善恶互论垂为箴言

19 行为纯正的贫穷人,胜过乖谬愚妄的富足人。 心无知识的乃为不善,脚步急快的难免犯罪。 人的愚昧倾败他的道,他的心也抱怨耶和华。 财物使朋友增多,但穷人,朋友远离。 作假见证的必不免受罚,吐出谎言的终不能逃脱。 好施散的,有多人求他的恩情;爱送礼的,人都为他的朋友。 贫穷人,弟兄都恨他,何况他的朋友,更远离他。他用言语追随,他们却走了。 得着智慧的爱惜生命,保守聪明的必得好处。 作假见证的不免受罚,吐出谎言的也必灭亡。 10 愚昧人宴乐度日是不合宜的,何况仆人管辖王子呢? 11 人有见识就不轻易发怒,宽恕人的过失便是自己的荣耀。 12 王的愤怒好像狮子吼叫,他的恩典却如草上的甘露。 13 愚昧的儿子是父亲的祸患,妻子的争吵如雨连连滴漏。 14 房屋钱财是祖宗所遗留的,唯有贤惠的妻是耶和华所赐的。 15 懒惰使人沉睡,懈怠的人必受饥饿。 16 谨守诫命的保全生命,轻忽己路的必致死亡。 17 怜悯贫穷的就是借给耶和华,他的善行耶和华必偿还。 18 趁有指望管教你的儿子,你的心不可任他死亡。 19 暴怒的人必受刑罚,你若救他,必须再救。 20 你要听劝教,受训诲,使你终久有智慧。 21 人心多有计谋,唯有耶和华的筹算才能立定。 22 施行仁慈的令人爱慕,穷人强如说谎言的。 23 敬畏耶和华的得着生命,他必恒久知足,不遭祸患。 24 懒惰人放手在盘子里,就是向口撤回他也不肯。 25 鞭打亵慢人,愚蒙人必长见识;责备明哲人,他就明白知识。 26 虐待父亲、撵出母亲的,是贻羞致辱之子。 27 我儿,不可听了教训而又偏离知识的言语。 28 匪徒做见证戏笑公平,恶人的口吞下罪孽。 29 刑罚是为亵慢人预备的,鞭打是为愚昧人的背预备的。

20 酒能使人亵慢,浓酒使人喧嚷,凡因酒错误的,就无智慧。 王的威吓如同狮子吼叫,惹动他怒的是自害己命。 远离纷争是人的尊荣,愚妄人都爱争闹。 懒惰人因冬寒不肯耕种,到收割的时候,他必讨饭而无所得。 人心怀藏谋略好像深水,唯明哲人才能汲引出来。 人多述说自己的仁慈,但忠信人谁能遇着呢? 行为纯正的义人,他的子孙是有福的! 王坐在审判的位上,以眼目驱散诸恶。 谁能说:“我洁净了我的心,我脱净了我的罪”? 10 两样的法码,两样的升斗,都为耶和华所憎恶。 11 孩童的动作是清洁,是正直,都显明他的本性。 12 能听的耳,能看的眼,都是耶和华所造的。 13 不要贪睡,免致贫穷;眼要睁开,你就吃饱。 14 买物的说“不好,不好”,及至买去,他便自夸。 15 有金子和许多珍珠[a],唯有知识的嘴乃为贵重的珍宝。 16 谁为生人作保,就拿谁的衣服;谁为外人作保,谁就要承当。 17 以虚谎而得的食物人觉甘甜,但后来他的口必充满尘沙。 18 计谋都凭筹算立定,打仗要凭智谋。 19 往来传舌的泄漏密事,大张嘴的不可与他结交。 20 咒骂父母的,他的灯必灭,变为漆黑的黑暗。 21 起初速得的产业,终久却不为福。 22 你不要说“我要以恶报恶”,要等候耶和华,他必拯救你。 23 两样的法码为耶和华所憎恶,诡诈的天平也为不善。 24 人的脚步为耶和华所定,人岂能明白自己的路呢? 25 人冒失说“这是圣物”,许愿之后才查问,就是自陷网罗。 26 智慧的王簸散恶人,用碌碡滚轧他们。 27 人的灵是耶和华的灯,鉴察人的心腹。 28 王因仁慈和诚实得以保全他的国位,也因仁慈立稳。 29 强壮乃少年人的荣耀,白发为老年人的尊荣。 30 鞭伤除净人的罪恶,责打能入人的心腹。

