耶和华的日子快来
2 你们要在锡安吹号，
并在我的圣山发出警讯，
让国中所有的居民都战栗，
因为耶和华的日子快到，必然临近了。
2 那日是黑暗幽冥的日子，
是密云漆黑的日子。
有一队众多强盛的民来到，
好象晨光满布群山；
这样的事从前没有发生过，
以后直到万代，也不会发生。
3 在他们前面有吞灭的火，
在他们后面有燃烧的火焰；
他们未到以前，大地像伊甸园，
他们过去以后，大地成了荒凉的旷野，
没有一样能逃避他们的。
4 他们的形状像马的形状，
战马怎样奔跑，他们也怎样奔跑。
5 他们在群山顶上跳跃的声音，
如战车的响声，
又如火焰
吞灭碎秸的响声，
像强盛的民
摆阵预备作战。
6 在他们面前，万民苦恼，
人人脸红耳赤。
7 他们奔跑像勇士，
又像战士爬上城墙；
他们各按自己的路前行，
并不偏离路线。
8 他们彼此不拥挤，
各按自己的道前行；
甚至他们持着兵器跌倒，
也不会被剪除。
9 他们冲入城镇，
奔上城墙，
爬进房屋，
像盗贼一样从窗户爬进去。
10 在他们面前，大地震动，
诸天摇撼，
日月昏暗，
星星无光。
11 耶和华在他的军队前头
发出声音；
他的队伍极大，
成就他话语的，是强盛的人。
耶和华的日子伟大，
非常可畏，谁能忍受得住呢？
呼吁人民悔改归向 神
12 耶和华说：
“现在虽然如此，
你们仍要全心全意，
以禁食、哭泣、哀号，归向我。”
13 你们要撕裂你们的心肠，
不要撕裂你们的衣服。
并要归向耶和华你们的 神，
因为他有恩典有怜悯，
不轻易发怒，
并且有丰盛的慈爱，
随时转意不降灾祸。
14 有谁知道或许他会转意，并且施慈爱，
留下余福，
就是留下献给耶和华你们的 神的素祭和奠祭。
15 你们要在锡安吹号角，
把禁食的日子分别为圣，
召开严肃会。
16 你们要召集民众，
使会众分别为圣；
招聚老人，
聚集孩童，
和在怀中吃奶的婴孩；
让新郎从新房出来，
新妇从内室出来。
17 让事奉耶和华的祭司
在圣殿的廊子和祭坛之间哭泣，
让他们说：“耶和华啊！求你怜恤你的子民。
不要使你的产业受羞辱，
使他们在列国中成为笑谈。
为甚么容人在万民中讥笑说：
‘他们的 神在哪里呢？’”
再赐恩福
18 于是耶和华为了自己的地发热心，
怜恤他的子民。
19 耶和华应允他的子民，对他们说：
“看哪！我必赐给你们
五谷、新酒和新油，
你们必吃得饱足，
我必不再使你们
成为列国中的羞辱。
20 我要使北方来的军队
远离你们；
我要把他们驱逐
到干旱荒凉之地，
他们的前队赶入东海，
他们的后队赶入西海；
并且他们的臭气上升，
他们的腥味上腾，
因为耶和华行了大事。
21 地土啊！你不要惧怕；
你要欢喜快乐，
因为耶和华行了大事。
22 田野的走兽啊，你们不要惧怕，
因为旷野的草场又发青了，
树木又结果子了，
无花果树和葡萄树也都效力了。
23 锡安的人民哪！你们要欢喜，
要靠耶和华你们的 神快乐，
因为他赐给了你们合时的秋雨。
他给你们降下时雨，
就是秋雨春雨，像以前一样。
24 禾场上必满了五谷；
榨酒池与油醡必溢出新酒与新油。
25 我差遣到你们中间去的，
我的大军队，
就是蝗虫、蝻子、蚂蚱和剪虫，
在那些年间吃尽的，
我必补给你们。
26 你们必吃得丰富，
并且饱足，
你们就赞美耶和华你们的 神的名，
因为他为你们行了奇妙的事。
我的子民必永远不会羞愧。
27 这样，你们必知道我是在以色列中间，
又知道我是耶和华你们的 神，除了我再没有别的神。
我的子民必永远不会羞愧。
应许赐下圣灵
28 “以后，我要把我的灵
浇灌所有的人。
你们的儿女要说预言，
你们的老年人要作异梦，
你们的少年人要见异象。
29 在那些日子，我也要把我的灵浇灌仆人和婢女。
30 我要在天上地下显出神迹奇事，
有血、有火、有烟柱。
31 太阳将变为黑暗，
月亮将变为血红。
在耶和华伟大可畏的日子临到以前，
这一切都要发生。
32 那时，求告耶和华的名的，
都必得救；
因为正如耶和华所说的，

Good News Translation
The Locusts as a Warning of the Day of the Lord
2 Blow the trumpet; sound the alarm
on Zion, God's sacred hill.[a]
Tremble, people of Judah!
