2 當我們愛神，並遵行[a]他命令的時候，從這一點就知道我們愛神的兒女了。 3 原來屬神的愛是這樣的，就是我們要遵守他的命令；而他的命令並不是沉重的， 4 因為凡是由神所生的，就勝過世界；而這勝過世界的勝利，就是我們的信仰。

2 This is how we know(A) that we love the children of God:(B) by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands.(C) And his commands are not burdensome,(D) 4 for everyone born of God(E) overcomes(F) the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
