Os filhos de Deus

3 Vede quão grande amor nos tem concedido o Pai: que fôssemos chamados filhos de Deus. Por isso, o mundo não nos conhece, porque não conhece a ele. 2 Amados, agora somos filhos de Deus, e ainda não é manifesto o que havemos de ser. Mas sabemos que, quando ele se manifestar, seremos semelhantes a ele; porque assim como é o veremos. 3 E qualquer que nele tem esta esperança purifica-se a si mesmo, como também ele é puro. 4 Qualquer que pratica o pecado também pratica iniquidade, porque o pecado é iniquidade. 5 E bem sabeis que ele se manifestou para tirar os nossos pecados; e nele não há pecado. 6 Qualquer que permanece nele não vive pecando; qualquer que vive pecando não o viu nem o conheceu.

7 Filhinhos, ninguém vos engane. Quem pratica justiça é justo, assim como ele é justo. 8 Quem pratica o pecado é do diabo, porque o diabo vive pecando desde o princípio. Para isto o Filho de Deus se manifestou: para desfazer as obras do diabo. 9 Qualquer que é nascido de Deus não vive na prática do pecado; porque a sua semente permanece nele; e não pode viver pecando, porque é nascido de Deus. 10 Nisto são manifestos os filhos de Deus e os filhos do diabo: qualquer que não pratica a justiça e não ama a seu irmão não é de Deus.

11 Porque esta é a mensagem que ouvistes desde o princípio: que nos amemos uns aos outros. 12 Não como Caim, que era do maligno e matou a seu irmão. E por que causa o matou? Porque as suas obras eram más, e as de seu irmão, justas.

13 Meus irmãos, não vos maravilheis, se o mundo vos aborrece. 14 Nós sabemos que passamos da morte para a vida, porque amamos os irmãos; quem não ama a seu irmão permanece na morte. 15 Qualquer que aborrece a seu irmão é homicida. E vós sabeis que nenhum homicida tem permanente nele a vida eterna. 16 Conhecemos o amor nisto: que ele deu a sua vida por nós, e nós devemos dar a vida pelos irmãos. 17 Quem, pois, tiver bens do mundo e, vendo o seu irmão necessitado, lhe cerrar o seu coração, como estará nele o amor de Deus? 18 Meus filhinhos, não amemos de palavra, nem de língua, mas por obra e em verdade.

19 E nisto conhecemos que somos da verdade e diante dele asseguraremos nosso coração; 20 sabendo que, se o nosso coração nos condena, maior é Deus do que o nosso coração e conhece todas as coisas. 21 Amados, se o nosso coração nos não condena, temos confiança para com Deus; 22 e qualquer coisa que lhe pedirmos, dele a receberemos, porque guardamos os seus mandamentos e fazemos o que é agradável à sua vista. 23 E o seu mandamento é este: que creiamos no nome de seu Filho Jesus Cristo e nos amemos uns aos outros, segundo o seu mandamento. 24 E aquele que guarda os seus mandamentos nele está, e ele nele. E nisto conhecemos que ele está em nós: pelo Espírito que nos tem dado.

3 你们看，父赐给我们的是怎样的爱，就是让我们可以称为　神的儿女，我们也真是他的儿女。因此，世人不认识我们，是因为他们不认识父。 2 亲爱的，现在我们是　神的儿女，将来怎样，还没有显明；然而我们知道：主若显现，我们必要像他，因为我们必要看见他本来是怎样的。 3 凡对他存着这盼望的，就洁净自己，像他一样的洁净。

4 凡是犯罪的，就是作了不法的事；罪就是不法。 5 你们知道主曾经显现，为要除掉罪，他自己却没有罪。 6 凡是住在他里面的，就不犯罪；凡犯罪的，是未曾见过他，也不认识他。 7 孩子们，不要受人欺骗，行义的才是义人，正如主是公义的。 8 犯罪的是出于魔鬼，因为魔鬼从起初就犯罪。因此，　神的儿子显现了，是要除灭魔鬼的作为。 9 凡是从　神生的，就不犯罪，因为　神的生命（“　神的生命”原文作“种子”）在他里面；他也不能犯罪，因为他是从　神生的。 10 这样，谁是　神的儿女，谁是魔鬼的儿女，就很明显了。凡不行义的，就不是出于　神，不爱弟兄的，也是这样。

应当彼此相爱

11 我们应当彼此相爱，因为这是你们从起初听见的信息。 12 不要像该隐，他是属于那恶者的，他又杀了自己的弟弟。为甚么杀他呢？因为他自己的行为是恶的，弟弟的行为是义的。 13 弟兄们，世人若恨你们，不要希奇。 14 我们因为爱弟兄，就知道我们已经出死入生了；不爱弟兄的，仍然住在死中。 15 凡恨弟兄的，就是杀人的。你们知道，杀人的在他里面没有永生。 16 主为我们舍命，这样，我们就知道甚么是爱；我们也应当为弟兄舍命。 17 凡有世上财物的，看见弟兄穷乏，却硬着心肠不理，他怎能说他心里有　神的爱呢？ 18 孩子们，我们爱人，不要只在言语和舌头上，总要在行动和真诚上表现出来。

