22 约书亚召来了吕便、迦得和玛拿西半个支派的人来， 2 对他们说：“你们都遵守了耶和华的仆人摩西的一切吩咐，也遵守了我的一切吩咐。 3 这些日子以来，你们从没有离弃自己的弟兄，遵守了你们的上帝耶和华的吩咐。 4 现在你们的上帝耶和华已经照祂的应许使你们的弟兄安居，你们可以回到约旦河东，到摩西赐给你们作产业的地方。 5 不过，你们要谨遵耶和华的仆人摩西吩咐你们的诫命和律法，要爱你们的上帝耶和华，遵行祂的旨意，听从祂的命令，忠于祂，全心全意地事奉祂。”
6 于是，约书亚为他们祝福，送他们回去，他们就各自返回家园去了。

13 以色列人派祭司以利亚撒的儿子非尼哈去基列见他们， 14 又从每支派差遣一位族长，共十位随行。 15 他们来到基列的吕便、迦得和玛拿西半个支派的人那里，对他们说： 16 “耶和华的全体会众问你们，你们怎能这样背叛以色列的上帝，离弃耶和华，为自己另建祭坛呢？ 17 从前拜毗珥的罪恶不够大吗？那一次，瘟疫降到耶和华的会众身上，直到今日我们还没有洗净这罪。 18 你们今日要离弃耶和华吗？今日你们背叛耶和华，明日祂必向以色列全体会众发怒。 19 如果你们认为自己的土地不洁净，可以搬到耶和华的土地跟我们一起居住，这里有耶和华的圣幕。只是不可在耶和华的祭坛以外，自己另筑祭坛，以致背叛耶和华，连累我们。 20 从前谢拉的曾孙亚干私自留下那些耶和华吩咐要毁灭的东西，以致耶和华的烈怒临到以色列全体会众，因他的罪而死的不只他一个人！”
21 吕便、迦得和玛拿西半个支派的人便回答这些以色列的族长说： 22 “大能的上帝耶和华，大能的上帝耶和华，祂知道一切！以色列人也当知道！如果我们做了违背或干犯耶和华的事，愿祂今天就不放过我们！ 23 如果我们离弃耶和华，为自己造祭坛，或是在坛上献燔祭、素祭和平安祭，愿耶和华亲自惩罚我们。 24 我们这样做是怕以后你们的子孙可能会对我们的子孙说，‘你们和以色列的上帝耶和华有什么关系？ 25 耶和华把约旦河定为我们跟你们吕便和迦得人的边界，你们与耶和华一点关系也没有。’这样，恐怕你们的子孙会使我们的子孙不再敬畏耶和华。 26 因此，我们便商议在这里筑一座祭坛，这坛不是用来献燔祭或别的祭， 27 只是在你们和我们之间，也在彼此的后人之间立个证据，证明我们也献燔祭、平安祭及其他祭事奉耶和华，免得日后你们的子孙对我们的子孙说，‘你们与耶和华一点关系也没有。’ 28 万一你们对我们或我们的子孙这样说，我们可以回答说，‘你们看我们祖先筑的这座祭坛跟耶和华的祭坛一模一样，只是这座坛不是用来献燔祭或别的祭，而是作为你们和我们之间的证据！’ 29 我们根本无意背叛、离弃我们的上帝耶和华，在祂圣幕前的祭坛以外另筑祭坛来献燔祭、素祭和别的祭。”
30 祭司非尼哈和以色列会众的族长听了他们的解释，都很满意。 31 以利亚撒的儿子祭司非尼哈对他们说：“今日我们知道耶和华在我们当中，因为你们没有对耶和华不忠，现在你们使以色列人免遭耶和华的惩罚了。”
32 以利亚撒的儿子非尼哈祭司和众族长便离开吕便人和迦得人，从基列回到迦南向以色列人报告这事。 33 大家听后，都很满意，便颂赞耶和华，打消了出兵讨伐吕便人和迦得人、毁灭他们家园的念头。
34 吕便和迦得人给那座祭坛取名叫“证坛”，意思是这坛在我们中间证明耶和华是上帝。

22 Иешуа созвал роды Рувима, Гада и половину рода Манассы 2 и сказал им:
– Вы исполнили всё, что повелел вам Муса, раб Вечного, и были послушны мне во всём, что я вам повелевал. 3 Долгое время, до этого самого дня, вы не оставляли своих братьев, но несли служение, которое дал вам Вечный, ваш Бог. 4 Теперь Вечный, ваш Бог, дал вашим братьям покой, как Он и обещал. Поэтому возвращайтесь домой, в землю, которую Муса, раб Вечного, дал вам на другой стороне Иордана. 5 Только прилежно исполняйте повеления и Закон, которые дал вам Муса, раб Вечного: любите Вечного, вашего Бога, ходите всеми Его путями, храните Его повеления, крепко держитесь Его и служите Ему от всего сердца и от всей души.

