John 7:16-18

¹⁶Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

¹⁷If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

¹⁸He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

It comes from the one who sent me.^(A) ¹⁷Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out^(B) whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. ¹⁸Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory,^(C) but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.