21 王的心在耶和华手中好像垄沟的水,随意流转。 人所行的在自己眼中都看为正,唯有耶和华衡量人心。 行仁义、公平比献祭更蒙耶和华悦纳。 恶人发达[b],眼高心傲,这乃是罪。 殷勤筹划的足致丰裕,行事急躁的都必缺乏。 用诡诈之舌求财的,就是自己取死,所得之财乃是吹来吹去的浮云。 恶人的强暴必将自己扫除,因他们不肯按公平行事。 负罪之人的路甚是弯曲,至于清洁的人,他所行的乃是正直。 宁可住在房顶的角上,不在宽阔的房屋与争吵的妇人同住。 10 恶人的心乐人受祸,他眼并不怜恤邻舍。 11 亵慢的人受刑罚,愚蒙的人就得智慧;智慧人受训诲,便得知识。 12 义人思想恶人的家,知道恶人倾倒,必致灭亡。 13 塞耳不听穷人哀求的,他将来呼吁也不蒙应允。 14 暗中送的礼物挽回怒气,怀中揣的贿赂止息暴怒。 15 秉公行义使义人喜乐,使作孽的人败坏。 16 迷离通达道路的,必住在阴魂的会中。 17 爱宴乐的必致穷乏,好酒爱膏油的必不富足。 18 恶人做了义人的赎价,奸诈人代替正直人。 19 宁可住在旷野,不与争吵使气的妇人同住。 20 智慧人家中积蓄宝物、膏油,愚昧人随得来随吞下。 21 追求公义仁慈的,就寻得生命、公义和尊荣。 22 智慧人爬上勇士的城墙,倾覆他所倚靠的坚垒。 23 谨守口与舌的,就保守自己免受灾难。 24 心骄气傲的人,名叫亵慢,他行事狂妄,都出于骄傲。 25 懒惰人的心愿将他杀害,因为他手不肯做工。 26 有终日贪得无厌的,义人施舍而不吝惜。 27 恶人的祭物是可憎的,何况他存恶意来献呢? 28 作假见证的必灭亡,唯有听真情而言的,其言长存。 29 恶人脸无羞耻,正直人行事坚定。 30 没有人能以智慧、聪明、谋略抵挡耶和华。 31 马是为打仗之日预备的,得胜乃在乎耶和华。

人因愚昧而自毁前程,

财富招来许多朋友,
    穷人却遭朋友抛弃。
作伪证者难免受罚,
    撒谎的人罪责难逃。
大家都讨好慷慨的人,
    人人都结交好施赠的。
穷人被亲人厌弃,

    他苦苦哀求,也无人理会。
得到智慧的珍惜生命,
    持守悟性的享受福乐。
作伪证者难免受罚,
    撒谎的人自取灭亡。
10 愚人奢华宴乐不相宜,
    奴隶管辖王子更离谱。
11 智者不轻易发怒,
    饶恕是他的荣耀。
12 君王的震怒像雄狮怒吼,
    君王的恩泽如草上甘露。
13 愚昧之子是父亲的灾殃,
    争闹之妻如雨滴漏不止。
14 房屋钱财是祖先的遗产,
    贤慧之妻乃耶和华所赐。
15 懒惰使人沉睡,
    懈怠使人挨饿。
16 遵守诫命的保全性命,
    藐视诫命的自寻死路。
17 善待穷人等于借贷给耶和华,
    耶和华必回报他的善行。
18 管教孩子宜早不宜晚,
    不可任由他走向灭亡。
19 脾气暴躁的人必吃苦头。
    你若救他,一次肯定不够。
20 你要受教听劝,
    以便得到智慧。
21 人心中有许多计划,
    唯耶和华的旨意成就。
22 人心爱慕忠诚,
    受穷胜过撒谎。
23 敬畏耶和华使人得享生命,
    安然满足,免遭祸患。
24 懒惰人手放在餐盘,
    却懒得送食物进嘴。
25 责打嘲讽者,愚人学会谨慎;
    责备明哲人,他会增长见识。

