約伯失去健康
2 又有一天，眾天使來朝見耶和華，撒旦也在他們當中。 2 耶和華問撒旦：「你從哪裡來？」撒旦答道：「我在地上到處遊走。」 3 耶和華問道：「你注意到我的僕人約伯了嗎？世上沒有人像他那樣純全正直，敬畏我，遠離罪惡。雖然你鼓動我無緣無故地攻擊他、毀滅他，他仍然持守自己的純正。」 4 撒旦回答說：「人會以皮換皮，為了保全生命，情願捨棄一切。 5 倘若你伸手傷害他的骨和肉，他必當面褻瀆你。」 6 耶和華說：「好吧，他在你手中，但要留他一命。」 7 於是，撒旦從耶和華面前退去，開始加害約伯，使他從頭到腳長毒瘡。 8 約伯坐在爐灰中，拿瓦片刮身體。 9 他的妻子對他說：「你還要持守自己的純正嗎？不如褻瀆上帝，死掉算了！」 10 但約伯回答說：「你說話像個愚昧的婦人。難道我們只從上帝手裡接受祝福，卻不接受災殃嗎？」約伯遭此不幸，仍毫無怨言。
約伯的三個朋友
11 約伯的三個朋友提幔人以利法、書亞人比勒達和拿瑪人瑣法聽到他的不幸遭遇，便各自從家鄉動身，相約一起來探望、安慰他。 12 他們遠遠地看見約伯，幾乎認不出是他，禁不住放聲大哭，各自撕裂外袍，揚起塵土，讓土落在頭上。 13 他們看到約伯極其痛苦，就陪著他在地上坐了七天七夜，沒有對他說一句話。

2 En otra ocasión se presentaron ante el Señor sus servidores, y también llegó Satanás. 2 Cuando el Señor lo vio, le preguntó:
«¿De dónde vienes?»
Y Satanás le contestó:
«Vengo de andar recorriendo la tierra.»
3 El Señor le preguntó:
«¿No te has fijado en mi siervo Job, que no hay nadie en la tierra que se le compare? Es un hombre de conducta intachable; no le hace mal a nadie, y es temeroso de Dios. Tú me incitaste a hacerle daño, y a que sin ningún motivo lo arruinara, y aun así él sigue siendo un hombre intachable.»
4 Pero Satanás le respondió al Señor:
«Todo es cuestión de dar y recibir. La gente es capaz de darlo todo, con tal de salvar el pellejo. 5 Pero quítale a Job tu protección, tócalo en su propio cuerpo, ¡y ya verás cómo blasfema contra ti en tu propia cara!»
6 Entonces el Señor dijo:
«Ahí está Job. Lo dejo en tus manos. Pero no le quites la vida.»
7 Satanás salió de la presencia del Señor, pero le envió a Job una sarna tan violenta que lo cubrió de pies a cabeza. 8 Era tal la comezón que Job, sentado en medio de la ceniza, se rascaba con un pedazo de teja.
9 Su esposa lo llenó de reproches y le dijo: «¿Todavía insistes en seguir siendo perfecto? ¡Maldice a Dios, y muérete!»
10 Pero Job le respondió:
«Hablas como una de tantas necias. ¿Acaso hemos de recibir de Dios sólo bendiciones, y no las calamidades?»
Y aun así, Job no pecó ni de palabra.
11 Job tenía tres amigos de lugares diferentes: Elifaz era de Temán, Bildad era de Súaj, y Sofar era de Namat. Cuando ellos se enteraron de la tragedia de su amigo, se pusieron de acuerdo para ir a visitarlo y consolarlo. 12 Cuando ya estaban cerca, como a la distancia no pudieron reconocerlo, se pusieron a llorar, rasgaron sus mantos, y en señal de dolor se echaron ceniza sobre la cabeza. 13 Luego se sentaron en el suelo junto a Job, y así estuvieron siete días con sus noches, sin que ninguno de ellos se atreviera a decirle algo, pues veían que era muy grande su dolor.

Satan Attacks Job’s Health
2 Again (A)there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the Lord. 2 And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?”
(B)Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”
3 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, (C)a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil? And still he (D)holds fast to his integrity, although you incited Me against him, (E)to [a]destroy him without cause.”
4 So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life. 5 (F)But stretch out Your hand now, and touch his (G)bone and his flesh, and he will surely [b]curse You to Your face!”
6 (H)And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, he is in your hand, but spare his life.”
7 So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord, and struck Job with painful boils (I)from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. 8 And he took for himself a potsherd with which to scrape himself (J)while he sat in the midst of the ashes.
9 Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? [c]Curse God and die!”
10 But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. (K)Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” (L)In all this Job did not (M)sin with his lips.
Job’s Three Friends
11 Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this adversity that had come upon him, each one came from his own place—Eliphaz the (N)Temanite, Bildad the (O)Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite. For they had made an appointment together to come (P)and mourn with him, and to comfort him. 12 And when they raised their eyes from afar, and did not recognize him, they lifted their voices and wept; and each one tore his robe and (Q)sprinkled dust on his head toward heaven. 13 So they sat down with him on the ground (R)seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great.

2 On another day the angels[a](A) came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them(B) to present himself before him. 2 And the Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”
Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”(C)
3 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.(D) And he still maintains his integrity,(E) though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason.”(F)
4 “Skin for skin!” Satan replied. “A man will give all he has(G) for his own life. 5 But now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones,(H) and he will surely curse you to your face.”(I)
6 The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, he is in your hands;(J) but you must spare his life.”(K)
7 So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head.(L) 8 Then Job took a piece of broken pottery and scraped himself with it as he sat among the ashes.(M)
9 His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity?(N) Curse God and die!”(O)
10 He replied, “You are talking like a foolish[b] woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?”(P)
In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.(Q)
11 When Job’s three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite,(R) Bildad the Shuhite(S) and Zophar the Naamathite,(T) heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him.(U) 12 When they saw him from a distance, they could hardly recognize him;(V) they began to weep aloud,(W) and they tore their robes(X) and sprinkled dust on their heads.(Y) 13 Then they sat on the ground(Z) with him for seven days and seven nights.(AA) No one said a word to him,(AB) because they saw how great his suffering was.
