善人与恶人的苦况
24 “为甚么全能者不保留赏善罚恶的时间？
为甚么认识他的人不能看见他的日子？
2 恶人挪移地界，
抢夺群畜去牧养。
3 他们赶走孤儿的驴，
强取寡妇的牛作抵押。
4 他们使穷人离开大道，
世上的贫民都一起躲藏起来。
5 这些贫穷人像旷野的野驴，
出外劳碌，殷勤寻觅食物，
野地为他们和他们的孩子供应食物。
6 他们在田里收割草料，
在恶人的葡萄园中摘取剩余的葡萄。
7 他们赤身露体无衣过夜，
在寒冷中毫无遮盖。
8 他被山上的大雨淋湿，
因为没有躲避之处就紧抱盘石。
9 有人从母亲的怀中抢走孤儿，
又强取穷人的衣物作抵押，
10 因此穷人赤身露体流浪，
他们因饥饿就抬走禾捆；

24 ¿Por qué el Todopoderoso no señala fechas para actuar,
de modo que sus amigos puedan verlas?
2 Los malvados cambian los linderos de los campos,
roban ovejas para aumentar sus rebaños,
3 despojan de sus animales
a los huérfanos y las viudas.
4 Apartan a los pobres del camino,
y la gente humilde tiene que esconderse.
5 Los pobres, como asnos salvajes del desierto,
salen a buscar con trabajo su comida,
y del desierto sacan alimento para sus hijos.
6 Van a recoger espigas en campos ajenos
o a rebuscar en los viñedos de los malos.
7 Pasan la noche sin nada con que cubrirse,
sin nada que los proteja del frío.
8 La lluvia de las montañas los empapa,
y se abrazan a las rocas en busca de refugio.
9 Les quitan a las viudas sus recién nacidos,
y a los pobres les exigen prendas.
10 Los pobres andan casi desnudos,
cargando trigo mientras se mueren de hambre.
11 Mueven las piedras del molino para sacar aceite;
pisan las uvas para hacer vino,
y mientras tanto se mueren de sed.
12 Lejos de la ciudad, los que agonizan
lloran y lanzan gemidos,
pero Dios no escucha su oración.
13 Hay algunos que odian la luz,
y en todos sus caminos se apartan de ella.
14 El asesino madruga para matar al pobre,
y al anochecer se convierte en ladrón.
15 El adúltero espera a que oscurezca,
y se tapa bien la cara,
pensando: «Así nadie me ve.»
16 El ladrón se mete de noche en las casas.
Todos ellos se encierran de día;
son enemigos de la luz.
17 La luz del día es para ellos densa oscuridad;
prefieren los horrores de la noche.

18 El malvado es arrastrado por el agua.
Sus tierras quedan bajo maldición
y nadie vuelve a trabajar en sus viñedos.
19 Con el calor de la sequía, la nieve se derrite;
y en el sepulcro, el pecador desaparece.
20 Su propia madre se olvidará de él;
los gusanos se lo comerán,
y nadie volverá a acordarse de él.
El malo caerá como un árbol cortado.
21 Con las mujeres sin hijos y con las viudas
fue siempre cruel; jamás las ayudó.
22 Pero Dios, con su fuerza, derriba a los poderosos;
cuando él actúa, nadie tiene segura la vida.
23 Dios los deja vivir confiados,
pero vigila cada uno de sus pasos.
24 Por un momento se levanta el malo,
pero pronto deja de existir.
Se marchita como hierba arrancada,
como espiga que se dobla.
25 Y si esto no es así, ¿quién podrá desmentirme
y probar que estoy equivocado?

24 Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?
2 Some remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed thereof.
3 They drive away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow's ox for a pledge.
4 They turn the needy out of the way: the poor of the earth hide themselves together.
5 Behold, as wild asses in the desert, go they forth to their work; rising betimes for a prey: the wilderness yieldeth food for them and for their children.
6 They reap every one his corn in the field: and they gather the vintage of the wicked.
7 They cause the naked to lodge without clothing, that they have no covering in the cold.
8 They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter.
9 They pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor.
10 They cause him to go naked without clothing, and they take away the sheaf from the hungry;
11 Which make oil within their walls, and tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.
12 Men groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded crieth out: yet God layeth not folly to them.
13 They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.
14 The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.
15 The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face.
16 In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime: they know not the light.
17 For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.
18 He is swift as the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth: he beholdeth not the way of the vineyards.
19 Drought and heat consume the snow waters: so doth the grave those which have sinned.
20 The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.
21 He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.
22 He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life.
23 Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth; yet his eyes are upon their ways.
24 They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.
25 And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?
