井边谈道
4 1-3 耶稣得知法利赛人听见祂收门徒、为人施洗比约翰还多，便离开犹太回加利利。其实不是耶稣亲自施洗，而是祂的门徒施洗。 4 祂回加利利的路上必须经过撒玛利亚。 5 于是，祂来到撒玛利亚的一座城，名叫叙加，靠近雅各留给他儿子约瑟的那块地。 6 雅各井就在那个地方。耶稣走路疲乏，坐在井旁休息。那时是中午时分， 7-8 门徒都进城买食物去了。有一个撒玛利亚的妇人来打水，耶稣说：“请你给我一点水吧。”
9 撒玛利亚妇人说：“你是个犹太人，怎么向我这撒玛利亚妇人要水喝？”原来犹太人和撒玛利亚人互不往来。
10 耶稣回答说：“要是你知道上帝的恩赐，又知道向你要水喝的是谁，你早就求祂了，祂也早就把活水给你了。”
11 妇人说：“先生，你没有打水的器具，井又深，你从哪里得到活水呢？ 12 我们的祖先雅各把这口井留给我们，他自己和他的儿女、牲畜都喝这井里的水，难道你比他更伟大吗？”
13 耶稣说：“人喝了这井里的水，还会再渴， 14 但是喝了我所赐的活水，永远不会再渴。我所赐的水要在他里面成为生命的泉源，涌流不息，直到永生。”
15 妇人说：“先生，请你把这种水赐给我，我就不会再渴了，也用不着来打水了。”
16 耶稣说：“去叫你的丈夫来。”
17 妇人说：“我没有丈夫。”耶稣说：“你说的对，你没有丈夫， 18 因为你已经有过五个丈夫了，现在和你同居的也不是你的丈夫。你说的是实话。”
19 妇人说：“先生，你一定是先知。 20 我们的祖先一向都是在这山上敬拜上帝，你们却说耶路撒冷才是敬拜的地方。”
21 耶稣回答说：“妇人，你当信我。时候快到了，你们将不在这山上，也不在耶路撒冷敬拜父。 22 你们不知道你们敬拜的是谁，我们知道我们敬拜的是谁，因为救恩是从犹太人出来的。 23 时候快到了，其实就是现在，真正敬拜父的，要用心灵按真理敬拜祂，因为父寻找的正是这样敬拜祂的人。 24 上帝是灵，所以必须用心灵按真理敬拜祂。”
25 妇人说：“据我所知，那被称为基督的弥赛亚要来。祂来了，会把一切都告诉我们。”
26 耶稣说：“我这跟你说话的人就是祂。”
27 这时，门徒回来了，看见耶稣和一个妇人谈话，感到惊奇，可是没有人问：“你想要什么？”或问：“你为什么和她说话？”
28 那妇人撇下水罐，回到城里，对人们说： 29 “你们快来看啊！有一个人把我过去的事全部说了出来。莫非祂就是基督？” 30 众人听了就到城外去看耶稣。
撒种与收割
31 其间，门徒对耶稣说：“老师，请吃点东西吧。”
32 耶稣说：“我有食物吃，是你们不知道的。”
33 门徒彼此议论说：“难道有人给祂吃的了？”
34 耶稣说：“我的食物就是遵行差我来者的旨意，完成祂的工作。 35 你们不是说还有四个月才到收割的时候吗？举目向田观看吧，庄稼已经熟了，可以收割了。 36 收割的人不但可以得到报酬，而且可以为永生收获果实，叫撒种的和收割的一同快乐。 37 俗语说得好，‘那人撒种，这人收割。’ 38 我派你们去收割那些你们没有劳作的庄稼，别人劳苦，你们享受他们劳苦的成果。”
39 那城里有许多撒玛利亚人信了耶稣，因为那妇人做见证说：“祂将我以前做的一切事情都说了出来。” 40 撒玛利亚人来见耶稣，恳求祂留下来，祂就在那里住了两天。 41 因为耶稣传的道，信的人更多了。 42 他们对那妇人说：“现在我们信，不再是因为你的话，而是我们亲耳听见了，知道祂真的是救世主。”
耶稣治好大臣的儿子
43 两天后，耶稣动身前往加利利。 44 祂以前说过：“先知在他本乡不受人尊敬。” 45 然而，祂回到加利利却受到当地的人欢迎，因为他们上耶路撒冷过节时，看见了祂所做的一切。
46 祂又到了加利利的迦拿，就是祂从前把水变成酒的地方。有一个大臣的儿子在迦百农患了病。 47 大臣听说耶稣从犹太来到加利利，立刻赶来见祂，求祂去医治他病危的儿子。
48 耶稣对他说：“你们不看见神迹奇事，总不相信。”
49 大臣说：“先生，趁我的孩子还没死，求你赶快去！”
50 耶稣说：“回去吧，你的儿子好了。”他相信耶稣的话，就回去了。
51 他途中遇见奴仆来报信说他儿子好了， 52 就问什么时候好的。仆人说：“昨天下午一点钟，烧就退了。”
53 他想起正是那时候耶稣对他说：“你的儿子好了！”他和全家都信了。
54 这是耶稣从犹太回到加利利后所行的第二个神迹。

4 ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਕਿ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਵੱਧ ਚੇਲੇ ਬਣ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। 2 (ਭਾਵੇਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਖੁਦ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਯਿਸੂ ਇਹ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ।) 3 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੜ ਗਲੀਲ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। 4 ਗਲੀਲ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲੱਗਿਆਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
5 ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਿਸੂ ਸੁਖਾਰ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ। ਇਹ ਨਗਰ ਉਸ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। 6 ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦਾ ਖੂਹ ਉੱਥੇ ਸੀ। ਯਿਸੂ ਆਪਣੀ ਲੰਮੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਥੱਕ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਖੂਹ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ। ਲਗਭਗ ਦੁਪਿਹਰ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਸੀ। 7 ਇੱਕ ਸਾਮਰੀ ਔਰਤ ਖੂਹ ਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਈ। ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਥੋੜਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਣ ਲਈ ਦੇ।” 8 ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਉਦੋਂ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਨਗਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੁਝ ਭੋਜਨ ਖਰੀਦਣ ਗਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
9 ਉਸ ਸਾਮਰੀ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਵਿਸਮਤ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਪੀਣ ਲਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਮੰਗ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਮਰੀ।” ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਮਿੱਤਰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
10 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਕੌਣ ਹਾਂ। ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਜਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ।”