在　神面前可以坦然无惧

19-20 这样，我们就知道我们是属于真理的。即使我们的心责备我们，在　神面前我们也可以心安理得，因为他比我们的心大，他知道一切。 21 亲爱的，我们的心若不责备我们，在　神面前我们就可以坦然无惧了。 22 凡我们所求的，就必从他得着，因为我们遵守他的命令，作他所喜悦的事。 23 　神的命令，就是要我们信他的儿子耶稣基督的名，并且照着他的吩咐彼此相爱。 24 凡是遵守　神命令的，就住在　神里面，　神也住在他里面。凭着　神所赐给我们的圣灵，我们就可以知道　神住在我们里面。

3 你们看，父所赐给我们的是何等的爱，为要使我们被称为“神的儿女”，而我们就是神的儿女[a]。世人之所以不认识我们，是因为不认识父[b]。 2 各位蒙爱的人哪，现在我们是神的儿女，将来会怎样，尚未显明。[c]我们已经知道的是：基督[d]显现的时候，我们就会像他，因为我们将看见他的本相。 3 每一个对基督[e]怀有这盼望的，都会使自己纯洁，正如基督[f]是纯洁的。

4 凡是犯罪的，也是行恶[g]的；罪就是恶[h]。 5 你们知道，基督[i]曾经显现，是为了除去罪孽[j]；在他里面并没有罪。 6 凡是住在基督[k]里面的，就不继续犯罪；凡是继续犯罪的，就未曾看到他，也未曾认识他。

7 孩子们哪，不要让任何人迷惑你们。行义的人是公义的，正如基督[l]是公义的。 8 继续犯罪的人属于魔鬼，因为魔鬼从起初就一直犯罪。为此，神的儿子显现了，是为了废除魔鬼的作为。 9 凡是由神所生的，不继续犯罪，因为神的种子住在他里面；他也不能继续犯罪，因为他是由神所生的。 10 从这一点，谁是神的儿女，谁是魔鬼的儿女就清清楚楚了。

爱的命令

凡是不行公义的，就不属于神；不爱自己弟兄的，也不属于神。 11 因为你们从起初所听见的信息是这样的：我们要彼此相爱。 12 不要像该隐，他属于那恶者，杀了自己的弟弟[m]。他为什么杀弟弟呢？因为他自己的行为是恶的，而他弟弟的行为是义的。 13 弟兄们，如果世界恨你们，不要感到惊奇。 14 我们知道，因为我们爱弟兄，我们就已经出死入生了；那不爱弟兄的，就住在死亡中。 15 凡是恨自己弟兄的，就是杀人的，而你们知道：凡是杀人的，就没有永恒的生命住在他里面。

彼此相爱

16 我们从这一点就知道了爱：基督[n]为我们舍弃了自己的生命，我们也应该为弟兄舍弃生命。 17 但如果有人拥有世界的财产，看见自己的弟兄有需要，却封闭情感，那么，属神的爱怎么能住在他里面呢？

18 孩子们哪，让我们不在语言或口头上相爱，而在行为和真理中相爱， 19 从这一点我们就会知道我们属于真理。 20 就算我们的心责备自己，我们在神面前也可以安心，因为神比我们的心更大，并且他知道一切。

21 各位蒙爱的人哪，如果我们的心不责备我们，我们在神面前就可以坦然无惧， 22 这样，凡是我们所求的，就会从他得着；因为我们遵守他的命令，行他看为可喜悦的事。 23 而神的命令是这样的：我们要信他儿子耶稣基督的名，并且照着他所赐给我们的命令彼此相爱。 24 遵守神[o]命令的，就住在神[p]里面，神[q]也住在他里面；而且我们从这一点就知道神[r]住在我们里面，是藉着他所赐给我们的圣灵。

New International Version

3 See what great love(A) the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!(B) And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.(C) 2 Dear friends,(D) now we are children of God,(E) and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,[a](F) we shall be like him,(G) for we shall see him as he is.(H) 3 All who have this hope in him purify themselves,(I) just as he is pure.(J)

4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.(K) 5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins.(L) And in him is no sin.(M) 6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning.(N) No one who continues to sin has either seen him(O) or known him.(P)

7 Dear children,(Q) do not let anyone lead you astray.(R) The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.(S) 8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil,(T) because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God(U) appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.(V) 9 No one who is born of God(W) will continue to sin,(X) because God’s seed(Y) remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10 This is how we know who the children of God(Z) are and who the children of the devil(AA) are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love(AB) their brother and sister.(AC)

11 For this is the message you heard(AD) from the beginning:(AE) We should love one another.(AF) 12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one(AG) and murdered his brother.(AH) And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous.(AI) 13 Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters,[b] if the world hates you.(AJ) 14 We know that we have passed from death to life,(AK) because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.(AL) 15 Anyone who hates a brother or sister(AM) is a murderer,(AN) and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.(AO)

16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.(AP) And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.(AQ) 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them,(AR) how can the love of God be in that person?(AS) 18 Dear children,(AT) let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.(AU)

19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends,(AV) if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God(AW) 22 and receive from him anything we ask,(AX) because we keep his commands(AY) and do what pleases him.(AZ) 23 And this is his command: to believe(BA) in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ,(BB) and to love one another as he commanded us.(BC) 24 The one who keeps God’s commands(BD) lives in him,(BE) and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.(BF)