Если сегодня вы восстанете против Вечного, то завтра Он разгневается на весь народ Исраила. 19 Если ваша земля нечиста, то перейдите в землю Вечного, где стоит священный шатёр Вечного, и разделите землю с нами. Только не восставайте против Вечного и против нас[b], сооружая себе иной жертвенник, нежели жертвенник Вечного, нашего Бога. 20 Разве когда Ахан, правнук Зераха, нечестно поступил с подлежащими уничтожению вещами, не обрушился гнев на весь народ Исраила? А за тот грех умер не он один».
21 Рувимиты, гадиты и половина рода Манассы ответили главам исраильских кланов:
22 – Вечный – Бог богов! Вечный – Бог богов! Он знает, и Исраил пусть знает, – если это было восстание или предательство против Вечного, то не щадите[c] нас сегодня. 23 Если мы построили свой собственный жертвенник, чтобы, отступив от Вечного, приносить на нём всесожжения и хлебные приношения или совершать жертвы примирения, то пусть Сам Вечный призовёт нас к ответу. 24 Нет! Мы сделали это из страха, что однажды ваши потомки могут сказать нашим: «Что вам до Вечного, Бога Исраила? 25 Вечный сделал Иордан границей между нами и вами, рувимиты и гадиты! Нет у вас доли в Вечном». Так ваши потомки могут заставить наших перестать чтить Вечного.
26 Вот почему мы сказали: «Приготовимся и соорудим жертвенник, но не для всесожжений или жертвоприношений». 27 Напротив, пусть он будет свидетелем между нами и вами и грядущими поколениями, что мы чтим Вечного в Его святилище своими всесожжениями, приношениями и жертвами примирения. Тогда в будущем ваши потомки не смогут сказать нашим: «Нет у вас доли в Вечном». 28 Мы решили, что если они когда-нибудь скажут это нам или нашим потомкам, то мы ответим: «Посмотрите на жертвенник, который соорудили наши отцы по образу жертвенника Вечного не для всесожжений или приношений, но для свидетельства между нами и вами».

– Сегодня мы узнали, что Вечный с нами, что вы не совершили против Вечного этого предательства. Теперь вы избавили исраильтян от руки Вечного.
32 И священнослужитель Пинхас, сын Элеазара, возвратился вместе с вождями от рувимитов и гадитов в Галааде и принёс от них ответ в Ханаан, к исраильтянам. 33 Те были рады услышать эту весть и возблагодарили Аллаха. И больше они не говорили о том, чтобы пойти войной на страну, где живут рувимиты и гадиты, и опустошить её.
34 А рувимиты и гадиты назвали жертвенник «Свидетель», потому что они говорили: «Это свидетель между нами, что Вечный – наш Бог».