The day of the Lord is coming soon.
2 It will be a dark and gloomy day,
a black and cloudy day.
The great army of locusts advances
like darkness spreading over the mountains.
There has never been anything like it,
and there never will be again.
3 Like fire they eat up the plants.
In front of them the land is like the Garden of Eden,
but behind them it is a barren desert.
Nothing escapes them.
4 (A)They look like horses;
they run like war-horses.
5 As they leap on the tops of the mountains,
they rattle like chariots;
they crackle like dry grass on fire.
They are lined up like a great army ready for battle.
6 As they approach, everyone is terrified;
every face turns pale.
7 They attack like warriors;
they climb the walls like soldiers.
They all keep marching straight ahead
and do not change direction
8 or get in each other's way.
They swarm through defenses,
and nothing can stop them.
9 They rush against the city;
they run over the walls;
they climb up the houses
and go in through the windows like thieves.
10 (B)The earth shakes as they advance;
the sky trembles.
The sun and the moon grow dark,
and the stars no longer shine.
11 (C)The Lord thunders commands to his army.
The troops that obey him
are many and mighty.
How terrible is the day of the Lord!
Who will survive it?
A Call to Repentance
12 “But even now,” says the Lord,
“repent sincerely and return to me
with fasting and weeping and mourning.
13 Let your broken heart show your sorrow;
tearing your clothes is not enough.”
Come back to the Lord your God.
He is kind and full of mercy;
he is patient and keeps his promise;
he is always ready to forgive and not punish.
14 Perhaps the Lord your God will change his mind
and bless you with abundant crops.
Then you can offer him grain and wine.
15 Blow the trumpet on Mount Zion;
give orders for a fast and call an assembly!
16 Gather the people together;
prepare them for a sacred meeting;
bring the old people;
gather the children
and the babies too.
Even newly married couples
must leave their homes and come.
17 (D)The priests, serving the Lord
between the altar and the entrance of the Temple,
must weep and pray:
“Have pity on your people, Lord.
Do not let other nations despise us and mock us
by saying, ‘Where is your God?’”
God Restores Fertility to the Land
18 Then the Lord showed concern for his land;
he had mercy on his people.
19 He answered them:
“Now I am going to give you
grain and wine and olive oil,
and you will be satisfied.
Other nations will no longer despise you.
20 I will remove the locust army that came from the north
and will drive some of them into the desert.
Their front ranks will be driven into the Dead Sea,
their rear ranks into the Mediterranean.
Their dead bodies will stink.
I will destroy them because of all they have done to you.
21 “Fields, don't be afraid,
but be joyful and glad
because of all the Lord has done for you.
22 Animals, don't be afraid.
The pastures are green;
the trees bear their fruit,
and there are plenty of figs and grapes.
23 “Be glad, people of Zion,
rejoice at what the Lord your God has done for you.
He has given you the right amount of autumn rain;[b]
he has poured down the winter rain for you
and the spring rain as before.
