Proverbios 24
La Palabra (España)
Exhortaciones
24 No envidies a los malvados,
ni desees estar con ellos,
2 pues su mente trama violencias
y sus labios hablan de desgracias.
3 Con sabiduría se edifica una casa,
con inteligencia se consolida
4 y con arte se llenan sus piezas
de muebles confortables y valiosos.
5 Más vale sabio que fuerte
y persona docta que robusta;
6 pues la estrategia gana las guerras
y los buenos consejos dan victorias.
7 La sabiduría es inaccesible al necio,
incapaz de abrir su boca en público.
8 Al que trama maldades
lo llaman malintencionado.
9 La intriga del insensato es pecado,
y la gente detesta al insolente.
10 Si en día aciago flaqueas,
eres flaco de fuerzas.
11 Salva a los condenados a muerte,
libra a los conducidos al suplicio.
12 Pues, aunque digas que no lo sabías,
el que juzga los corazones lo conoce,
el que vigila tu vida lo sabe;
ni asaltes su morada;
17 Cuando caiga tu enemigo, no te alegres;
si tropieza, no saltes de gozo;
no provoques a ninguno de los dos;
lo maldicen los pueblos, lo desprecia la gente;
25 a quienes condenan al culpable,
les va bien y son felicitados.
26 Como beso en los labios
es la respuesta acertada.
27 Arregla tus asuntos urbanos,
cruzas los brazos y a descansar;

Saying 26
13 Eat honey, my son, for it is good;

and your hope will not be cut off.(L)

Further Sayings of the Wise
23 These also are sayings of the wise:(U)
To show partiality(V) in judging is not good:(W)
24 Whoever says to the guilty, “You are innocent,”(X)
will be cursed by peoples and denounced by nations.
25 But it will go well with those who convict the guilty,
and rich blessing will come on them.
26 An honest answer
is like a kiss on the lips.
27 Put your outdoor work in order
and get your fields ready;
after that, build your house.
28 Do not testify against your neighbor without cause(Y)—
would you use your lips to mislead?
29 Do not say, “I’ll do to them as they have done to me;
I’ll pay them back for what they did.”(Z)
30 I went past the field of a sluggard,(AA)
past the vineyard of someone who has no sense;
31 thorns had come up everywhere,
the ground was covered with weeds,
and the stone wall was in ruins.
32 I applied my heart to what I observed
and learned a lesson from what I saw:
33 A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest(AB)—
34 and poverty will come on you like a thief
and scarcity like an armed man.(AC)