11 ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਾਨ ਜੀ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਅਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਜਲ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ? ਖੂਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਪਾਣੀ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਭਾਂਡਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। 12 ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਪੂਰਵਜ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਧ ਮਹਾਨ ਹੋ। ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਖੂਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇਸੇ ਖੂਹ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਤਾ।”
13 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਖੂਹ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਪਿਆਸਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। 14 ਪਰ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਪਿਆਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸਦੀ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਚਸ਼ਮਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”
15 ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਾਨ ਜੀ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਿਓ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਪਿਆਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਾਂਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਖੂਹ ਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਭਰਨ ਲਈ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।”
16 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਸੱਦ ਲਿਆ।”
17 ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਮੇਰਾ ਪਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।” ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। 18 ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੰਜ ਪਤੀ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੁਣ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਏਂ ਉਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ।”
19 ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਾਨ ਜੀ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਨਬੀ ਹੋ। 20 ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦੇ ਇਸ ਪਰਬਤ ਤੇ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਇਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।”
21 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਔਰਤ, ਮੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰ! ਵਕਤ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਜਾਂ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਪਰਬਤ ਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। 22 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਮਰੀ ਲੋਕ ਉਸਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਖੁਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ। ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। 23 ਉਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਉਪਾਸੱਕ ਆਤਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਉਹ ਸਮਾਂ ਆਣ ਪੁੱਜਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਉਪਾਸੱਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। 24 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਚਿਆਈ ਨਾਲ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।”
25 ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮਸੀਹਾ ਅਖਵਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਸੀਹ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਭ ਕਾਸੇ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕਰੇਗਾ।”
26 ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ, ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮਸੀਹਾ ਹੀ ਹਾਂ।”
27 ਐਨ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਨਗਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਤ ਆਏ ਉਹ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਕੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ?” “ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਉਂ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ?”
