j], porque era primero que yo(Z)”». 16 Pues de Su plenitud(AA) todos hemos recibido, y gracia sobre gracia. 17 Porque la ley fue dada por medio de Moisés(AB); la gracia(AC) y la verdad(AD) fueron hechas realidad por medio de Jesucristo[k]. 18 Nadie ha visto jamás a Dios(AE); el unigénito Dios[l](AF), que está en el seno del Padre(AG), Él lo ha dado a conocer(AH).

Testimonio de Juan el Bautista

19 Este es el testimonio(AI) de Juan, cuando los judíos(AJ) enviaron sacerdotes y levitas de Jerusalén(AK) a preguntarle: «¿Quién eres tú?». 20 Y él confesó y no negó, pero confesó: «Yo no soy el Cristo[m](AL)». 21 «¿Entonces, qué?», le preguntaron, «¿Eres Elías(AM)?». Y él dijo*: «No lo soy». «¿Eres el Profeta(AN)?». «No», respondió Juan. 22 Entonces le preguntaron: «¿Quién eres? Ya que tenemos que dar respuesta a los que nos enviaron. ¿Qué dices de ti mismo?». 23 Juan les respondió: «Yo soy la voz del que clama en el desierto: “Enderecen el camino del Señor(AO)”, como dijo el profeta Isaías(AP)».

24 Los que habían sido enviados eran de los fariseos, 25 y le preguntaron: «Entonces, ¿por qué bautizas, si tú no eres el Cristo[n], ni Elías, ni el Profeta(AQ)?».

26 Juan les respondió: «Yo bautizo en[o] agua(AR), pero entre ustedes está Uno a quien ustedes no conocen. 27 Él es el que viene después de mí(AS), a quien yo no soy digno de desatar la correa de la sandalia(AT)».

28 Estas cosas sucedieron en Betania[p], al otro lado del Jordán, donde Juan estaba bautizando(AU).

El Cordero de Dios

29 Al día siguiente Juan vio* a Jesús que venía hacia él, y dijo*: «Ahí está el Cordero de Dios(AV) que quita el pecado del mundo(AW). 30 Este es Aquel de quien yo dije: “Después de mí viene un Hombre(AX) que es antes de mí[q] porque era primero que yo(AY)”. 31 Yo no lo conocía[r], pero para que Él fuera manifestado a Israel, por esto yo vine bautizando en[s] agua».

32 Juan también dio testimonio(AZ), diciendo: «He visto al Espíritu que descendía del cielo como paloma(BA), y se posó sobre Él. 33 Yo no lo conocía[t], pero el que me envió a bautizar en[u] agua me dijo: “Aquel sobre quien veas al Espíritu descender y posarse sobre Él, Este es el que bautiza en[v] el Espíritu Santo(BB)”. 34 Y yo lo he visto y he dado testimonio de que Este es el Hijo de Dios(BC)».

Los primeros discípulos

35 Al día siguiente(BD) Juan estaba otra vez allí con[w] dos de sus discípulos, 36 y vio a Jesús que pasaba, y dijo*: «Ahí está el Cordero de Dios(BE)». 37 Y los dos discípulos le oyeron hablar, y siguieron a Jesús. 38 Jesús se volvió, y viendo que lo seguían, les dijo*: «¿Qué buscan?». Y ellos le dijeron: «Rabí(BF) (que traducido quiere decir Maestro), ¿dónde te hospedas?». 39 «Vengan y verán», les dijo* Jesús. Entonces fueron y vieron dónde se hospedaba; y se quedaron con Él aquel día, porque eran como las cuatro de la tarde[x].

40 (BG)Uno de los dos que oyeron a Juan y siguieron a Jesús, era Andrés, hermano de Simón Pedro. 41 Él encontró* primero a su hermano Simón, y le dijo*: «Hemos hallado al Mesías(BH)» (que traducido quiere decir, Cristo). 42 Entonces lo trajo a Jesús. Jesús mirándolo, dijo: «Tú eres Simón, hijo de Juan[y](BI); tú serás llamado Cefas(BJ)», que quiere decir Pedro[z](BK).

Felipe y Natanael

43 Al día siguiente(BL) Jesús se propuso salir para Galilea(BM), y encontró* a Felipe(BN), y le dijo*: «Sígueme(BO)». 44 Felipe(BP) era de Betsaida(BQ), de la ciudad de Andrés y de Pedro. 45 Felipe(BR) encontró* a Natanael(BS) y le dijo*: «Hemos hallado a Aquel de quien escribió Moisés en la ley, y también los profetas(BT), a Jesús de Nazaret(BU), el hijo de José(BV)». 46 Y Natanael le dijo: «¿Puede algo bueno salir de Nazaret(BW)?». «Ven, y ve», le dijo* Felipe(BX).