    但谁能找到忠信者?
义人行为正直,
    他的后代也蒙福。
王坐在宝座上审判,
    他的眼目明察罪恶。
谁敢说:“我心灵洁净,纯洁无罪?”
10 缺斤少两、尺寸不足,
    都为耶和华所憎恶。
11 孩童的举动是否纯良,
    都显明他的本性。
12 能听的耳,能看的眼,
    两者都为耶和华所造。
13 不要贪睡,免得贫穷;
    勤劳工作,粮食丰足。
14 买主总说货物不好,
    买走后又连连自夸。
15 智慧之言胜过黄金和许多珠宝。
16 谁为陌生人作保,就拿去谁的外衣;
    谁为外族人作保,就要承担责任。
17 骗来的饼觉得香甜,
    最后却是满口泥沙。
18 集思出良策,
    征战靠智谋。
19 嚼舌的人泄露秘密,
    不可结交多嘴的人。
20 咒骂父母的人,
    他的生命[a]必消逝在黑暗中。
21 早年轻易得来之财,
    最终不会成为祝福。
22 不要说:“我要以恶报恶”,
    要等候耶和华替你申冤。
23 耶和华憎恶缺斤少两,
    祂厌恶骗人的天平。
24 人的脚步由耶和华所定,
    人怎能知道自己的道路?
25 人向主许愿要三思,
    免得事后作茧自缚。
26 明君必筛出恶人,
    用石磙碾轧他们。
27 心灵是耶和华的灯,
    鉴察人的肺腑心肠。
28 君王靠慈爱和忠信护佑,
    他的王位因慈爱而稳固。
29 力量是青年的荣耀,
    白发是老人的尊荣。

    易如支配垄沟的流水。
人自以为行事正确,
    但耶和华衡量人心。
秉公行义比献祭更蒙耶和华喜悦。
高傲的眼,狂妄的心,恶人的灯,
    都是罪恶。
勤劳者的计划必致富足,
    行事急躁的人必致贫困。
骗来的财如过眼云雾,
    使人掉进死亡的陷阱。
恶人的暴力必毁灭自己,
    因为他们行事不公不义。
犯罪的人行径扭曲,
    纯洁的人行为正直。
宁愿住在房顶的一角,
    也不跟争闹之妻同屋。
10 恶人贪恋邪恶,
    对邻舍残忍无情。
11 惩罚嘲讽者,愚人得智慧;
    训诫智者,他便长见识。
12 公义的上帝鉴察恶人的家,
    祂必使他们灭亡。
13 掩耳不听穷人呼求的,
    他将来求救也无人管。
14 暗中送的礼物能平息愤怒,
    塞进怀里的贿赂止息盛怒。
15 正义得到伸张,
    义人喜、恶人怕。
16 人偏离明智之道,
    终必与阴魂为伍。
17 贪图享受必穷困,
    奢华宴乐难富足。
18 恶人作义人的赎价,
    奸徒替正直人受苦。
19 宁愿独居旷野,
    不跟吵闹易怒的女子同住。
20 智者家中积存宝物和油,
    愚人将所有的挥霍一空。

    必寻得生命、公义和尊荣。
22 智者攀上勇士的城池,
    摧毁他们倚仗的坚垒。
23 管住口舌,免遭祸患。

    因为他的手不肯做工。

14 Houses and wealth are inherited from parents,(W)
    but a prudent wife is from the Lord.(X)

15 Laziness brings on deep sleep,
    and the shiftless go hungry.(Y)

16 Whoever keeps commandments keeps their life,
    but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die.(Z)

17 Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord,(AA)

18 Discipline your children, for in that there is hope;

19 A hot-tempered person must pay the penalty;
    rescue them, and you will have to do it again.

20 Listen to advice and accept discipline,(AD)

21 Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
    but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.(AF)

22 What a person desires is unfailing love[b];
    better to be poor than a liar.

23 The fear of the Lord leads to life;

    those who anger him forfeit their lives.(AT)

It is to one’s honor to avoid strife,

Sluggards(AW) do not plow in season;
    so at harvest time they look but find nothing.(AX)

The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters,(AY)
    but one who has insight draws them out.

