耶穌為門徒洗腳
13 逾越節以前，耶穌知道自己離世歸父的時候到了。他一向愛世間屬自己的人，就愛他們到底。 2 晚餐的時候，魔鬼已把出賣耶穌的意思放在加略人西門的兒子猶大心裏。 3 耶穌知道父已把萬有交在他手裏，且知道自己是從 神出來的，又要回到 神那裏去， 4 就離席站起來，脫了衣服，拿一條手巾束腰， 5 隨後把水倒在盆裏，開始洗門徒的腳，並用束腰的手巾擦乾。 6 到了西門‧彼得跟前，彼得對他說：「主啊，你洗我的腳嗎？」 7 耶穌回答他說：「我所做的，你現在不知道，但以後會明白。」 8 彼得對他說：「你絕對不可以洗我的腳！」耶穌回答他：「我若不洗你，你就與我無份了。」 9 西門‧彼得對他說：「主啊，不僅是我的腳，連手和頭也要洗！」 10 耶穌對他說：「凡洗過澡的人不需要再洗，只要把腳一洗，全身就乾淨了。你們是乾淨的，然而不都是乾淨的。」 11 耶穌已知道要出賣他的是誰，因此說「你們不都是乾淨的」。
12 耶穌洗完了他們的腳，就穿上衣服，又坐下，對他們說：「我為你們所做的，你們明白嗎？ 13 你們稱呼我老師，稱呼我主，你們說的不錯，我本來就是。 14 我是你們的主，你們的老師，尚且洗你們的腳，你們也應當彼此洗腳。 15 我給你們作了榜樣，為要你們照着我為你們所做的去做。 16 我實實在在地告訴你們，僕人不大於主人；奉差的人也不大於差他的人。 17 你們既知道這些事，若是去實行就有福了。 18 我不是指着你們眾人說的，我知道我所揀選的是誰；但是要應驗經上的話：『吃我飯的人[a]用腳踢我。』 19 事情還沒有發生，我現在先告訴你們，讓你們到事情發生的時候好信我就是那位。 20 我實實在在地告訴你們，接納我所差遣的就是接納我；接納我的就是接納差遣我的那位。」
耶穌預言將被出賣(A)
21 耶穌說了這些話，心裏憂愁，於是明確地說：「我實實在在地告訴你們，你們中間有一個人要出賣我。」 22 門徒彼此相看，猜不出他說的是誰。 23 門徒中有一個人，是耶穌所愛的，側身挨近耶穌的胸懷。 24 西門‧彼得就對這個人示意，要問耶穌是指着誰說的。 25 於是那人緊靠着耶穌的胸膛，問他：「主啊，是誰呢？」 26 耶穌回答：「我蘸一點餅給誰，就是誰。」耶穌就蘸了一點餅，遞給加略人西門的兒子猶大。 27 他接[b]了那餅以後，撒但就進入他的心。於是耶穌對他說：「你要做的，快做吧！」 28 同席的人沒有一個知道耶穌為甚麼對他說這話。 29 有人因猶大管錢囊，以為耶穌是對他說「你去買我們過節所需要的東西」，或是叫他拿些甚麼給窮人。 30 猶大受[c]了那點餅以後立刻出去。那時候是夜間了。
新的命令
31 猶大出去後，耶穌說：「如今人子得了榮耀， 神在人子身上也得了榮耀。 32 如果 神因人子得了榮耀[d]， 神也要因自己榮耀人子，並且要立刻榮耀他。 33 孩子們！我與你們同在的時候不多了；你們會找我，但我所去的地方，你們不能去。這話我曾對猶太人說過，現在也照樣對你們說。 34 我賜給你們一條新命令，乃是叫你們彼此相愛；我怎樣愛你們，你們也要怎樣彼此相愛。 35 你們若彼此相愛，眾人因此就認出你們是我的門徒了。」
預言彼得不認主(B)
36 西門‧彼得問耶穌：「主啊，你去哪裏？」耶穌回答：「我所去的地方，你現在不能跟我去，以後卻要跟我去。」 37 彼得對他說：「主啊，為甚麼我現在不能跟你去？我願意為你捨命。」 38 耶穌回答：「你願意為我捨命嗎？我實實在在地告訴你，雞叫以前，你要三次不認我。」

Jesús lava los pies de sus discípulos
13 Antes de la fiesta de la pascua, sabiendo Jesús que su hora había llegado para que pasase de este mundo al Padre, como había amado a los suyos que estaban en el mundo, los amó hasta el fin. 2 Y cuando cenaban, como el diablo ya había puesto en el corazón de Judas Iscariote, hijo de Simón, que le entregase, 3 sabiendo Jesús que el Padre le había dado todas las cosas en las manos, y que había salido de Dios, y a Dios iba, 4 se levantó de la cena, y se quitó su manto, y tomando una toalla, se la ciñó. 5 Luego puso agua en un lebrillo, y comenzó a lavar los pies de los discípulos, y a enjugarlos con la toalla con que estaba ceñido. 6 Entonces vino a Simón Pedro; y Pedro le dijo: Señor, ¿tú me lavas los pies? 7 Respondió Jesús y le dijo: Lo que yo hago, tú no lo comprendes ahora; mas lo entenderás después. 8 Pedro le dijo: No me lavarás los pies jamás. Jesús le respondió: Si no te lavare, no tendrás parte conmigo. 9 Le dijo Simón Pedro: Señor, no solo mis pies, sino también las manos y la cabeza. 10 Jesús le dijo: El que está lavado, no necesita sino lavarse los pies, pues está todo limpio; y vosotros limpios estáis, aunque no todos. 11 Porque sabía quién le iba a entregar; por eso dijo: No estáis limpios todos.