47 Jesús vio venir a Natanael y dijo* de él: «Ahí tienen a un verdadero israelita(BY)en quien no hay engaño». 48 Natanael le preguntó*: «¿Cómo es que me conoces?». Jesús le respondió: «Antes de que Felipe(BZ)te llamara, cuando estabas debajo de la higuera, te vi». 49 «Rabí(CA), Tú eres el Hijo de Dios(CB), Tú eres el Rey de Israel(CC)», respondió Natanael.

50 Jesús le contestó: «¿Porque te dije que te vi debajo de la higuera, crees? Cosas mayores que estas verás». 51 También le dijo*: «En verdad les digo que verán el cielo abierto(CD)y a los ángeles de Dios subiendo y bajando(CE)sobre el Hijo del Hombre(CF)».

El Verbo hecho carne

1 En el principio era el Verbo, y el Verbo era con Dios, y el Verbo era Dios. 2 Este era en el principio con Dios. 3 Todas las cosas por él fueron hechas, y sin él nada de lo que ha sido hecho, fue hecho. 4 En él estaba la vida, y la vida era la luz de los hombres. 5 La luz en las tinieblas resplandece, y las tinieblas no prevalecieron contra ella.

6 Hubo un hombre enviado de Dios, el cual se llamaba Juan.(A) 7 Este vino por testimonio, para que diese testimonio de la luz, a fin de que todos creyesen por él. 8 No era él la luz, sino para que diese testimonio de la luz.

9 Aquella luz verdadera, que alumbra a todo hombre, venía a este mundo. 10 En el mundo estaba, y el mundo por él fue hecho; pero el mundo no le conoció. 11 A lo suyo vino, y los suyos no le recibieron. 12 Mas a todos los que le recibieron, a los que creen en su nombre, les dio potestad de ser hechos hijos de Dios; 13 los cuales no son engendrados de sangre, ni de voluntad de carne, ni de voluntad de varón, sino de Dios.

14 Y aquel Verbo fue hecho carne, y habitó entre nosotros (y vimos su gloria, gloria como del unigénito del Padre), lleno de gracia y de verdad. 15 Juan dio testimonio de él, y clamó diciendo: Este es de quien yo decía: El que viene después de mí, es antes de mí; porque era primero que yo. 16 Porque de su plenitud tomamos todos, y gracia sobre gracia. 17 Pues la ley por medio de Moisés fue dada, pero la gracia y la verdad vinieron por medio de Jesucristo. 18 A Dios nadie le vio jamás; el unigénito Hijo, que está en el seno del Padre, él le ha dado a conocer.

Testimonio de Juan el Bautista

(Mt. 3.11-12; Mr. 1.7-8; Lc. 3.15-17)

19 Este es el testimonio de Juan, cuando los judíos enviaron de Jerusalén sacerdotes y levitas para que le preguntasen: ¿Tú, quién eres? 20 Confesó, y no negó, sino confesó: Yo no soy el Cristo. 21 Y le preguntaron: ¿Qué pues? ¿Eres tú Elías?(B) Dijo: No soy. ¿Eres tú el profeta?(C) Y respondió: No. 22 Le dijeron: ¿Pues quién eres? para que demos respuesta a los que nos enviaron. ¿Qué dices de ti mismo? 23 Dijo: Yo soy la voz de uno que clama en el desierto: Enderezad el camino del Señor, como dijo el profeta Isaías.(D)

El Cordero de Dios

29 El siguiente día vio Juan a Jesús que venía a él, y dijo: He aquí el Cordero de Dios, que quita el pecado del mundo. 30 Este es aquel de quien yo dije: Después de mí viene un varón, el cual es antes de mí; porque era primero que yo. 31 Y yo no le conocía; mas para que fuese manifestado a Israel, por esto vine yo bautizando con agua. 32 También dio Juan testimonio, diciendo: Vi al Espíritu que descendía del cielo como paloma, y permaneció sobre él. 33 Y yo no le conocía; pero el que me envió a bautizar con agua, aquel me dijo: Sobre quien veas descender el Espíritu y que permanece sobre él, ese es el que bautiza con el Espíritu Santo. 34 Y yo le vi, y he dado testimonio de que este es el Hijo de Dios.