22 Then Joshua summoned the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh 2 and said to them, “You have done all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded,(A) and you have obeyed me in everything I commanded. 3 For a long time now—to this very day—you have not deserted your fellow Israelites but have carried out the mission the Lord your God gave you. 4 Now that the Lord your God has given them rest(B) as he promised, return to your homes(C) in the land that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side of the Jordan.(D) 5 But be very careful to keep the commandment(E) and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord(F) your God, to walk in obedience to him, to keep his commands,(G) to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.(H)”
6 Then Joshua blessed(I) them and sent them away, and they went to their homes. 7 (To the half-tribe of Manasseh Moses had given land in Bashan,(J) and to the other half of the tribe Joshua gave land on the west side(K) of the Jordan along with their fellow Israelites.) When Joshua sent them home, he blessed them,(L) 8 saying, “Return to your homes with your great wealth—with large herds of livestock,(M) with silver, gold, bronze and iron,(N) and a great quantity of clothing—and divide(O) the plunder(P) from your enemies with your fellow Israelites.”
9 So the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh left the Israelites at Shiloh(Q) in Canaan to return to Gilead,(R) their own land, which they had acquired in accordance with the command of the Lord through Moses.
10 When they came to Geliloth(S) near the Jordan in the land of Canaan, the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh built an imposing altar(T) there by the Jordan. 11 And when the Israelites heard that they had built the altar on the border of Canaan at Geliloth near the Jordan on the Israelite side, 12 the whole assembly of Israel gathered at Shiloh(U) to go to war against them.
13 So the Israelites sent Phinehas(V) son of Eleazar,(W) the priest, to the land of Gilead—to Reuben, Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh. 14 With him they sent ten of the chief men, one from each of the tribes of Israel, each the head of a family division among the Israelite clans.(X)
15 When they went to Gilead—to Reuben, Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh—they said to them: 16 “The whole assembly of the Lord says: ‘How could you break faith(Y) with the God of Israel like this? How could you turn away from the Lord and build yourselves an altar in rebellion(Z) against him now? 17 Was not the sin of Peor(AA) enough for us? Up to this very day we have not cleansed ourselves from that sin, even though a plague fell on the community of the Lord! 18 And are you now turning away from the Lord?
“‘If you rebel against the Lord today, tomorrow he will be angry with the whole community(AB) of Israel. 19 If the land you possess is defiled, come over to the Lord’s land, where the Lord’s tabernacle(AC) stands, and share the land with us. But do not rebel against the Lord or against us by building an altar(AD) for yourselves, other than the altar of the Lord our God. 20 When Achan son of Zerah was unfaithful in regard to the devoted things,[a](AE) did not wrath(AF) come on the whole community(AG) of Israel? He was not the only one who died for his sin.’”(AH)
21 Then Reuben, Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh replied to the heads of the clans of Israel: 22 “The Mighty One, God, the Lord! The Mighty One, God,(AI) the Lord!(AJ) He knows!(AK) And let Israel know! If this has been in rebellion or disobedience to the Lord, do not spare us this day. 23 If we have built our own altar to turn away from the Lord and to offer burnt offerings and grain offerings,(AL) or to sacrifice fellowship offerings on it, may the Lord himself call us to account.(AM)
24 “No! We did it for fear that some day your descendants might say to ours, ‘What do you have to do with the Lord, the God of Israel? 25 The Lord has made the Jordan a boundary between us and you—you Reubenites and Gadites! You have no share in the Lord.’ So your descendants might cause ours to stop fearing the Lord.
26 “That is why we said, ‘Let us get ready and build an altar—but not for burnt offerings or sacrifices.’ 27 On the contrary, it is to be a witness(AN) between us and you and the generations that follow, that we will worship the Lord at his sanctuary with our burnt offerings, sacrifices and fellowship offerings.(AO) Then in the future your descendants will not be able to say to ours, ‘You have no share in the Lord.’
28 “And we said, ‘If they ever say this to us, or to our descendants, we will answer: Look at the replica of the Lord’s altar, which our ancestors built, not for burnt offerings and sacrifices, but as a witness(AP) between us and you.’