28 ਉਹ ਔਰਤ ਆਪਣਾ ਘੜਾ ਉੱਥੇ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਨਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ। 29 “ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਦੱਸਿਆ, ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਆਓ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰੋ। ਕੀ ਉਹ ਸੰਭਾਵਿਤ ਹੀ ਮਸੀਹਾ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ?” 30 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਗਏ।
31 ਇੰਨੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, “ਗੁਰੂ, ਭੋਜਨ ਖਾ ਲਓ।”
32 ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਭੋਜਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਤਾ।”
33 ਤਾਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ?”
34 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੇਰਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਕਾਰਜ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਹੈ। 35 ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੁਝ ਬੀਜਦੇ ਹੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਇਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ, ‘ਸਾਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਵੱਢਣ ਲਈ ਅਜੇ ਹੋਰ ਚਾਰ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਉਡੀਕਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ।’ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਖੋਲੋ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੋ, ਉਹ ਪੈਲੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਵਾਢੀ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਨ। 36 ਜੋ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਵੱਢਦਾ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਜਦੂਰੀ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਲਈ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਬੀਜਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਜੋ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਦੀ ਵਾਢੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। 37 ਇਹ ਕਹਾਵਤ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ, ਇੱਕ ਬੀਜਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਪਰ ਦੂਜਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਫਸਲ ਦੀ ਵਾਢੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।’ 38 ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਦਾ ਫ਼ਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, ਹੋਰਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਲਾਭ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ।”
39 ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ, “ਉਸਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।” 40 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਠਹਿਰਣ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਥੇ ਦੋ ਦਿਨ ਠਹਿਰਿਆ। 41 ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਹੋਰ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।
42 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ, ਸਗੋਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਖੁਦ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੁਣੇ ਹਨ। ਹੁਣ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਗਏ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਮੁੱਚ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਮੁਕਤੀਦਾਤਾ ਹੈ।”

43 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਬਾਦ, ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਵਿਦਾ ਹੋਕੇ ਗਲੀਲ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। 44 (ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਨਬੀ ਦਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ।) 45 ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਗਲੀਲ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੇਖ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਤੇ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਤੇ ਗਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
46 ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਗਲੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ। ਕਾਨਾ ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਅ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਬਦੀਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਕਫ਼ਰਨਾਹੂਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਸੀ। 47 ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ ਤੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਗਲੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ। ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਕਾਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਫ਼ਰਨਾਹੂਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਦੇਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਸਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮਰਨ ਲਾਗੇ ਸੀ। 48 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਰਿਸ਼ਮੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਚੰਭੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖੋਂਗੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ।”
49 ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਾਨ ਜੀ, ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਚਰਨ ਪਾਓ।”
50 ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਜਾ, ਤੇਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜੀਵੇਗਾ।”
ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ। 51 ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਘਰ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੇਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।”
52 ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਮੇਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਿਸ ਵਕਤ ਠੀਕ ਹੋਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ?”
ਨੌਕਰ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਇਹ ਕੱਲ ਇੱਕ ਵਜੇ ਦੇ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਸੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਬੁਖਾਰ ਲੱਥ ਗਿਆ।”
53 ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਐਨ ਇੱਕ ਵਜੇ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਸਮਾਂ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, “ਤੇਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜੀਵੇਗਾ।” ਇਉਂ ਉਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।

Jesus and the Samaritan Woman
4 Jesus[a] knew the Pharisees had heard that he was baptizing and making more disciples than John 2 (though Jesus himself didn’t baptize them—his disciples did). 3 So he left Judea and returned to Galilee.
4 He had to go through Samaria on the way. 5 Eventually he came to the Samaritan village of Sychar, near the field that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime. 7 Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.” 8 He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food.
9 The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans.[b] She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?”
