42 約伯回答耶和華說：
2 「我知道你無所不能，
你的旨意無不成就。
3 你問，『誰用無知的話使我的旨意晦暗不明？』
誠然，我對自己所談論的事一無所知，
這些事太奇妙，我無法明白。
4 你說，『你且聽著，我要發言。
我來提問，你來回答。』
5 我從前風聞有你，
現在親眼看見你。
6 因此我厭惡自己，
在塵土和爐灰中懺悔。」

7 耶和華對約伯說完這些話後，就對提幔人以利法說：「你和你的兩個朋友令我憤怒，因為你們對我的議論不如我僕人約伯說的有理。 8 現在你們要取七頭公牛和七隻公羊，到我僕人約伯那裡，為自己獻上燔祭，因為你們對我的議論不如我僕人約伯說的有理。我僕人約伯會為你們禱告，我會悅納他的禱告，不按你們的愚妄懲罰你們。」 9 於是，提幔人以利法、書亞人比勒達和拿瑪人瑣法遵命而行，耶和華悅納了約伯的禱告。
10 約伯為朋友們禱告後，耶和華恢復了他以前的昌盛，並且耶和華賜給他的比以前多一倍。 11 約伯的兄弟姊妹和從前的朋友都來探望他，在他家裡一同吃飯，為他遭受耶和華所降的種種災難而安撫、慰問他。他們每人送他一塊銀子和一個金環。

42 Job répondit à l'Éternel et dit:
2 Je reconnais que tu peux tout, Et que rien ne s'oppose à tes pensées.
3 Quel est celui qui a la folie d'obscurcir mes desseins? -Oui, j'ai parlé, sans les comprendre, De merveilles qui me dépassent et que je ne conçois pas.
4 Écoute-moi, et je parlerai; Je t'interrogerai, et tu m'instruiras.
5 Mon oreille avait entendu parler de toi; Mais maintenant mon oeil t'a vu.
6 C'est pourquoi je me condamne et je me repens Sur la poussière et sur la cendre.
7 Après que l'Éternel eut adressé ces paroles à Job, il dit à Éliphaz de Théman: Ma colère est enflammée contre toi et contre tes deux amis, parce que vous n'avez pas parlé de moi avec droiture comme l'a fait mon serviteur Job.
8 Prenez maintenant sept taureaux et sept béliers, allez auprès de mon serviteur Job, et offrez pour vous un holocauste. Job, mon serviteur, priera pour vous, et c'est par égard pour lui seul que je ne vous traiterai pas selon votre folie; car vous n'avez pas parlé de moi avec droiture, comme l'a fait mon serviteur Job.
9 Éliphaz de Théman, Bildad de Schuach, et Tsophar de Naama allèrent et firent comme l'Éternel leur avait dit: et l'Éternel eut égard à la prière de Job.
10 L'Éternel rétablit Job dans son premier état, quand Job eut prié pour ses amis; et l'Éternel lui accorda le double de tout ce qu'il avait possédé.
11 Les frères, les soeurs, et les anciens amis de Job vinrent tous le visiter, et ils mangèrent avec lui dans sa maison. Ils le plaignirent et le consolèrent de tous les malheurs que l'Éternel avait fait venir sur lui, et chacun lui donna un kesita et un anneau d'or.
12 Pendant ses dernières années, Job reçut de l'Éternel plus de bénédictions qu'il n'en avait reçu dans les premières. Il posséda quatorze mille brebis, six mille chameaux, mille paires de boeufs, et mille ânesses.
13 Il eut sept fils et trois filles:
14 il donna à la première le nom de Jemima, à la seconde celui de Ketsia, et à la troisième celui de Kéren Happuc.
15 Il n'y avait pas dans tout le pays d'aussi belles femmes que les filles de Job. Leur père leur accorda une part d'héritage parmi leurs frères.
16 Job vécut après cela cent quarante ans, et il vit ses fils et les fils de ses fils jusqu'à la quatrième génération.
17 Et Job mourut âgé et rassasié de jours.

6 因此我厌恶自己，

7 耶和华对约伯说了这些话以后，就对提幔人以利法说：“我要向你和你的两个朋友生气，因为你们讲论我，不如我的仆人约伯说的对。 8 现在你们要为自己取七头公牛、七只公羊，到我的仆人约伯那里去，为你们献上燔祭，我的仆人约伯就替你们祷告；我悦纳他的祷告，就不按照你们的愚昧待你们。你们讲论我，不如我的仆人约伯说的对。” 9 于是提幔人以利法、书亚人比勒达、拿玛人琐法，照着耶和华吩咐他们的去行，耶和华就悦纳约伯的祷告。