29 “Far be it from us to rebel(AQ) against the Lord and turn away from him today by building an altar for burnt offerings, grain offerings and sacrifices, other than the altar of the Lord our God that stands before his tabernacle.(AR)”
30 When Phinehas the priest and the leaders of the community—the heads of the clans of the Israelites—heard what Reuben, Gad and Manasseh had to say, they were pleased. 31 And Phinehas son of Eleazar, the priest, said to Reuben, Gad and Manasseh, “Today we know that the Lord is with us,(AS) because you have not been unfaithful to the Lord in this matter. Now you have rescued the Israelites from the Lord’s hand.”
32 Then Phinehas son of Eleazar, the priest, and the leaders returned to Canaan from their meeting with the Reubenites and Gadites in Gilead and reported to the Israelites.(AT) 33 They were glad to hear the report and praised God.(AU) And they talked no more about going to war against them to devastate the country where the Reubenites and the Gadites lived.
34 And the Reubenites and the Gadites gave the altar this name: A Witness(AV) Between Us—that the Lord is God.

22 Então Josué reuniu as tribos de Rúben, de Gade e a parte leste da tribo de Manassés. 2 E lhes disse:
—Vocês foram obedientes a tudo o que Moisés, o servo do SENHOR, ordenou, e também fizeram tudo o que eu ordenei. 3 Durante todo este tempo, até hoje, vocês não abandonaram os seus irmãos, e têm cumprido as ordens do SENHOR, seu Deus. 4 Agora o SENHOR, seu Deus, já deu um lugar seguro aos seus irmãos como tinha prometido. Por isso, vocês já podem voltar para as suas tendas, para a terra que o SENHOR deu a vocês, no outro lado do Jordão. 5 Somente lhes digo que cumpram fielmente os mandamentos e a lei que Moisés, o servo do SENHOR, deu: amem o SENHOR, seu Deus, façam sempre a sua vontade, obedeçam aos seus mandamentos, mantenham-se unidos a ele, e sirvam-no com todo o coração e com toda a sua alma.
6 Então Josué os abençoou e se despediu deles, e eles voltaram para os seus lugares.
7 A uma parte da tribo de Manassés, Moisés tinha dado um território em Basã. À outra parte, foi Josué quem lhes deu terras no lado oeste do Jordão, entre os outros israelitas.
Quando Josué mandou que voltassem para as suas tendas, ele os abençoou, 8 dizendo:
—Voltem para as suas tendas com a riqueza que juntaram: todo o gado, prata, ouro, bronze, ferro e muita roupa. Repartam com os seus o que tiraram do inimigo.
9 Assim foi como os rubenitas, os gaditas e metade da tribo de Manassés deixaram os outros israelitas em Siló, na terra de Canaã, e voltaram para as suas próprias terras em Gileade. Eram essas as terras que lhes pertenciam de acordo com a ordem do SENHOR, dada por meio de Moisés.
10 As tribos de Rúben, Gade e a metade da tribo de Manassés chegaram a Guelilot, perto do Jordão, na terra de Canaã, e ali construíram um grande altar. 11 Os outros israelitas souberam que as tribos de Rúben, Gade e a metade da tribo de Manassés tinham construído esse altar na fronteira de Canaã, em Guelilot, perto do Jordão, no lado israelita. 12 Então todos os israelitas se reuniram em Siló para lutar contra eles.
13 Os israelitas enviaram Fineias, filho do sacerdote Eleazar, à terra de Gileade, para falar com os rubenitas, os gaditas e a metade tribo de Manassés. 14 Foram com ele dez chefes, um de cada tribo de Israel. Cada um deles era o chefe das suas respectivas famílias dentre os clãs de Israel. 15 Quando chegaram à terra de Gileade, disseram aos rubenitas, aos gaditas e à metade tribo de Manassés:
16 —Assim diz toda a congregação do SENHOR: “O que vocês estão fazendo? Estão cometendo traição contra o Deus de Israel. Ao construírem um altar, vocês estão abandonando o SENHOR e estão se revoltando contra ele. 17 Não bastou o pecado cometido em Peor?[a] Deus castigou toda a comunidade do SENHOR com uma doença terrível e ainda hoje estamos sofrendo por causa disso. 18 E agora vocês estão fazendo a mesma coisa. Se vocês hoje se revoltarem contra o SENHOR, amanhã a ira do SENHOR cairá sobre toda a comunidade de Israel. 19 Se não podem erguer um altar na sua terra por ela ser impura, venham para a terra do SENHOR onde está a Tenda Sagrada do SENHOR e fiquem com uma parte do território entre nós. Mas não se revoltem contra o SENHOR, nem contra nós, construindo um altar diferente do altar do SENHOR, nosso Deus. 20 Lembrem-se de Acã, filho de Zera, que se revoltou contra a ordem de destruir todas as coisas. Por causa disso, toda a nação de Israel foi castigada. Não foi só Acã que morreu por causa do seu pecado”.
