16 心中的谋算在乎人,舌头的应对由于耶和华。 2 人一切所行的在自己眼中看为清洁,唯有耶和华衡量人心。 3 你所做的要交托耶和华,你所谋的就必成立。 4 耶和华所造的各适其用,就是恶人也为祸患的日子所造。 5 凡心里骄傲的,为耶和华所憎恶,虽然连手,他必不免受罚。 6 因怜悯、诚实,罪孽得赎;敬畏耶和华的,远离恶事。 7 人所行的若蒙耶和华喜悦,耶和华也使他的仇敌与他和好。 8 多有财利行事不义,不如少有财利行事公义。 9 人心筹算自己的道路,唯耶和华指引他的脚步。 10 王的嘴中有神语,审判之时,他的口必不差错。 11 公道的天平和秤都属耶和华,囊中一切法码都为他所定。 12 作恶为王所憎恶,因国位是靠公义坚立。 13 公义的嘴为王所喜悦,说正直话的为王所喜爱。 14 王的震怒如杀人的使者,但智慧人能止息王怒。 15 王的脸光使人有生命,王的恩典好像春云时雨。 16 得智慧胜似得金子,选聪明强如选银子。 17 正直人的道是远离恶事,谨守己路的是保全性命。 18 骄傲在败坏以先,狂心在跌倒之前。 19 心里谦卑与穷乏人来往,强如将掳物与骄傲人同分。 20 谨守训言的必得好处,倚靠耶和华的便为有福。 21 心中有智慧必称为通达人,嘴中的甜言加增人的学问。 22 人有智慧就有生命的泉源,愚昧人必被愚昧惩治。 23 智慧人的心教训他的口,又使他的嘴增长学问。 24 良言如同蜂房,使心觉甘甜,使骨得医治。 25 有一条路人以为正,至终成为死亡之路。 26 劳力人的胃口使他劳力,因为他的口腹催逼他。 27 匪徒图谋奸恶,嘴上仿佛有烧焦的火。 28 乖僻人播散纷争,传舌的离间密友。 29 强暴人诱惑邻舍,领他走不善之道。 30 眼目紧合的图谋乖僻,嘴唇紧闭的成就邪恶。 31 白发是荣耀的冠冕,在公义的道上必能得着。 32 不轻易发怒的胜过勇士,制伏己心的强如取城。 33 签放在怀里,定事由耶和华。

17 设筵满屋大家相争,不如有块干饼大家相安。 2 仆人办事聪明,必管辖贻羞之子,又在众子中同分产业。 3 鼎为炼银,炉为炼金,唯有耶和华熬炼人心。 4 行恶的留心听奸诈之言,说谎的侧耳听邪恶之语。 5 戏笑穷人的是辱没造他的主,幸灾乐祸的必不免受罚。 6 子孙为老人的冠冕,父亲是儿女的荣耀。 7 愚顽人说美言本不相宜,何况君王说谎话呢? 8 贿赂在馈送的人眼中看为宝玉,随处运动都得顺利。 9 遮掩人过的寻求人爱,屡次挑错的离间密友。 10 一句责备话深入聪明人的心,强如责打愚昧人一百下。 11 恶人只寻背叛,所以必有严厉的使者奉差攻击他。 12 宁可遇见丢崽子的母熊,不可遇见正行愚妄的愚昧人。 13 以恶报善的,祸患必不离他的家。 14 纷争的起头如水放开,所以在争闹之先必当止息争竞。 15 定恶人为义的,定义人为恶的,这都为耶和华所憎恶。 16 愚昧人既无聪明,为何手拿价银买智慧呢? 17 朋友乃时常亲爱,弟兄为患难而生。 18 在邻舍面前击掌作保,乃是无知的人。 19 喜爱争竞的是喜爱过犯,高立家门的乃自取败坏。 20 心存邪僻的寻不着好处,舌弄是非的陷在祸患中。 21 生愚昧子的必自愁苦,愚顽人的父毫无喜乐。 22 喜乐的心乃是良药,忧伤的灵使骨枯干。 23 恶人暗中受贿赂,为要颠倒判断。 24 明哲人眼前有智慧,愚昧人眼望地极。 25 愚昧子使父亲愁烦,使母亲忧苦。 26 刑罚义人为不善,责打君子为不义。 27 寡少言语的有知识,性情温良的有聪明。 28 愚昧人若静默不言,也可算为智慧;闭口不说,也可算为聪明。

18 与众寡合的,独自寻求心愿,并恼恨一切真智慧。 2 愚昧人不喜爱明哲,只喜爱显露心意。 3 恶人来,藐视随来;羞耻到,辱骂同到。 4 人口中的言语如同深水,智慧的泉源好像涌流的河水。 5 瞻徇恶人的情面,偏断义人的案件,都为不善。 6 愚昧人张嘴启争端,开口招鞭打。 7 愚昧人的口自取败坏,他的嘴是他生命的网罗。 8 传舌人的言语如同美食,深入人的心腹。 9 做工懈怠的,与浪费人为弟兄。 10 耶和华的名是坚固台,义人奔入便得安稳。 11 富足人的财物是他的坚城,在他心想,犹如高墙。 12 败坏之先,人心骄傲;尊荣以前,必有谦卑。 13 未曾听完先回答的,便是他的愚昧和羞辱。 14 人有疾病心能忍耐,心灵忧伤,谁能承当呢? 15 聪明人的心得知识,智慧人的耳求知识。 16 人的礼物为他开路,引他到高位的人面前。 17 先诉情由的似乎有理,但邻舍来到,就察出实情。 18 掣签能止息争竞,也能解散强盛的人。 19 弟兄结怨,劝他和好比取坚固城还难,这样的争竞如同坚寨的门闩。 20 人口中所结的果子必充满肚腹,他嘴所出的必使他饱足。 21 生死在舌头的权下,喜爱它的必吃它所结的果子。 22 得着贤妻的,是得着好处,也是蒙了耶和华的恩惠。 23 贫穷人说哀求的话,富足人用威吓的话回答。 24 滥交朋友的自取败坏,但有一朋友比弟兄更亲密。