12 Así que, después que les hubo lavado los pies, tomó su manto, volvió a la mesa, y les dijo: ¿Sabéis lo que os he hecho? 13 Vosotros me llamáis Maestro, y Señor; y decís bien, porque lo soy. 14 Pues si yo, el Señor y el Maestro, he lavado vuestros pies, vosotros también debéis lavaros los pies los unos a los otros. 15 Porque ejemplo os he dado, para que como yo os he hecho, vosotros también hagáis.(A) 16 De cierto, de cierto os digo: El siervo no es mayor que su señor,(B) ni el enviado es mayor que el que le envió. 17 Si sabéis estas cosas, bienaventurados seréis si las hiciereis. 18 No hablo de todos vosotros; yo sé a quienes he elegido; mas para que se cumpla la Escritura: El que come pan conmigo, levantó contra mí su calcañar.(C) 19 Desde ahora os lo digo antes que suceda, para que cuando suceda, creáis que yo soy. 20 De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que recibe al que yo enviare, me recibe a mí; y el que me recibe a mí, recibe al que me envió.(D)
Jesús anuncia la traición de Judas

21 Habiendo dicho Jesús esto, se conmovió en espíritu, y declaró y dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo, que uno de vosotros me va a entregar. 22 Entonces los discípulos se miraban unos a otros, dudando de quién hablaba. 23 Y uno de sus discípulos, al cual Jesús amaba, estaba recostado al lado de Jesús. 24 A este, pues, hizo señas Simón Pedro, para que preguntase quién era aquel de quien hablaba. 25 Él entonces, recostado cerca del pecho de Jesús, le dijo: Señor, ¿quién es? 26 Respondió Jesús: A quien yo diere el pan mojado, aquel es. Y mojando el pan, lo dio a Judas Iscariote hijo de Simón. 27 Y después del bocado, Satanás entró en él. Entonces Jesús le dijo: Lo que vas a hacer, hazlo más pronto. 28 Pero ninguno de los que estaban a la mesa entendió por qué le dijo esto. 29 Porque algunos pensaban, puesto que Judas tenía la bolsa, que Jesús le decía: Compra lo que necesitamos para la fiesta; o que diese algo a los pobres. 30 Cuando él, pues, hubo tomado el bocado, luego salió; y era ya de noche.
El nuevo mandamiento
31 Entonces, cuando hubo salido, dijo Jesús: Ahora es glorificado el Hijo del Hombre, y Dios es glorificado en él. 32 Si Dios es glorificado en él, Dios también le glorificará en sí mismo, y en seguida le glorificará. 33 Hijitos, aún estaré con vosotros un poco. Me buscaréis; pero como dije a los judíos, así os digo ahora a vosotros: A donde yo voy, vosotros no podéis ir.(E) 34 Un mandamiento nuevo os doy: Que os améis unos a otros;(F) como yo os he amado, que también os améis unos a otros. 35 En esto conocerán todos que sois mis discípulos, si tuviereis amor los unos con los otros.
