29 L'uomo che, rimproverato, resta di dura cervice
sarà spezzato all'improvviso e senza rimedio.
2 Quando comandano i giusti, il popolo gioisce,
quando governano gli empi, il popolo geme.
3 Chi ama la sapienza allieta il padre,
ma chi frequenta prostitute dissipa il patrimonio.
4 Il re con la giustizia rende prospero il paese,
l'uomo che fa esazioni eccessive lo rovina.
5 L'uomo che adula il suo prossimo
gli tende una rete per i suoi passi.
6 Sotto i passi del malvagio c'è un trabocchetto,
mentre il giusto corre ed è contento.
7 Il giusto si prende a cuore la causa dei miseri,
ma l'empio non intende ragione.
8 I beffardi mettono sottosopra una città,
mentre i saggi placano la collera.
9 Se un saggio discute con uno stolto,
si agiti o rida, non vi sarà conclusione.
10 Gli uomini sanguinari odiano l'onesto,
mentre i giusti hanno cura di lui.
11 Lo stolto dà sfogo a tutto il suo malanimo,
il saggio alla fine lo sa calmare.
12 Se un principe dà ascolto alle menzogne,
tutti i suoi ministri sono malvagi.
13 Il povero e l'usuraio si incontrano;
è il Signore che illumina gli occhi di tutti e due.
14 Un re che giudichi i poveri con equità
rende saldo il suo trono per sempre.
15 La verga e la correzione danno sapienza,
ma il giovane lasciato a se stesso disonora sua madre.
16 Quando governano i malvagi, i delitti abbondano,
ma i giusti ne vedranno la rovina.
17 Correggi il figlio e ti farà contento
e ti procurerà consolazioni.
18 Senza la rivelazione il popolo diventa sfrenato;
beato chi osserva la legge.
19 Lo schiavo non si corregge a parole,
comprende, infatti, ma non obbedisce.
20 Hai visto un uomo precipitoso nel parlare?
C'è più da sperare in uno stolto che in lui.
21 Chi accarezza lo schiavo fin dall'infanzia,
alla fine costui diventerà insolente.
22 Un uomo collerico suscita litigi
e l'iracondo commette molte colpe.
23 L'orgoglio dell'uomo ne provoca l'umiliazione,
l'umile di cuore ottiene onori.
24 Chi è complice del ladro, odia se stesso,
egli sente l'imprecazione, ma non denuncia nulla.
25 Il temere gli uomini pone in una trappola;
ma chi confida nel Signore è al sicuro.
26 Molti ricercano il favore del principe,
ma è il Signore che giudica ognuno.
27 L'iniquo è un abominio per i giusti
e gli uomini retti sono in abominio ai malvagi.

公平诚实使国坚定
29 人屡次受责备，仍然硬着颈项，
他必突然毁灭，无法挽救。
2 义人增多的时候，人民就喜乐；
恶人掌权的时候，人民就叹息。
3 喜爱智慧的，使父亲喜乐；
亲近妓女的，耗尽家财。
4 君王以公正使国坚立；
收受贿赂的，使国覆亡。
5 谄媚邻舍的人，
是在他的脚下张设网罗。
6 恶人因为过犯，陷于网罗；
义人却欢呼喜乐。
7 义人关注穷人的冤情；
恶人却不分辨实情。
8 好讥笑人的煽动全城骚乱，
智慧人却止息众怒。
9 智慧人与愚妄人争讼，
愚妄人只会咆哮或嘲笑，总不能安静。
10 好流人血的恨恶完全人，
并寻索正直人的性命。
11 愚昧人把怒气尽情发泄，
智慧人却抑制怒气。
12 如果掌权者听信谎言，
他所有的臣仆必都是坏人。
13 世上有穷人，也有欺压人的，
两者的眼睛都蒙耶和华光照。
14 如果君王诚实地审判穷人；
他的国位必永远坚立。
15 杖责和管教能使人有智慧，
放纵的孩子使母亲蒙羞。
16 恶人增多的时候，过犯也必增多；
义人必看见他们倾覆。
17 管教你的儿子，他必使你得安息；
也必使你的心得喜乐。
18 没有启示，人民就没有法纪；
遵守律法的，就为有福。
19 只用言语，不能使奴仆受管教；
他虽然明白，却没有反应。
20 你见过言语急躁的人吗？
愚昧人比他更有指望。
21 如果人从小娇纵仆人，
结果必带来忧愁。
22 容易发怒的人，引起纷争；
脾气暴烈的人，多有过犯。
23 人的骄傲必使他卑微；
心里谦卑的，必得尊荣。
24 与盗贼分赃的，是恨恶自己的性命；
他虽然听见要他起誓作证的声音，
却不说话。
25 惧怕人的，必陷入网罗；
倚靠耶和华的，必得安全。
26 很多人求掌权者的情面，
但各人的判决是出于耶和华。
27 不义的人是义人所厌恶的；
行为正直的人是恶人所厌恶的。

29 Whoever remains stiff-necked(A) after many rebukes
will suddenly be destroyed(B)—without remedy.(C)
3 A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father,(G)
but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.(H)
4 By justice a king gives a country stability,(I)
but those who are greedy for[a] bribes tear it down.
5 Those who flatter their neighbors
are spreading nets for their feet.(J)
6 Evildoers are snared by their own sin,(K)
but the righteous shout for joy and are glad.
7 The righteous care about justice for the poor,(L)
but the wicked have no such concern.
8 Mockers stir up a city,
but the wise turn away anger.(M)
9 If a wise person goes to court with a fool,
the fool rages and scoffs, and there is no peace.
10 The bloodthirsty hate a person of integrity
and seek to kill the upright.(N)
13 The poor and the oppressor have this in common:
The Lord gives sight to the eyes of both.(S)
14 If a king judges the poor with fairness,
his throne will be established forever.(T)
15 A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom,
but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother.(U)
16 When the wicked thrive, so does sin,
but the righteous will see their downfall.(V)
17 Discipline your children, and they will give you peace;
they will bring you the delights you desire.(W)
18 Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint;
but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.(X)
19 Servants cannot be corrected by mere words;
though they understand, they will not respond.
20 Do you see someone who speaks in haste?
There is more hope for a fool than for them.(Y)
21 A servant pampered from youth
will turn out to be insolent.
22 An angry person stirs up conflict,
and a hot-tempered person commits many sins.(Z)
24 The accomplices of thieves are their own enemies;
they are put under oath and dare not testify.(AC)
27 The righteous detest the dishonest;
the wicked detest the upright.(AI)
