2 Tre giorni dopo, si fecero delle nozze in Cana di Galilea, e la madre di Gesú si trovava là.
2 Or anche Gesú fu invitato alle nozze con i suoi discepoli.
3 Essendo venuto a mancare il vino, la madre di Gesú gli disse: «Non hanno piú vino».
4 Gesú le disse: «Che cosa c'è tra te e me o donna? L'ora mia non è ancora venuta»,
5 Sua madre disse ai servi: «Fate tutto quello che egli vi dirà».
6 Or c'erano là sei recipienti di pietra, usati per la purificazione dei Giudei, che contenevano due o tre misure ciascuno.
7 Gesú disse loro: «Riempite d'acqua i recipienti». Ed essi li riempirono fino all'orlo.
8 Poi disse loro: «Ora attingete e portatene al maestro della festa». Ed essi gliene portarono.
9 E come il maestro della festa assaggiò l'acqua mutata in vino (or egli non sapeva da dove venisse quel vino, ma ben lo sapevano i servi che avevano attinto l'acqua), il maestro della festa chiamò lo sposo,
10 e gli disse: «Ogni uomo presenta all'inizio il vino migliore e, dopo che gli invitati hanno copiosamente bevuto, il meno buono; tu, invece, hai conservato il buon vino fino ad ora».
11 Gesú fece questo inizio dei segni in Cana di Galilea e manifestò la sua gloria, e i suoi discepoli credettero in lui.
12 Dopo questo, egli discese a Capernaum con sua madre, i suoi fratelli e i suoi discepoli; ed essi rimasero lí pochi giorni.
13 Or la Pasqua dei Giudei era vicina, e Gesú salí a Gerusalemme.
14 E trovò nel tempio venditori di buoi, di pecore, di colombi, e i cambiamonete seduti;
15 fatta quindi una frusta di cordicelle, li scacciò tutti fuori del tempio insieme con i buoi e le pecore, e sparpagliò il denaro dei cambiamonete e ne rovesciò le tavole,
16 e ai venditori di colombi disse: «Portate via da qui queste cose; non fate della casa del Padre mio una casa di mercato».
17 Cosí i suoi discepoli si ricordarono che stava scritto: «Lo zelo della tua casa mi ha divorato».
18 Allora i Giudei risposero e gli dissero: «Quale segno ci mostri per fare queste cose?».
19 Gesú rispose e disse loro: «Distruggete questo tempio e in tre giorni io lo ricostruirò».
20 Allora i Giudei dissero: «Ci son voluti quarantasei anni per edificare questo tempio, e tu lo ricostruiresti in tre giorni?».
21 Ma egli parlava del tempio del suo corpo.
22 Quando poi egli fu risuscitato dai morti, i suoi discepoli si ricordarono che egli aveva loro detto questo e credettero alla Scrittura e alle parole che Gesú aveva detto.
23 Ora, mentre egli si trovava in Gerusalemme alla festa della Pasqua, molti credettero nel suo nome vedendo i segni che faceva,
24 ma Gesú non si fidava di loro, perché li conosceva tutti,
25 e perché non aveva bisogno che alcuno gli testimoniasse dell'uomo, perché egli conosceva ciò che vi era nell'uomo. Gesú ammaestra Nicodemo sulla nuova nascita

Jesus förvandlar vatten till vin
2 På tredje dagen[a] hölls ett bröllop i Kana i Galileen, och Jesus mor var där. 2 Jesus och hans lärjungar var också inbjudna dit. 3 Vinet tog slut, och Jesus mor sa då till honom: ”De har inget vin.”
4 ”Lämna mig ifred, kvinna”, svarade han. ”Min stund har inte kommit än.”
5 Men hans mor sa till tjänarna: ”Gör precis som han säger.”
6 Där fanns sex stora stenkrukor för de judiska reningsceremonierna. Krukorna rymde omkring hundra liter var. 7 Jesus sa nu till dem: ”Fyll krukorna med vatten”, och när alla krukorna var helt fulla, 8 sa han: ”Ös upp och ge det till bröllopsvärden.” Och de gjorde så.
9 Värden smakade på vattnet, som nu hade förvandlats till vin. Men eftersom han inte visste varifrån det kom – bara tjänarna som hade öst upp vattnet kände till det – kallade han på brudgummen och sa: 10 ”Alla bjuder ju först på det utsökta vinet och på sämre vin när gästerna börjar bli berusade. Men du har sparat det bästa till sist!”
11 Genom detta sitt första tecken i Kana i Galileen visade Jesus sin härlighet, och hans lärjungar trodde på honom.
12 Därefter gick Jesus ner till Kafarnaum tillsammans med sin mor, sina bröder och sina lärjungar, och de stannade där under några dagar.
Jesus rensar templet
(Matt 21:12-13; Mark 11:15-17; Luk 19:45-46)
13 När påskhögtiden[b] närmade sig gick Jesus till Jerusalem. 14 I templet fann han dem som sålde oxar, får och duvor, och dem som satt och växlade pengar.[c] 15 Jesus gjorde sig en piska av några repstumpar och drev ut allihop från tempelområdet tillsammans med fåren och oxarna. Han slog ut myntväxlarnas pengar och välte deras bord, 16 och till dem som sålde duvor sa han: ”Ta bort allt detta härifrån! Gör inte min Faders hus till en marknadsplats!”
17 Då kom hans lärjungar ihåg att det stod skrivet: ”Min iver för ditt tempel förtär mig.”[d]
18 Men judarna sa till honom: ”Vad kan du visa oss för tecken, när du nu gör så här?”
19 Jesus svarade: ”Riv ner det här templet, så ska jag resa upp det igen på tre dagar.”
20 Judarna sa: ”Detta tempelbygge har pågått i fyrtiosex år, och du menar att du kan resa upp det på tre dagar!” 21 Men det tempel Jesus talade om var hans egen kropp. 22 När han sedan uppstod från de döda kom hans lärjungar ihåg att han hade sagt detta, och de trodde på Skriften och på det ord Jesus själv hade talat.
23 Tack vare de tecken han gjorde i Jerusalem under påskhögtiden började många tro på hans namn. 24 Men Jesus litade inte på någon, för han kände alla. 25 Han behövde inte någons vittnesbörd om människan, för han visste vad som fanns i människan.

Jesus Changes Water Into Wine
2 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee.(A) Jesus’ mother(B) was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”
4 “Woman,[a](C) why do you involve me?”(D) Jesus replied. “My hour(E) has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”(F)
6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing,(G) each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.[b]
7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.
8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”
They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine.(H) He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”
11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs(I) through which he revealed his glory;(J) and his disciples believed in him.(K)
12 After this he went down to Capernaum(L) with his mother(M) and brothers(N) and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days.
Jesus Clears the Temple Courts(O)
13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover,(P) Jesus went up to Jerusalem.(Q) 14 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves,(R) and others sitting at tables exchanging money.(S) 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16 To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house(T) into a market!” 17 His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.”[c](U)
18 The Jews(V) then responded to him, “What sign(W) can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?”(X)
19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”(Y)
20 They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” 21 But the temple he had spoken of was his body.(Z) 22 After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said.(AA) Then they believed the scripture(AB) and the words that Jesus had spoken.
23 Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival,(AC) many people saw the signs(AD) he was performing and believed(AE) in his name.[d] 24 But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. 25 He did not need any testimony about mankind,(AF) for he knew what was in each person.(AG)