24 The threshing places will be full of grain;
the pits beside the presses will overflow with wine and olive oil.
25 I will give you back what you lost
in the years when swarms of locusts ate your crops.
It was I who sent this army against you.
26 Now you will have plenty to eat, and be satisfied.
You will praise the Lord your God,
who has done wonderful things for you.
My people will never be despised again.
27 Then, Israel, you will know that I am among you
and that I, the Lord, am your God
and there is no other.
My people will never be despised again.
The Day of the Lord
28 “Afterward I will pour out my Spirit on everyone:
your sons and daughters will proclaim my message;
your old people will have dreams,
and your young people will see visions.
29 At that time I will pour out my Spirit
even on servants, both men and women.
30 “I will give warnings of that day
in the sky and on the earth;
there will be bloodshed, fire, and clouds of smoke.
31 (E)The sun will be darkened,
and the moon will turn red as blood
before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.
32 (F)But all who ask the Lord for help will be saved.
As the Lord has said,
‘Some in Jerusalem will escape;
those whom I choose will survive.’”

2 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.
3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.
5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
6 Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.
7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks:
8 Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
9 They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.
10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:
11 And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
12 Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the Lord your God?
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
17 Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?
18 Then will the Lord be jealous for his land, and pity his people.
19 Yea, the Lord will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen:
20 But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.
21 Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things.
22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
24 And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.
25 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.
32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.

প্রভুর আগমনের দিন
2 সিয়োনে শিঙা বাজাও।
আমার পবিত্র পর্বতে জোরে চিৎকার করো।
দেশের সমস্ত বাসিন্দারা
ভয়ে কেঁপে উঠুক।
কারণ প্রভুর দিন আসছে
এবং তা সন্নিকট।
2 সেটা এক অন্ধকার, বিষণ্ন দিন হবে।
এটা অন্ধকার এবং মেঘলা দিন হবে।
অন্ধকার যেভাবে পর্বতে ছেয়ে যায়
সেইভাবে বিশাল ও শক্তিশালী সৈন্য দেখা যাবে।
এর আগে কখনও এমন হয় নি।
আর এর পরেও এমন হবে না।
3 আগুন তাদের সামনে গ্রাস করবে
এবং অগ্নিশিখা তাদের পশ্চাতে জ্বলবে।
তাদের সামনের দেশ হবে
যেন এক এদোন উদ্যান।
কিন্তু তাদের পশ্চাতে দেশ
যেন শূন্য মরুভূমি।
কোন কিছুই তাদের এড়িয়ে যাবে না।
4 তাদের দেখতে ঘোড়ার মত।
আর যুদ্ধের ঘোড়ার মতো তারা দৌড়ায়।
5 ঐ শোন পর্বতের ওপর তাদের রথের শব্দ।
সেই শব্দ খড় জ্বালানো আগুনের শব্দের মতো
এবং একটি শক্তিশালী সৈন্য বাহিনীর মত
যারা যুদ্ধ করতে আসছে।
6 ঐ সৈন্যদলের সামনে লোকে ভয়ে কাঁপে।
তাদের মুখ ভয়ে বিবর্ণ হবে।
7 তারা দ্রুত দৌড়ায়
এবং যোদ্ধাদের মতো তারা প্রাচীরে চড়তে পটু।
তারা কুচকাওয়াজ করে সামনে এগিয়ে যায়।
তারা তাদের পথ থেকে সরে যায় না।
8 তারা একে অন্যের সঙ্গে ধাক্কাধাক্কি করে না।
প্রত্যেক সৈন্য তার নিজের পথে চলে।
এমনকি যদি একজন সৈন্য আহত হয়ে পড়ে
অন্যরা ঠিক ভাবেই কুচকাওয়াজ করে চলে।
9 তারা শহরের মধ্যে দৌড়ে যায়।
তারা দ্রুত প্রাচীরের উপর ওঠে।
ঘরের মধ্যে উঠে পড়ে।
জানালা দিয়ে চোরের মত ঢুকে পড়ে।
10 তাদের সামনে যেন পৃথিবী ও আকাশ কেঁপে ওঠে।
সূর্য ও চাঁদ অন্ধকার হয়ে যায় এবং তারারা উজ্জ্বলতা প্রকাশ বন্ধ করে।
11 প্রভু নিজে তাঁর সৈন্যদের চিৎকার করে ডাকছেন।
তাঁর শিবির খুব বড়।
সত্যি সেই সৈন্যরা তাঁর আদেশ মানে।
তারা খুবই শক্তিশালী।
প্রভুর দিন হবে সত্যি তীব্র ও ভয়ানক;
কে তা সহ্য করতে পারে?
