18 以色列全体会众聚集在示罗，把会幕竖立在那里，因为那地在他们面前被征服了。 2 以色列人其余的七个支派还没有得着产业。 3 约书亚对以色列人说：“耶和华你们列祖的 神赐给你们的地，你们迟迟不去占领，要到几时呢？ 4 你们每支派要选出三个人，我要派他们去；他们要起程走遍那地，把各支派的产业描绘下来，然后回到我这里。 5 他们要把地业分作七份，犹大留在南方他们的境界内；约瑟家留在北方他们的境界内。 6 你们要把地划分七份，然后把图样拿给我；我要在这里，在耶和华我们的 神面前，为你们抽签。 7 利未人在你们中间没有业分，因为耶和华祭司的职分就是他们的产业。迦得支派、流本支派和玛拿西半个支派，已经在约旦河东得了产业，就是耶和华的仆人摩西分给他们的。”

18 Als das Land erobert war, versammelte sich die ganze Gemeinschaft der Israeliten in Silo und errichtete dort das heilige Zelt, in dem Gott ihnen begegnen wollte.
2 Sieben Stämme hatten sich noch kein eigenes Gebiet zuteilen lassen. 3 Josua ermahnte sie: »Wie lange wollt ihr noch so träge sein? Wann endlich werdet ihr das Land in Besitz nehmen, das euch der Herr, der Gott eurer Väter, gegeben hat? 4 Wählt drei Männer aus jedem Stamm! In meinem Auftrag sollen sie im Land umherziehen, die Städte und Gebiete in Listen eintragen und dann wieder zu mir kommen. 5 Sie sollen das Land in sieben Abschnitte aufteilen, dabei aber die Grenzen von Juda im Süden und von Josef im Norden unverletzt lassen. 6 Sie schreiben auf, wo die Grenzen der sieben neuen Stammesgebiete verlaufen sollen, und bringen mir die Verzeichnisse. Dann werde ich hier in der Gegenwart des Herrn, unseres Gottes, das Los werfen und euch das Land zuteilen. 7 Nur die Leviten bleiben ohne Gebiet. Dafür dürfen sie Priester des Herrn sein. Auch die Stämme Gad und Ruben und der halbe Stamm Manasse bekommen nichts mehr zugeteilt, denn sie haben bereits östlich des Jordan Land erhalten. Mose, der Diener des Herrn, hat es ihnen gegeben.«
8 Die Männer, die man ausgesucht hatte, machten sich zum Aufbruch fertig. Josua befahl ihnen: »Geht durch das ganze Land und schreibt alle Städte auf! Wenn ihr fertig seid, bringt eure Verzeichnisse zu mir. Ich werde dann hier in Silo vor dem Herrn das Los für euch werfen.« 9 Die Männer brachen auf, durchzogen das Land und fertigten eine Liste aller Städte an. Sie teilten das Land in sieben Gebiete auf und verzeichneten alles auf einer Schriftrolle, die sie Josua im Lager bei Silo übergaben. 10 Dort warf Josua in der Gegenwart des Herrn das Los und teilte den restlichen sieben Stämmen und ihren Sippen die Gebiete zu.
Das Gebiet des Stammes Benjamin
11 Das erste Los fiel auf den Stamm Benjamin. Er erhielt für seine Sippen ein Gebiet zwischen den Stämmen Juda und Josef. 12 Seine Nordgrenze begann am Jordan, führte zum Höhenzug nördlich von Jericho hinauf und in westlicher Richtung durch die Berge bis zur Steppe von Bet-Awen. 13 Von dort ging sie nach Lus, dem heutigen Bethel, auf dem Höhenzug südlich an der Stadt vorbei, nach Atrot-Addar hinab und bis zu dem Hügel, der südlich des unteren Bet-Horon liegt. 14 Dort wandte sie sich nach Süden und führte als Westgrenze bis nach Kirjat-Baal, dem heutigen Kirjat-Jearim, das zu Juda gehörte. 15 Die Südgrenze verlief vom westlichen Stadtrand Kirjat-Jearims bis zur Quelle Neftoach. 16 Dann führte sie zum Fuß des Berges hinab, der westlich vom Hinnomtal und nördlich der Refaïm-Ebene liegt. Sie durchquerte das Hinnomtal südlich der Jebusiterstadt und erreichte die Quelle Rogel. 17 Dort wandte sie sich nördlich zur Quelle Schemesch, weiter nach Gelilot gegenüber dem Adummimpass und hinab zum Stein von Bohan, dem Rubeniter. 18 Sie verlief nördlich über den Bergrücken am Rand der Jordan-Ebene, führte dann hinab durch die Ebene 19 bis zum Hügel bei Bet-Hogla, ging nördlich daran vorbei und endete am Nordufer des Toten Meeres, wo der Jordan einmündet. 20 Die Ostgrenze bildete der Jordan. Dies war das Gebiet, das dem Stamm Benjamin und seinen Sippen gegeben wurde.
