41 Others said, “This is the Christ!”[a] But still others said, “No,[b] for the Christ doesn’t come from Galilee, does he?[c] 42 Don’t the scriptures say that the Christ is a descendant[d] of David[e] and comes from Bethlehem,[f] the village where David lived?”[g] 43 So there was a division in the crowd[h] because of Jesus.[i]