10 Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”
11 “But sir, you don’t have a rope or a bucket,” she said, “and this well is very deep. Where would you get this living water? 12 And besides, do you think you’re greater than our ancestor Jacob, who gave us this well? How can you offer better water than he and his sons and his animals enjoyed?”
13 Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. 14 But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”
15 “Please, sir,” the woman said, “give me this water! Then I’ll never be thirsty again, and I won’t have to come here to get water.”
16 “Go and get your husband,” Jesus told her.
17 “I don’t have a husband,” the woman replied.
Jesus said, “You’re right! You don’t have a husband— 18 for you have had five husbands, and you aren’t even married to the man you’re living with now. You certainly spoke the truth!”
19 “Sir,” the woman said, “you must be a prophet. 20 So tell me, why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of worship, while we Samaritans claim it is here at Mount Gerizim,[c] where our ancestors worshiped?”
21 Jesus replied, “Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about him, for salvation comes through the Jews. 23 But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. 24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”
25 The woman said, “I know the Messiah is coming—the one who is called Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”
26 Then Jesus told her, “I am the Messiah!”[d]
27 Just then his disciples came back. They were shocked to find him talking to a woman, but none of them had the nerve to ask, “What do you want with her?” or “Why are you talking to her?” 28 The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, 29 “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?” 30 So the people came streaming from the village to see him.
31 Meanwhile, the disciples were urging Jesus, “Rabbi, eat something.”
32 But Jesus replied, “I have a kind of food you know nothing about.”
33 “Did someone bring him food while we were gone?” the disciples asked each other.
34 Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work. 35 You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe[e] for harvest. 36 The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike! 37 You know the saying, ‘One plants and another harvests.’ And it’s true. 38 I sent you to harvest where you didn’t plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest.”
Many Samaritans Believe
39 Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, “He told me everything I ever did!” 40 When they came out to see him, they begged him to stay in their village. So he stayed for two days, 41 long enough for many more to hear his message and believe. 42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not just because of what you told us, but because we have heard him ourselves. Now we know that he is indeed the Savior of the world.”
Jesus Heals an Official’s Son
43 At the end of the two days, Jesus went on to Galilee. 44 He himself had said that a prophet is not honored in his own hometown. 45 Yet the Galileans welcomed him, for they had been in Jerusalem at the Passover celebration and had seen everything he did there.
46 As he traveled through Galilee, he came to Cana, where he had turned the water into wine. There was a government official in nearby Capernaum whose son was very sick. 47 When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged Jesus to come to Capernaum to heal his son, who was about to die.
48 Jesus asked, “Will you never believe in me unless you see miraculous signs and wonders?”
49 The official pleaded, “Lord, please come now before my little boy dies.”
50 Then Jesus told him, “Go back home. Your son will live!” And the man believed what Jesus said and started home.
51 While the man was on his way, some of his servants met him with the news that his son was alive and well. 52 He asked them when the boy had begun to get better, and they replied, “Yesterday afternoon at one o’clock his fever suddenly disappeared!” 53 Then the father realized that that was the very time Jesus had told him, “Your son will live.” And he and his entire household believed in Jesus. 54 This was the second miraculous sign Jesus did in Galilee after coming from Judea.

Entonces Jesús, cansado del camino, se sentó[a] junto al pozo. Era cerca del mediodía. 7 Una mujer de Samaria vino* a sacar agua, y Jesús le dijo*: «Dame de beber».

13 Jesús le respondió: «Todo el que beba de esta agua volverá a tener sed, 14 pero el que beba del agua que Yo le daré, no tendrá sed jamás(Q), sino que el agua que Yo le daré se convertirá en él en una fuente de agua que brota para vida eterna(R)».
15 «Señor», le dijo* la mujer, «dame esa agua, para que no tenga sed(S) ni venga hasta aquí a sacarla». 16 Jesús le dijo*: «Ve, llama a tu marido y ven acá». 17 «No tengo marido», respondió la mujer. Jesús le dijo*: «Bien has dicho: “No tengo marido”, 18 porque cinco maridos has tenido, y el que ahora tienes no es tu marido; en eso has dicho la verdad».
19 La mujer le dijo*: «Señor, me parece que Tú eres profeta(T). 20 Nuestros padres adoraron(U) en este monte(V), y ustedes dicen que en Jerusalén(W) está el lugar donde se debe adorar».