New International Version
16 To humans belong the plans of the heart,
but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue.(A)
3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do,
and he will establish your plans.(E)
6 Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for;
through the fear of the Lord(J) evil is avoided.(K)
7 When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way,
he causes their enemies to make peace(L) with them.(M)
9 In their hearts humans plan their course,
but the Lord establishes their steps.(P)
10 The lips of a king speak as an oracle,
and his mouth does not betray justice.(Q)
11 Honest scales and balances belong to the Lord;
all the weights in the bag are of his making.(R)
12 Kings detest wrongdoing,
for a throne is established through righteousness.(S)
13 Kings take pleasure in honest lips;
they value the one who speaks what is right.(T)
17 The highway of the upright avoids evil;
those who guard their ways preserve their lives.(AA)
19 Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed
than to share plunder with the proud.
20 Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,[a](AE)
and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.(AF)
22 Prudence is a fountain of life to the prudent,(AH)
but folly brings punishment to fools.
26 The appetite of laborers works for them;
their hunger drives them on.
29 A violent person entices their neighbor
and leads them down a path that is not good.(AS)
30 Whoever winks(AT) with their eye is plotting perversity;
whoever purses their lips is bent on evil.
31 Gray hair is a crown of splendor;(AU)
it is attained in the way of righteousness.
32 Better a patient person than a warrior,
one with self-control than one who takes a city.
17 Better a dry crust with peace and quiet
than a house full of feasting, with strife.(AY)
2 A prudent servant will rule over a disgraceful son
and will share the inheritance as one of the family.
4 A wicked person listens to deceitful lips;
a liar pays attention to a destructive tongue.
5 Whoever mocks the poor(BB) shows contempt for their Maker;(BC)
whoever gloats over disaster(BD) will not go unpunished.(BE)
6 Children’s children(BF) are a crown to the aged,
and parents are the pride of their children.
7 Eloquent lips are unsuited to a godless fool—
how much worse lying lips to a ruler!(BG)
8 A bribe is seen as a charm by the one who gives it;
they think success will come at every turn.(BH)
9 Whoever would foster love covers over an offense,(BI)
but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.(BJ)
10 A rebuke impresses a discerning person
more than a hundred lashes a fool.
11 Evildoers foster rebellion against God;
the messenger of death will be sent against them.
12 Better to meet a bear robbed of her cubs
than a fool bent on folly.(BK)
14 Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam;
so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.(BN)
16 Why should fools have money in hand to buy wisdom,
when they are not able to understand it?(BQ)
17 A friend loves at all times,
and a brother is born for a time of adversity.(BR)
18 One who has no sense shakes hands in pledge
and puts up security for a neighbor.(BS)
19 Whoever loves a quarrel loves sin;
whoever builds a high gate invites destruction.
20 One whose heart is corrupt does not prosper;
one whose tongue is perverse falls into trouble.
21 To have a fool for a child brings grief;
there is no joy for the parent of a godless fool.(BT)
24 A discerning person keeps wisdom in view,
but a fool’s eyes(BY) wander to the ends of the earth.
25 A foolish son brings grief to his father
and bitterness to the mother who bore him.(BZ)
26 If imposing a fine on the innocent is not good,(CA)
surely to flog honest officials is not right.
27 The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint,(CB)
and whoever has understanding is even-tempered.(CC)
28 Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent,
and discerning if they hold their tongues.(CD)
18 An unfriendly person pursues selfish ends
and against all sound judgment starts quarrels.
2 Fools find no pleasure in understanding
but delight in airing their own opinions.(CE)
3 When wickedness comes, so does contempt,
and with shame comes reproach.
4 The words of the mouth are deep waters,(CF)
but the fountain of wisdom is a rushing stream.
6 The lips of fools bring them strife,
and their mouths invite a beating.(CI)
8 The words of a gossip are like choice morsels;
they go down to the inmost parts.(CL)
9 One who is slack in his work
is brother to one who destroys.(CM)
11 The wealth of the rich is their fortified city;(CP)
they imagine it a wall too high to scale.
12 Before a downfall the heart is haughty,
but humility comes before honor.(CQ)
13 To answer before listening—
that is folly and shame.(CR)
14 The human spirit can endure in sickness,
but a crushed spirit who can bear?(CS)
15 The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge,(CT)
for the ears of the wise seek it out.
16 A gift(CU) opens the way
and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.
17 In a lawsuit the first to speak seems right,
until someone comes forward and cross-examines.
18 Casting the lot settles disputes(CV)
and keeps strong opponents apart.
19 A brother wronged(CW) is more unyielding than a fortified city;
disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel.
20 From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled;
with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied.(CX)
23 The poor plead for mercy,
but the rich answer harshly.
24 One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.(DC)