21 Então os rubenitas, os gaditas e a metade tribo de Manassés responderam aos chefes dos clãs de Israel:
22 —O SENHOR é o Deus de todos os deuses! Afirmamos de novo que o SENHOR é o Deus de todos os deuses! Ele sabe por que fizemos isto e queremos que Israel também o saiba. Se nos revoltamos ou desobedecemos ao SENHOR, vocês podem nos condenar e matar. 23 Que o SENHOR nos castigue se foi para abandonarmos o SENHOR que construímos este altar! Que o SENHOR nos castigue se nele oferecermos sacrifícios queimados, ofertas de cereais ou ofertas de comunhão! 24 Construímos o altar porque estamos preocupados que, no futuro, os seus descendentes possam dizer aos nossos para não adorarem o SENHOR, Deus de Israel. 25 Eles poderiam dizer que o SENHOR separou os povos de Rúben e Gade do povo deles, dando-lhes a terra no outro lado do Jordão, não fazendo mais parte do povo do SENHOR. Assim os seus descendentes poderiam obrigar os nossos a deixarem de adorar o SENHOR.
26 —Foi por isso que decidimos construir este altar. Não para oferecer sacrifícios queimados ou qualquer outro tipo de sacrifício, 27 mas para servir de testemunho entre nós e vocês e os nossos descendentes. Testemunho de que temos o direito de vir adorar o SENHOR, na sua presença, com sacrifícios queimados, sacrifícios e ofertas de comunhão. Assim os seus descendentes não poderão dizer que os nossos não fazem parte do povo do SENHOR. 28 Também pensamos que se algum dia alguém falar isso a nós, ou aos nossos descendentes, então diremos: “Vejam a réplica do altar do SENHOR que os nossos antepassados construíram, não para oferecer sacrifícios queimados ou outras ofertas, mas como testemunho entre nós e vocês”.
29 —Nunca pensamos em nos revoltar contra o SENHOR ou em deixar o SENHOR, construindo outro altar. Sabemos que o único altar onde devem ser oferecidos sacrifícios queimados, ofertas de cereais ou ofertas de comunhão é no altar que está diante da Tenda do Encontro. Esse é o altar do SENHOR, o nosso Deus.
30 Quando o sacerdote Fineias e os chefes da congregação, os chefes dos clãs dos israelitas, ouviram o que disseram os homens de Rúben, de Gade e de Manassés, ficaram satisfeitos. 31 Então Fineias, filho do sacerdote Eleazar, disse aos rubenitas, aos gaditas e aos manasseítas:
—Agora sabemos que o SENHOR está conosco e que vocês não desobedeceram ao SENHOR. Por isso o povo de Israel não será castigado pelo SENHOR.
32 Então Fineias, filho do sacerdote Eleazar, e os chefes partiram do encontro com os homens de Rúben e de Gade em Gileade, e foram para Canaã para informarem os israelitas sobre o que tinha acontecido. 33 Todos ficaram satisfeitos com a informação e agradeceram a Deus. Depois disso, não pensaram mais em atacar as tribos de Rúben e Gade, nem em destruir as suas terras.
34 Os rubenitas e os gaditas deram o nome ao altar de Testemunho, porque diziam:
—É um testemunho entre nós de que só o SENHOR é Deus.