Jesús anuncia la negación de Pedro

36 Le dijo Simón Pedro: Señor, ¿a dónde vas? Jesús le respondió: A donde yo voy, no me puedes seguir ahora; mas me seguirás después. 37 Le dijo Pedro: Señor, ¿por qué no te puedo seguir ahora? Mi vida pondré por ti. 38 Jesús le respondió: ¿Tu vida pondrás por mí? De cierto, de cierto te digo: No cantará el gallo, sin que me hayas negado tres veces.

Jesus Washes His Disciples’ Feet
13 It was just before the Passover Festival.(A) Jesus knew that the hour had come(B) for him to leave this world and go to the Father.(C) Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
2 The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus.(D) 3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power,(E) and that he had come from God(F) and was returning to God; 4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist.(G) 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet,(H) drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”
7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”(I)
8 “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”
Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”
9 “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”
10 Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean,(J) though not every one of you.”(K) 11 For he knew who was going to betray him,(L) and that was why he said not every one was clean.
12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call me ‘Teacher’(M) and ‘Lord,’(N) and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.(O) 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.(P) 16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master,(Q) nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.(R)
Jesus Predicts His Betrayal
18 “I am not referring to all of you;(S) I know those I have chosen.(T) But this is to fulfill this passage of Scripture:(U) ‘He who shared my bread(V) has turned[a](W) against me.’[b](X)
19 “I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe(Y) that I am who I am.(Z) 20 Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.”(AA)
21 After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit(AB) and testified, “Very truly I tell you, one of you is going to betray me.”(AC)
22 His disciples stared at one another, at a loss to know which of them he meant. 23 One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved,(AD) was reclining next to him. 24 Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, “Ask him which one he means.”
25 Leaning back against Jesus, he asked him, “Lord, who is it?”(AE)
26 Jesus answered, “It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish.” Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas,(AF) the son of Simon Iscariot. 27 As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him.(AG)
So Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.” 28 But no one at the meal understood why Jesus said this to him. 29 Since Judas had charge of the money,(AH) some thought Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the festival,(AI) or to give something to the poor.(AJ) 30 As soon as Judas had taken the bread, he went out. And it was night.(AK)
Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial(AL)
31 When he was gone, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man(AM) is glorified(AN) and God is glorified in him.(AO) 32 If God is glorified in him,[c] God will glorify the Son in himself,(AP) and will glorify him at once.
33 “My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.(AQ)
34 “A new command(AR) I give you: Love one another.(AS) As I have loved you, so you must love one another.(AT) 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”(AU)
36 Simon Peter asked him, “Lord, where are you going?”(AV)
Jesus replied, “Where I am going, you cannot follow now,(AW) but you will follow later.”(AX)
37 Peter asked, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”
38 Then Jesus answered, “Will you really lay down your life for me? Very truly I tell you, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times!(AY)

Jesús lava los pies a sus discípulos
13 Estaba cerca la fiesta de la Pascua. Jesús sabía que le había llegado la hora de abandonar este mundo para volver al Padre. Y, habiendo amado a los suyos que estaban en el mundo, los amó hasta el fin.[a]
2 Llegó la hora de la cena. El diablo ya había incitado a Judas Iscariote, hijo de Simón, para que traicionara a Jesús. 3 Sabía Jesús que el Padre había puesto todas las cosas bajo su dominio, y que había salido de Dios y a él volvía; 4 así que se levantó de la mesa, se quitó el manto y se ató una toalla a la cintura. 5 Luego echó agua en un recipiente y comenzó a lavarles los pies a sus discípulos y a secárselos con la toalla que llevaba en la cintura.
6 Cuando llegó a Simón Pedro, este le dijo:
―¿Y tú, Señor, me vas a lavar los pies a mí?
7 ―Ahora no entiendes lo que estoy haciendo —respondió Jesús—, pero lo entenderás más tarde.
8 ―¡No! —protestó Pedro—. ¡Jamás me lavarás los pies!
―Si no te los lavo,[b] no tendrás parte conmigo.