21 Jesús le dijo*: «Mujer, cree lo que te digo: la hora viene(X)cuando ni en este monte ni en Jerusalén adorarán ustedes al Padre(Y). 22 Ustedes adoran lo que no conocen(Z); nosotros adoramos lo que conocemos, porque la salvación viene[b]de los judíos(AA). 23 Pero la hora viene, y ahora es(AB), cuando los verdaderos adoradores adorarán al Padre en espíritu(AC)y en verdad; porque ciertamente a los tales el Padre busca que lo adoren. 24 Dios es espíritu[c], y los que lo adoran deben adorar en espíritu(AD)y en verdad».
25 La mujer le dijo*: «Sé que el Mesías(AE) viene (el que es llamado Cristo(AF)); cuando Él venga nos declarará todo». 26 Jesús le dijo*: «Yo soy(AG), el que habla contigo».
27 En esto llegaron Sus discípulos(AH) y se admiraron de que hablara con una mujer, pero ninguno le preguntó: «¿Qué tratas de averiguar?» o: «¿Por qué hablas con ella?». 28 Entonces la mujer dejó su cántaro, fue a la ciudad y dijo* a los hombres: 29 «Vengan, vean a un hombre que me ha dicho todo lo que yo he hecho(AI). ¿No será este el Cristo[d](AJ)?». 30 Y salieron de la ciudad y fueron adonde Él estaba.

Pero Yo les digo: alcen sus ojos y vean los campos que ya están blancos para la siega(AO). 36 Ya el segador recibe salario(AP)y recoge fruto(AQ)para vida eterna(AR), para que el que siembra se regocije junto con el que siega. 37 Porque en este caso el dicho es verdadero: “Uno es el que siembra y otro el que siega(AS)”. 38 Yo los envié a ustedes a segar lo que no han trabajado; otros han trabajado y ustedes han entrado en su labor».
39 Y de aquella ciudad(AT), muchos de los samaritanos creyeron en Él por la palabra de la mujer que daba testimonio, diciendo: «Él me dijo todo lo que yo he hecho(AU)». 40 De modo que cuando los samaritanos vinieron, rogaban a Jesús que se quedara con ellos; y Él se quedó allí dos días. 41 Muchos más creyeron por Su palabra, 42 y decían a la mujer: «Ya no creemos por lo que tú has dicho, porque nosotros mismos le hemos oído, y sabemos que Este es en verdad el Salvador del mundo(AV)».
43 Después de los dos días(AW), Jesús salió de allí para Galilea. 44 Porque Jesús mismo dio testimonio de que a un profeta no se le honra en su propia tierra(AX). 45 Así que cuando llegó a Galilea, los galileos lo recibieron, pues habían visto todo lo que Él hizo en Jerusalén durante la fiesta(AY); porque ellos también habían ido a la fiesta.

46 Entonces vino otra vez Jesús a Caná de Galilea(AZ), donde había convertido el agua en vino(BA). Y había allí cierto oficial del rey cuyo hijo estaba enfermo en Capernaúm(BB). 47 Cuando él oyó que Jesús había venido de Judea a Galilea(BC), fue a Su encuentro y le suplicaba que bajara y sanara a su hijo, porque estaba al borde de la muerte. 48 Jesús entonces le dijo: «Si ustedes no ven señales y prodigios(BD), no creerán». 49 El oficial del rey le dijo*: «Señor, baja antes de que mi hijo muera». 50 «Puedes irte, tu hijo vive», le dijo* Jesús. Y el hombre creyó la palabra que Jesús le dijo, y se fue(BE). 51 Y mientras bajaba a su casa, sus siervos le salieron al encuentro y le dijeron que su hijo[f] vivía. 52 Entonces les preguntó a qué hora había empezado a mejorar. Y le respondieron: «Ayer a la una de la tarde[g] se le quitó[h] la fiebre».
53 El padre entonces se dio cuenta que fue a la hora en que Jesús le dijo: «Tu hijo vive». Y creyó él con toda su casa(BF). 54 Esta[i] fue la segunda señal[j](BG) que Jesús hizo cuando fue de Judea a Galilea(BH).