Los primeros discípulos

35 El siguiente día otra vez estaba Juan, y dos de sus discípulos. 36 Y mirando a Jesús que andaba por allí, dijo: He aquí el Cordero de Dios. 37 Le oyeron hablar los dos discípulos, y siguieron a Jesús. 38 Y volviéndose Jesús, y viendo que le seguían, les dijo: ¿Qué buscáis? Ellos le dijeron: Rabí (que traducido es, Maestro), ¿dónde moras? 39 Les dijo: Venid y ved. Fueron, y vieron donde moraba, y se quedaron con él aquel día; porque era como la hora décima. 40 Andrés, hermano de Simón Pedro, era uno de los dos que habían oído a Juan, y habían seguido a Jesús. 41 Este halló primero a su hermano Simón, y le dijo: Hemos hallado al Mesías (que traducido es, el Cristo). 42 Y le trajo a Jesús. Y mirándole Jesús, dijo: Tú eres Simón, hijo de Jonás; tú serás llamado Cefas[a] (que quiere decir, Pedro[b]).

Jesús llama a Felipe y a Natanael

43 El siguiente día quiso Jesús ir a Galilea, y halló a Felipe, y le dijo: Sígueme. 44 Y Felipe era de Betsaida, la ciudad de Andrés y Pedro. 45 Felipe halló a Natanael, y le dijo: Hemos hallado a aquel de quien escribió Moisés en la ley, así como los profetas: a Jesús, el hijo de José, de Nazaret. 46 Natanael le dijo: ¿De Nazaret puede salir algo de bueno? Le dijo Felipe: Ven y ve. 47 Cuando Jesús vio a Natanael que se le acercaba, dijo de él: He aquí un verdadero israelita, en quien no hay engaño. 48 Le dijo Natanael: ¿De dónde me conoces? New International Version

The Word Became Flesh

1 In the beginning was the Word,(A) and the Word was with God,(B) and the Word was God.(C) 2 He was with God in the beginning.(D) 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.(E) 4 In him was life,(F) and that life was the light(G) of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness,(H) and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.(I)

6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John.(J) 7 He came as a witness to testify(K) concerning that light, so that through him all might believe.(L) 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.

9 The true light(M) that gives light to everyone(N) was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him,(O) the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.(P) 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed(Q) in his name,(R) he gave the right to become children of God(S)— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.(T)

14 The Word became flesh(U) and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory,(V) the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace(W) and truth.(X)

15 (John testified(Y) concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’”)(Z) 16 Out of his fullness(AA) we have all received grace(AB) in place of grace already given. 17 For the law was given through Moses;(AC) grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.(AD) 18 No one has ever seen God,(AE) but the one and only Son, who is himself God and[b](AF) is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

John the Baptist Denies Being the Messiah

19 Now this was John’s(AG) testimony when the Jewish leaders[c](AH) in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was. 20 He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah.”(AI)

21 They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?”(AJ)

He said, “I am not.”

“Are you the Prophet?”(AK)

He answered, “No.”

22 Finally they said, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

23 John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness,(AL) ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”[d](AM)

24 Now the Pharisees who had been sent 25 questioned him, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

26 “I baptize with[e] water,”(AN) John replied, “but among you stands one you do not know. 27 He is the one who comes after me,(AO) the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”(AP)

28 This all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan,(AQ) where John was baptizing.

John Testifies About Jesus

29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God,(AR) who takes away the sin of the world!(AS) 30 This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’(AT) 31 I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel.”

32 Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him.(AU) 33 And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water(AV) told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’(AW) 34 I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.”[f](AX)

John’s Disciples Follow Jesus(AY)

35 The next day John(AZ) was there again with two of his disciples. 36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!”(BA)

37 When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. 38 Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?”

They said, “Rabbi”(BB) (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?”

39 “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.”

So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon.

40 Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. 41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ).(BC) 42 And he brought him to Jesus.

Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called(BD) Cephas” (which, when translated, is Peter[g]).(BE)

Jesus Calls Philip and Nathanael

43 The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip,(BF) he said to him, “Follow me.”(BG)

44 Philip, like Andrew and Peter, was from the town of Bethsaida.(BH) 45 Philip found Nathanael(BI) and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law,(BJ) and about whom the prophets also wrote(BK)—Jesus of Nazareth,(BL) the son of Joseph.”(BM)

46 “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?”(BN) Nathanael asked.

“Come and see,” said Philip.

47 When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, “Here truly is an Israelite(BO) in whom there is no deceit.”(BP)

48 “How do you know me?” Nathanael asked.

Jesus answered, “I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you.”

49 Then Nathanael declared, “Rabbi,(BQ) you are the Son of God;(BR) you are the king of Israel.”(BS)

50 Jesus said, “You believe[h] because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.” 51 He then added, “Very truly I tell you,[i] you[j] will see ‘heaven open,(BT) and the angels of God ascending and descending(BU) on’[k] the Son of Man.”(BV)