Many claim to have unfailing love,

    then goes off and boasts about the purchase.

15 Gold there is, and rubies in abundance,
    but lips that speak knowledge are a rare jewel.

16 Take the garment of one who puts up security for a stranger;
    hold it in pledge(BK) if it is done for an outsider.(BL)

17 Food gained by fraud tastes sweet,(BM)
    but one ends up with a mouth full of gravel.(BN)

18 Plans are established by seeking advice;

21 An inheritance claimed too soon

    Wait for the Lord, and he will avenge you.(BT)

23 The Lord detests differing weights,
    and dishonest scales do not please him.(BU)

24 A person’s steps are directed(BV) by the Lord.(BW)
    How then can anyone understand their own way?(BX)

25 It is a trap to dedicate something rashly
    and only later to consider one’s vows.(BY)

26 A wise king winnows out the wicked;

28 Love and faithfulness keep a king safe;

21 In the Lord’s hand the king’s heart is a stream of water
    that he channels toward all who please him.(CH)

A person may think their own ways are right,
    but the Lord weighs the heart.(CI)

To do what is right and just
    is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.(CJ)

Haughty eyes(CK) and a proud heart—
    the unplowed field of the wicked—produce sin.

The plans of the diligent lead to profit(CL)
    as surely as haste leads to poverty.

A fortune made by a lying tongue
    is a fleeting vapor and a deadly snare.[d](CM)

The violence of the wicked will drag them away,(CN)
    for they refuse to do what is right.

The way of the guilty is devious,(CO)
    but the conduct of the innocent is upright.

Better to live on a corner of the roof
    than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.(CP)

10 The wicked crave evil;
    their neighbors get no mercy from them.

11 When a mocker is punished, the simple gain wisdom;
    by paying attention to the wise they get knowledge.(CQ)

12 The Righteous One[e] takes note of the house of the wicked
    and brings the wicked to ruin.(CR)

13 Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor
    will also cry out(CS) and not be answered.(CT)

14 A gift given in secret soothes anger,
    and a bribe concealed in the cloak pacifies great wrath.(CU)

15 When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous
    but terror to evildoers.(CV)

16 Whoever strays from the path of prudence
    comes to rest in the company of the dead.(CW)

17 Whoever loves pleasure will become poor;
    whoever loves wine and olive oil will never be rich.(CX)

18 The wicked become a ransom(CY) for the righteous,
    and the unfaithful for the upright.

19 Better to live in a desert
    than with a quarrelsome and nagging wife.(CZ)

20 The wise store up choice food and olive oil,
    but fools gulp theirs down.

21 Whoever pursues righteousness and love
    finds life, prosperity[f](DA) and honor.(DB)

22 One who is wise can go up against the city of the mighty(DC)
    and pull down the stronghold in which they trust.

23 Those who guard their mouths(DD) and their tongues
    keep themselves from calamity.(DE)

24 The proud and arrogant person(DF)—“Mocker” is his name—
    behaves with insolent fury.

25 The craving of a sluggard will be the death of him,(DG)
    because his hands refuse to work.
26 All day long he craves for more,
    but the righteous(DH) give without sparing.(DI)

27 The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable(DJ)
    how much more so when brought with evil intent!(DK)

28 A false witness(DL) will perish,(DM)
    but a careful listener will testify successfully.

29 The wicked put up a bold front,
    but the upright give thought to their ways.(DN)

30 There is no wisdom,(DO) no insight, no plan
    that can succeed against the Lord.(DP)

31 The horse is made ready for the day of battle,
    but victory rests with the Lord.(DQ)