10 约伯替他的朋友祷告，耶和华就恢复约伯原来的景况，还照约伯以前所有的一切加倍赐给他。 11 约伯的众兄弟姊妹和以前认识的人都来见他，在他家里与他一同吃饭，又因耶和华降予他的一切灾祸都对他表同情，安慰他，每人送他一块银子和一个金环。 12 这样，耶和华后来赐给约伯的福比先前更多：他有一万四千只羊、六千匹骆驼、一千对牛、一千头母驴。 13 他也有七个儿子和三个女儿。 14 他给长女起名叫耶米玛，次女名叫基洗亚，三女名叫基连．哈朴。 15 在那全地中，找不到像约伯女儿那么美貌的妇女。她们的父亲在她们兄弟中间把产业分给她们。

Respuesta de Job
42 Job respondió entonces al Señor. Le dijo:
2 «Yo sé bien que tú lo puedes todo,
que no es posible frustrar ninguno de tus planes.
3 “¿Quién es este —has preguntado—,
que sin conocimiento oscurece mi consejo?”
Reconozco que he hablado de cosas
que no alcanzo a comprender,
de cosas demasiado maravillosas
que me son desconocidas.
4 »Dijiste:[a] “Ahora escúchame, yo voy a hablar;
yo te cuestionaré, y tú me responderás”.
5 De oídas había oído hablar de ti,
pero ahora te veo con mis propios ojos.
6 Por tanto, me retracto de lo que he dicho,
y me arrepiento en polvo y ceniza».
Epílogo
7 Después de haberle dicho todo esto a Job, el Señor se dirigió a Elifaz de Temán y le dijo: «Estoy muy irritado contigo y con tus dos amigos porque, a diferencia de mi siervo Job, lo que vosotros habéis dicho de mí no es verdad. 8 Tomad ahora siete toros y siete carneros, e id con mi siervo Job y ofreced un holocausto por vosotros mismos. Mi siervo Job orará por vosotros, y yo atenderé a su oración y no os haré quedar en vergüenza. Y conste que, a diferencia de mi siervo Job, lo que vosotros habéis dicho de mí no es verdad».
9 Elifaz de Temán, Bildad de Súah y Zofar de Namat fueron y cumplieron con lo que el Señor les había ordenado, y el Señor atendió a la oración de Job.
10 Después de haber orado Job por sus amigos, el Señor lo hizo prosperar de nuevo y le dio dos veces más de lo que antes tenía. 11 Todos sus hermanos y hermanas, y todos los que antes lo habían conocido, fueron a su casa y celebraron con él un banquete. Lo animaron y lo consolaron por todas las calamidades que el Señor le había enviado, y cada uno de ellos le dio una moneda de plata[b] y un anillo de oro.
12 El Señor bendijo más los últimos años de Job que los primeros, pues llegó a tener catorce mil ovejas, seis mil camellos, mil yuntas de bueyes y mil asnas. 13 Tuvo también catorce[c] hijos y tres hijas. 14 A la primera de ellas le puso por nombre Paloma, a la segunda la llamó Canela, y a la tercera, Linda.[d] 15 No había en todo el país mujeres tan bellas como las hijas de Job. Su padre les dejó una herencia, lo mismo que a sus hermanos.
16 Después de estos sucesos, Job vivió ciento cuarenta años. Llegó a ver a sus hijos, y a los hijos de sus hijos, hasta la cuarta generación. 17 Disfrutó de una larga vida y murió en plena ancianidad.

42 Then Job replied to the Lord:
2 “I know that you can do all things;(A)
no purpose of yours can be thwarted.(B)
3 You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’(C)
Surely I spoke of things I did not understand,
things too wonderful for me to know.(D)
4 “You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak;
I will question you,
and you shall answer me.’(E)
5 My ears had heard of you(F)
but now my eyes have seen you.(G)
6 Therefore I despise myself(H)
and repent(I) in dust and ashes.”(J)
Epilogue
7 After the Lord had said these things to Job(K), he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “I am angry with you and your two friends,(L) because you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.(M) 8 So now take seven bulls and seven rams(N) and go to my servant Job(O) and sacrifice a burnt offering(P) for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer(Q) and not deal with you according to your folly.(R) You have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has.”(S) 9 So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite(T) did what the Lord told them; and the Lord accepted Job’s prayer.(U)
10 After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes(V) and gave him twice as much as he had before.(W) 11 All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before(X) came and ate with him in his house. They comforted and consoled him over all the trouble the Lord had brought on him,(Y) and each one gave him a piece of silver[a] and a gold ring.
12 The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys. 13 And he also had seven sons and three daughters. 14 The first daughter he named Jemimah, the second Keziah and the third Keren-Happuch. 15 Nowhere in all the land were there found women as beautiful as Job’s daughters, and their father granted them an inheritance along with their brothers.
16 After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation. 17 And so Job died, an old man and full of years.(Z)