পরিবর্তনের জন্য লোকদের কাছে প্রভুর আহবান
12 প্রভু বললেন,
“এখন তোমরা সর্বান্তঃকরণে আমার কাছে ফিরে এস।
উপবাস, রোদন ও বিলাপ করতে করতে এস!
13 আর তোমাদের হৃদয় ছিন্ন কর, তোমাদের বস্ত্র নয়।”
তোমাদের প্রভু ঈশ্বরের কাছেই ফিরে এস।
কারণ তিনি কৃপাময়।
তিনি চট করে রেগে ওঠেন না।
তিনি মহা দয়াময়।
হয়তো তিনি যে অমঙ্গলের পরিকল্পনা করেছিলেন
সে বিষয়ে তাঁর মন পরিবর্তন করবেন।
14 কে জানে, প্রভু হয়তো তাঁর মন পরিবর্তন করতে পারেন।
এমনকি তিনি হয়তো তোমাদের জন্য পশ্চাতে আশীর্বাদ রেখেও যেতে পারেন।
তাহলে তোমরা প্রভু, তোমাদের ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশ্যে
বলি ও পেয় নৈবেদ্য উৎসর্গ করতে সক্ষম হবে।
প্রভুর কাছে প্রার্থনা কর
15 সিয়োনে শিঙা বাজাও।
উপবাসের দিন ঠিক কর।
বিশেষ সভার দিন ঘোষণা কর।
16 লোকদের একত্র কর।
বিশেষ সভা ডাক।
বয়স্ক লোকদের একত্র কর।
শিশু ও বাচ্চাদের একত্র কর।
বর ও কনেরা তাদের শয্যা ঘর
থেকে বেরিয়ে আসুক।
17 বারান্দা ও বেদীর মধ্যে
যাজকরা, প্রভুর দাসরা কাঁদুক।
তাদের সবাই বলুক:
“প্রভু তোমার লোকদের প্রতি কৃপা কর।
তোমার লোকদের লজ্জায় পড়তে দিও না।
অন্য দেশের লোকদের তোমার লোকদের নিয়ে ঠাট্টা করতে দিও না।
অন্য দেশের লোকদের হেসে বলতে দিও না,
‘ওদের ঈশ্বর কোথায়?’”
প্রভু আবার দেশ পুনঃস্থাপন করবেন
18 তখন প্রভু তাঁর দেশের জন্য ঈর্ষাকাতর হবেন
এবং তাঁর লোকদের দয়া করবেন।
19 তখন প্রভু তাঁর লোকদের সঙ্গে কথা বললেন,
এবং বললেন, “আমি তোমাদের কাছে শস্য দ্রাক্ষারস ও অলিভ তেল পাঠাবো
এবং তোমরা প্রচুর পাবে ও তাতে তোমরা সন্তুষ্ট হবে।
আমি আর অন্য দেশকে তোমাদের কখনও অপমান করতে দেব না।
20 আমি উত্তর দেশীয় লোকদের তোমাদের কাছ থেকে বহু দূরে পাঠাব
এবং আমি তাদের শুষ্ক ও ধ্বংসপ্রাপ্ত দেশে নির্বাসনে পাঠাব।
আমি তাদের কিছু লোককে পূর্বদিকের সমুদ্রে
এবং কিছু লোককে পশ্চিমের ভূমধ্যসাগরে পাঠাব।
তারা পচে যাবে
এবং তাদের পূর্ত্তিগন্ধ ওপরে উঠবে,
কারণ তারা অনেক ক্ষতি করেছে!”