21 Folgende Städte gehörten dazu: Jericho, Bet-Hogla, Emek-Keziz, 22 Bet-Araba, Zemarajim, Bethel, 23 Awim, Para, Ofra, 24 Kefar-Ammoni, Ofni und Geba. Es waren zwölf Städte mit ihren Dörfern. 25 Dazu kamen Gibeon, Rama, Beerot, 26 Mizpe, Kefira, Moza, 27 Rekem, Jirpeel, Tarala, 28 Zela, Elef, die Jebusiterstadt – also Jerusalem –, Gibea und Kirjat-Jearim: zusammen 14 Städte mit ihren Dörfern. Diese Städte gehörten dem Stamm Benjamin und seinen Sippen.

Allotment of the Remaining Land
18 Then the whole congregation of the people of Israel assembled at (A)Shiloh and set up (B)the tent of meeting there. The land lay subdued before them.
2 There remained among the people of Israel seven tribes whose inheritance had not yet been apportioned. 3 So Joshua said to the people of Israel, (C)“How long will you put off going in to take possession of the land, which the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you? 4 Provide three men from each tribe, and I will send them out that they may set out and go up and down the land. They shall write a description of it with a view to their inheritances, and then come to me. 5 They shall divide it into seven portions. (D)Judah shall continue in his territory on the south, (E)and the house of Joseph shall continue in their territory on the north. 6 And you shall describe the land in seven divisions and bring the description here to me. (F)And I will cast lots for you here before the Lord our God. 7 (G)The Levites have no portion among you, for the priesthood of the Lord is their heritage. (H)And Gad and Reuben and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan eastward, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave them.”
8 So the men arose and went, and Joshua charged those who went to write the description of the land, saying, “Go up and down in the land and write a description and return to me. And I will cast lots for you here before the Lord in Shiloh.” 9 So the men went and passed up and down in the land and wrote in a book a description of it by towns in seven divisions. Then they came to Joshua to the camp at Shiloh, 10 and Joshua (I)cast lots for them in Shiloh before the Lord. And there Joshua apportioned the land to the people of Israel, (J)to each his portion.
The Inheritance for Benjamin
11 The lot of the tribe of the people of Benjamin according to its clans came up, and the territory allotted to it fell between the people of Judah and the people of Joseph. 12 (K)On the north side their boundary began at the Jordan. (L)Then the boundary goes up to the shoulder north of Jericho, then up through the hill country westward, and it ends at the wilderness of (M)Beth-aven. 13 From there the boundary passes along southward in the direction of Luz, to the shoulder of (N)Luz (that is, Bethel), then the boundary goes down to (O)Ataroth-addar, on the mountain that lies south of Lower (P)Beth-horon. 14 Then the boundary goes in another direction, turning on the (Q)western side southward from the mountain that lies to the south, opposite Beth-horon, and it ends at Kiriath-baal ((R)that is, Kiriath-jearim), a city belonging to the people of Judah. This forms the western side. 15 And the southern side begins at the outskirts of Kiriath-jearim. And the boundary goes from there to Ephron,[a] (S)to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah. 16 Then the boundary goes down to the border of the mountain that overlooks (T)the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, which is at the north end of the Valley of (U)Rephaim. And it then goes down the (V)Valley of Hinnom, south of the shoulder of the Jebusites, and downward to (W)En-rogel. 17 Then it bends in a northerly direction going on to En-shemesh, and from there goes to Geliloth, which is opposite the ascent of Adummim. Then it goes down to (X)the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben, 18 and passing on to the north of (Y)the shoulder of Beth-arabah[b] it goes down to (Z)the Arabah. 19 Then the boundary passes on to the north of the shoulder of (AA)Beth-hoglah. And the boundary ends at the northern bay of (AB)the Salt Sea, at the south end of the Jordan: this is the southern border. 20 The Jordan forms its boundary on the eastern side. This is the inheritance of the people of Benjamin, according to their clans, boundary by boundary all around.
21 Now the cities of the tribe of the people of Benjamin according to their clans were (AC)Jericho, Beth-hoglah, Emek-keziz, 22 Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel, 23 Avvim, Parah, Ophrah, 24 Chephar-ammoni, Ophni, Geba—twelve cities with their villages: 25 Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth, 26 Mizpeh, Chephirah, Mozah, 27 Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah, 28 Zela, Haeleph, (AD)Jebus[c] (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah[d] and Kiriath-jearim[e]—fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the people of Benjamin according to its clans.
