瑣法的回答
11 拿瑪人瑣法回答說：
2 「難道滔滔不絕就無人反駁？
難道嘮嘮叨叨就證明有理？
3 你喋喋不休，人們豈能緘默不言？
你嘲笑譏諷，豈不該有人使你羞愧？
4 你自以為信仰純全，
在上帝眼中清白。
5 唯願上帝發言，
開口駁斥你，
6 告訴你智慧的奧秘，
因為真智慧深奧難懂。
要知道，上帝對你的懲罰比你該受的還輕。
7 「你能測度上帝的深奧，
探索全能者的極限嗎？
8 那可比諸天還高，你能做什麼？
那可比陰間還深，你能知道什麼？
9 那可比大地還寬廣，
比海洋還遼闊。
10 祂若來囚禁你，
開庭審判，
誰能阻攔？
11 祂洞悉詭詐之人，
看見罪惡，
豈會不理？
12 愚蠢人若能變得聰明，
野驢駒也可生成人樣。
13 「你若把心安正，
向祂舉手禱告；
14 你若除去自己的罪惡，
不容帳篷裡有任何不義，
15 就必能無愧地仰起臉，
站立得穩，無所畏懼。
16 你必忘記自己的苦楚，
它從你記憶中如流水逝去。
17 你的人生將比正午還光明，
生命中的黑暗也必像黎明。
18 你必充滿盼望，感到安穩，
你必得到保護，安然入睡。
19 你睡覺時必無人驚擾，
許多人必求你施恩。
20 但惡人必眼目失明，無路可逃，
他們的指望只有死亡。」

Zofar acusa de maldad a Job
11 Respondió Zofar naamatita, y dijo:
2 ¿Las muchas palabras no han de tener respuesta?
¿Y el hombre que habla mucho será justificado?
3 ¿Harán tus falacias callar a los hombres?
¿Harás escarnio y no habrá quien te avergüence?
4 Tú dices: Mi doctrina es pura,
Y yo soy limpio delante de tus ojos.
5 Mas ¡oh, quién diera que Dios hablara,
Y abriera sus labios contigo,
6 Y te declarara los secretos de la sabiduría,
Que son de doble valor que las riquezas!
Conocerías entonces que Dios te ha castigado menos de lo que tu iniquidad merece.
7 ¿Descubrirás tú los secretos de Dios?
¿Llegarás tú a la perfección del Todopoderoso?
8 Es más alta que los cielos; ¿qué harás?
Es más profunda que el Seol; ¿cómo la conocerás?
9 Su dimensión es más extensa que la tierra,
Y más ancha que el mar.
10 Si él pasa, y aprisiona, y llama a juicio,
¿Quién podrá contrarrestarle?
11 Porque él conoce a los hombres vanos;
Ve asimismo la iniquidad, ¿y no hará caso?
12 El hombre vano se hará entendido,
Cuando un pollino de asno montés nazca hombre.
13 Si tú dispusieres tu corazón,
Y extendieres a él tus manos;
14 Si alguna iniquidad hubiere en tu mano, y la echares de ti,
Y no consintieres que more en tu casa la injusticia,
15 Entonces levantarás tu rostro limpio de mancha,
Y serás fuerte, y nada temerás;
16 Y olvidarás tu miseria,
O te acordarás de ella como de aguas que pasaron.
17 La vida te será más clara que el mediodía;
Aunque oscureciere, será como la mañana.
18 Tendrás confianza, porque hay esperanza;
Mirarás alrededor, y dormirás seguro.
19 Te acostarás, y no habrá quien te espante;
Y muchos suplicarán tu favor.
20 Pero los ojos de los malos se consumirán,
Y no tendrán refugio;
Y su esperanza será dar su último suspiro.

11 Toda esa palabrería merece una respuesta,
pues no por hablar mucho se tiene la razón.
3 ¿Crees que con tu verborrea nos vas a hacer callar,
y que nadie es capaz de responder a tus burlas?
4 Tú dices que tu doctrina es recta,
y tú mismo te consideras puro.
5 ¡Ojalá Dios hablara para responderte!
6 Él te enseñaría los secretos de la sabiduría,
que son muy difíciles de entender.
Así verías que Dios no te ha castigado
tanto como mereces.
7 ¿Crees que puedes penetrar en los misterios de Dios
y llegar hasta lo más profundo de su ser?
8 ¿Qué puedes hacer,
si son más altos que el cielo?
¿Qué sabes tú, si son más profundos que el abismo?
9 Son más grandes que la tierra
y más anchos que el mar.
10 Si Dios viene, y arresta y llama a juicio,
¿quién habrá que se lo impida?
11 Él sabe quién es mentiroso;
él ve la maldad, ¿o crees que no se da cuenta?
12 El día que el asno salvaje deje de serlo,
ese día el necio entrará en razón.
13 Decídete a actuar con rectitud,
y dirige tus súplicas a Dios.
14 Si estás cargado de pecado, aléjalo de ti;
no des lugar en tu casa a la maldad.
15 Así podrás alzar limpia la frente,
y estarás tranquilo y sin temor;
16 echarás en el olvido tus sufrimientos;
los olvidarás como al agua que pasa.
17 Tu vida brillará más que el sol a mediodía;
tus horas más oscuras serán como el amanecer.
18 Tendrás esperanza y podrás vivir confiado;
bajo el cuidado de Dios dormirás tranquilo.
19 Nada te asustará cuando descanses.
Muchos vendrán a buscar tu favor.
20 Los malos, en cambio, buscarán ayuda en vano;
no encontrarán lugar donde refugiarse,
y la muerte será su única esperanza.

11 Then Zophar the Naamathite(A) replied:
2 “Are all these words to go unanswered?(B)
Is this talker to be vindicated?(C)
3 Will your idle talk(D) reduce others to silence?
Will no one rebuke you when you mock?(E)
4 You say to God, ‘My beliefs are flawless(F)
and I am pure(G) in your sight.’
5 Oh, how I wish that God would speak,(H)
that he would open his lips against you
6 and disclose to you the secrets of wisdom,(I)
for true wisdom has two sides.
Know this: God has even forgotten some of your sin.(J)
7 “Can you fathom(K) the mysteries of God?
Can you probe the limits of the Almighty?
8 They are higher(L) than the heavens(M) above—what can you do?
They are deeper than the depths below(N)—what can you know?(O)
9 Their measure(P) is longer than the earth
and wider than the sea.(Q)
10 “If he comes along and confines you in prison
and convenes a court, who can oppose him?(R)
11 Surely he recognizes deceivers;
and when he sees evil, does he not take note?(S)
12 But the witless can no more become wise
than a wild donkey’s colt(T) can be born human.[a](U)
13 “Yet if you devote your heart(V) to him
and stretch out your hands(W) to him,(X)
14 if you put away(Y) the sin that is in your hand
and allow no evil(Z) to dwell in your tent,(AA)
15 then, free of fault, you will lift up your face;(AB)
you will stand firm(AC) and without fear.(AD)
16 You will surely forget your trouble,(AE)
recalling it only as waters gone by.(AF)
17 Life will be brighter than noonday,(AG)
and darkness will become like morning.(AH)
18 You will be secure, because there is hope;
you will look about you and take your rest(AI) in safety.(AJ)
19 You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid,(AK)
and many will court your favor.(AL)
20 But the eyes of the wicked will fail,(AM)
and escape will elude them;(AN)
their hope will become a dying gasp.”(AO)