ভূমিকে নবায়িত করা হবে
21 হে দেশ, ভয় কোরো না।
আনন্দ অনুষ্ঠান কর
কারণ প্রভু অনেক মহৎ কাজ করবেন।
22 মাঠের পশুরা ভয় পেয়ো না
কারণ প্রান্তরের ভূমিতে আবার ঘাস জন্মাবে।
গাছে আবার ফল ধরবে,
এবং ডুমুর ও দ্রাক্ষা গাছে আবার উত্তম ফল হবে।
23 সিয়োনের লোকরা তোমরা প্রভু ঈশ্বরেতে আনন্দ অনুষ্ঠান কর।
কারণ তিনি তাঁর উদারতার চিহ্ন হিসাবে বৃষ্টি বর্ষাবেন।
তা ছাড়াও তিনি আগের মতোই
তোমাদের আগে আগে বৃষ্টি ও শেষের দিকে বৃষ্টি দেবেন।
24 আর ঢেঁকির মেঝেগুলি শস্যে ভরে যাবে,
অলিভ তেলে ও দ্রাক্ষারসে পিপেগুলো ভরে উপচে পড়বে।
25 “আমি তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে
যে সমস্ত ঝাঁকের পঙ্গপাল, লাফানে পঙ্গপাল,
ধ্বংসকারী পঙ্গপাল এবং কাটুরে পঙ্গপাল অর্থাৎ আমার মহা সৈন্যদের পাঠিয়েছিলাম
যারা সেই বছর তোমাদের শস্য ধ্বংস করেছে
তা আমি পরিশোধ করব।
26 তোমরা প্রচুর খাবার খেয়ে তৃপ্ত হবে
এবং প্রভু তোমাদের ঈশ্বরের নামের প্রশংসা করবে।
কারণ তিনি তোমাদের জন্য চমৎকার অলৌকিক কাজ করেছেন।
প্রভু বলেন, আমার লোকরা আর কখনও লজ্জিত হবে না।
27 আর তোমরা জানবে যে আমি (প্রভু) ইস্রায়েলের মধ্যে বাস করি।
আমিই তোমাদের প্রভু ও ঈশ্বর
আর কোন ঈশ্বর নেই।
আমার লোকরা আর কখনও লজ্জিত হবে না।”
ঈশ্বর সমস্ত লোকদের তাঁর আত্মা দেবেন
28 “এখন থেকে আমি আমার আত্মা সবার মধ্যে ঢেলে দেব।
এর ফলে তোমাদের ছেলেমেয়েরা ভাববাণী বলবে।
বয়স্ক লোকরা স্বপ্ন দেখবে
আর তোমাদের কনিষ্ঠরা দর্শন পাবে।
29 আর সেই সময় আমি এমনকি,
তোমাদের দাসদাসীদের ওপরও আমার আত্মা ঢেলে দেব।
30 আমি আকাশে ও পৃথিবীতে চিহ্ন দেখাব।
রক্ত, আগুন ও ধোঁয়ার স্তম্ভ দেখা যাবে।
31 সূর্য অন্ধকার হয়ে যাবে, চাঁদ রক্তের মত লাল হয়ে যাবে।
আর তারপর প্রভুর সেই মহান ও ভয়ঙ্কর দিন আসবে!
32 আর যারাই প্রভুর নাম ডাকে তারা রক্ষা পাবে।
কারণ প্রভুর বাক্যানুসারে ঐ সমস্ত লোক সিয়োন পর্বতে
ও জেরুশালেমে বেঁচে থাকবে।
হ্যাঁ, ঐ সমস্ত বেঁচে যাওয়া লোক, যাদের প্রভু ডেকেছেন তারাই ফিরে আসবে।