9 ―Entonces, Señor, ¡no solo los pies, sino también las manos y la cabeza!
10 ―El que ya se ha bañado no necesita lavarse más que los pies —le contestó Jesús—; pues ya todo su cuerpo está limpio. Y ustedes ya están limpios, aunque no todos.
11 Jesús sabía quién lo iba a traicionar, y por eso dijo que no todos estaban limpios.
12 Cuando terminó de lavarles los pies, se puso el manto y volvió a su lugar. Entonces les dijo:
―¿Entendéis lo que he hecho con vosotros? 13 Vosotros me llamáis Maestro y Señor, y decís bien, porque lo soy. 14 Pues, si yo, el Señor y el Maestro, os he lavado los pies, también vosotros debéis lavaros los pies unos a otros. 15 Os he dado ejemplo, para que hagáis lo mismo que yo he hecho con vosotros. 16 Ciertamente os aseguro que ningún siervo es más que su amo, y ningún mensajero es más que el que lo envió. 17 ¿Entendéis esto? Dichosos seréis si lo ponéis en práctica.
Jesús predice la traición de Judas
18 »No me refiero a todos vosotros; yo sé a quiénes he escogido. Pero esto es para que se cumpla la Escritura: “El que comparte el pan conmigo me ha puesto la zancadilla”.[c]
19 »Os digo esto ahora, antes de que suceda, para que cuando suceda creáis que yo soy. 20 Ciertamente os aseguro que el que recibe al que yo envío me recibe a mí, y el que me recibe a mí recibe al que me envió».
21 Dicho esto, Jesús se angustió profundamente y declaró:
―Ciertamente os aseguro que uno de vosotros me va a traicionar.
22 Los discípulos se miraban unos a otros sin saber a cuál de ellos se refería. 23 Uno de ellos, el discípulo a quien Jesús amaba, estaba a su lado. 24 Simón Pedro le hizo señas a ese discípulo y le dijo:
―Pregúntale a quién se refiere.
25 ―Señor, ¿quién es? —preguntó él, reclinándose sobre Jesús.
26 ―Aquel a quien yo le dé este pedazo de pan que voy a mojar en el plato —le contestó Jesús.
Acto seguido, mojó el pedazo de pan y se lo dio a Judas Iscariote, hijo de Simón. 27 Tan pronto como Judas tomó el pan, Satanás entró en él.
―Lo que vas a hacer, hazlo pronto —le dijo Jesús.
28 Ninguno de los que estaban a la mesa entendió por qué le dijo eso Jesús. 29 Como Judas era el encargado del dinero, algunos pensaron que Jesús le estaba diciendo que comprara lo necesario para la fiesta, o que diera algo a los pobres. 30 En cuanto Judas tomó el pan, salió de allí. Ya era de noche.
Jesús predice la negación de Pedro
31 Cuando Judas hubo salido, Jesús dijo:
―Ahora es glorificado el Hijo del hombre, y Dios es glorificado en él. 32 Si Dios es glorificado en él,[d] Dios glorificará al Hijo en sí mismo, y lo hará muy pronto.
33 »Mis queridos hijos, poco tiempo me queda para estar con vosotros. Me buscaréis, y lo que antes dije a los judíos, ahora os lo digo a vosotros: Adonde yo voy, vosotros no podéis ir.
34 »Este mandamiento nuevo os doy: que os améis los unos a los otros. Así como yo os he amado, también vosotros debéis amaros unos a otros. 35 De este modo todos sabrán que sois mis discípulos, si os amáis unos a otros».
36 ―¿Y a dónde vas, Señor? —preguntó Simón Pedro.
―Adonde yo voy, no puedes seguirme ahora, pero me seguirás más tarde.
37 ―Señor —insistió Pedro—, ¿por qué no puedo seguirte ahora? Por ti daré hasta la vida.
38 ―¿Darás tú la vida por mí? ¡De veras te aseguro que, antes de que cante el gallo, me negarás tres veces!

13 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;
3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;
4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
7 Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
9 Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.
11 For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.
12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?
13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.
19 Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.
20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.
23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.
24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake.
25 He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?
26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.
27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.
28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.
29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.
30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night.
31 Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.
32 If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.
33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
36 Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards.
37 Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.
38 Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.
