约拿书 1:9-11

⁹约拿回答说：“我是希伯来人，我敬畏耶和华，祂是创造海洋陆地、掌管诸天的上帝。” ¹⁰之后，他就把怎样逃避耶和华的事告诉他们。众人知道后，万分恐惧，问他：“你怎么做出这种事？”

¹¹那时，风浪越来越大，他们便对约拿说：“我们要怎样处置你，才能使风浪平静呢？”

⁹約拿回答說：「我是希伯來人，我敬畏耶和華，祂是創造海洋陸地、掌管諸天的上帝。」 ¹⁰之後，他就把怎樣逃避耶和華的事告訴他們。眾人知道後，萬分恐懼，問他：「你怎麼做出這種事？」

¹¹那時，風浪越來越大，他們便對約拿說：「我們要怎樣處置你，才能使風浪平靜呢？」

⁹He answered, “I am a Hebrew and I worship the Lord,^(A) the God of heaven,^(B) who made the sea^(C) and the dry land.^(D)”

¹⁰This terrified them and they asked, “What have you done?” (They knew he was running away from the Lord, because he had already told them so.)

¹¹The sea was getting rougher and rougher. So they asked him, “What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?”
