16 心中的策划在于人，
应对之言来自耶和华。
2 人看自己的行为都纯全，
但是耶和华却衡量人心。
3 把你的事交托耶和华，
你的计划必实现。
4 耶和华所造的万物各有其用，
连恶人也是为灾难之日所造。
5 耶和华厌恶心骄气傲者，
他们必逃不过祂的责罚。
6 慈爱和忠信可让罪恶得赎，
敬畏耶和华使人远离罪恶。
7 人所行的若蒙耶和华喜悦，
耶和华必使仇敌与他和好。
8 财物虽少但行事公义，
胜过家财万贯却不公义。
9 人心中筹划自己的道路，
但耶和华决定他的脚步。
10 王口中有上帝的话，
断案时必无差错。
11 公道的秤与天平属于耶和华，
袋中一切的砝码由祂制定。
12 君王憎恨恶行，
因王位靠公义而立。
13 王喜爱公义的言词，
器重说话正直的人。
14 王的烈怒如死亡使者，
然而智者能平息王怒。
15 王的笑容带给人生命，
他的恩惠像春雨之云。
16 得智慧胜过得黄金，
获悟性胜过获白银。
17 正直人的大道远离罪恶，
坚守正道的保全性命。
18 骄横是沦亡的前奏，

31 白发是荣耀的冠冕，
行为公义方能得到。
32 不轻易发怒者胜过勇士，
能自我控制胜过攻陷城池。
33 人可以摇签求问，

Proverbs 16
Modern English Version
16 The preparations of the heart belong to man,
but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.
2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes,
but the Lord weighs the spirit.
3 Commit your works to the Lord,
and your thoughts will be established.
4 The Lord has made all things for Himself,
yes, even the wicked for the day of evil.
5 Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord;
be assured, he will not be unpunished.
6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged;
and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.
7 When a man’s ways please the Lord,
He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8 Better is a little with righteousness
than great revenues with injustice.
9 A man’s heart devises his way,
but the Lord directs his steps.
10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king;
his mouth does not transgress in judgment.
11 A just weight and balance belong to the Lord;
all the weights of the bag are His work.
12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness,
for the throne is established by righteousness.
13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings,
and they love him who speaks right.
14 The wrath of a king is as messengers of death,
but a wise man will pacify it.
15 In the light of the king’s countenance is life,
and his favor is as a cloud of the latter rain.
16 How much better to get wisdom than gold!
And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver!
17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil;
he who keeps his way preserves his soul.
18 Pride goes before destruction,
and a haughty spirit before a fall.
19 Better it is to be of a humble spirit with the lowly
than to divide the spoil with the proud.
20 He who handles a matter wisely will find good,
and whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he.
21 The wise in heart will be called prudent,
and the sweetness of the lips increases learning.
22 Understanding is a wellspring of life to him who has it,
but the instruction of fools is folly.
23 The heart of the wise teaches his mouth,
and adds learning to his lips.
24 Pleasant words are as a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and health to the bones.
25 There is a way that seems right to a man,
but its end is the way of death.
26 He who labors, labors for himself,
for his mouth craves it of him.
27 An ungodly man digs up evil,
and in his lips there is as a burning fire.
28 A perverse man sows strife,
and a whisperer separates the best of friends.
29 A violent man entices his neighbor,
and leads him into the way that is not good.
30 He shuts his eyes to devise perverse things;
moving his lips he brings evil to pass.
31 The gray-haired head is a crown of glory,
if it is found in the way of righteousness.
32 He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
33 The lot is cast into the lap,
but the whole outcome is of the Lord.

Palabra de Dios para Todos
16 La gente hace planes,
pero sólo el SEÑOR puede hacerlos realidad.
2 Cada cual cree que lo que hace está bien,
pero el SEÑOR es quien califica las intenciones.
3 Pon en manos del SEÑOR todo lo que haces,
para que tus planes se hagan realidad.
4 Todo lo que ha hecho el SEÑOR tiene un propósito;
incluso el hombre perverso, que fue hecho para el día del castigo.
5 El SEÑOR detesta a los que se creen mejores que los demás
y es seguro que castigará a los orgullosos.
6 El fiel amor y la lealtad remediarán tus pecados;
respeta al SEÑOR y estarás lejos del mal.
7 Cuando el SEÑOR aprueba la manera de vivir de alguien,
incluso a sus enemigos hace estar en paz con él.
8 Es mejor ganar poco, pero honestamente,
que ganar mucho, pero estafando.
9 Uno puede planear su vida,
pero el SEÑOR decide lo que a uno le va a suceder.
10 Las palabras del rey son ley,
por eso deben ser siempre justas.
11 El SEÑOR quiere que todas las escalas y balanzas sean exactas
y que los acuerdos de negocios sean limpios.
12 Los reyes odian a la gente que hace el mal
porque hacer justicia fortalece al gobierno.
13 Al rey le agrada que le digan la verdad
y ama a los que no mienten.
14 El enojo del rey puede matar a alguien,
pero el sabio podrá calmar su enojo.
15 Si el rey está contento, la vida será mejor para todos;
contar con su aprobación es como lluvia primaveral.
16 La sabiduría vale mucho más que el oro,
y la inteligencia mucho más que la plata.
17 La gente buena se esfuerza por evitar la maldad;
el que cuida lo que hace se protege a si mismo.
18 Después del orgullo viene la caída;
tras la arrogancia, el fracaso.
19 Es mejor ser humilde y vivir con los pobres
que compartir riquezas con los orgullosos.
20 El que sabe hacer bien algo, prosperará;
afortunado el que confía en el SEÑOR.
21 La gente reconoce que el que piensa sabiamente es inteligente;
convence mejor el que elige cuidadosamente sus palabras.
22 La sabiduría trae verdadera vida a los que la aprecian,
pero los tontos sólo aprenden a ser más tontos.
23 Un hombre sabio siempre piensa antes de hablar;
dice lo correcto y vale la pena escucharlo.
24 Las palabras amables son como la miel:
se aceptan con gusto y son buenas para la salud.
25 Hay caminos que a uno le parecen correctos,
pero en realidad llevan a la muerte.
26 El apetito de un trabajador hace que siga trabajando;
el hambre lo hace trabajar.
27 El perverso sólo planea el mal,
y sus palabras destruyen como el fuego.
28 El perverso arma líos,
y el chismoso fomenta enemistad entre los amigos.
29 El violento causa dificultades a sus semejantes,
los lleva por el camino equivocado,
30 guiña el ojo al tiempo que está planeando algo malo
y sonríe mientras planea hacerle daño a su semejante.
31 El cabello plateado es corona de gloria
para los que han vivido honestamente.
32 Es mejor ser paciente que ser soldado fuerte
y es mejor dominar la ira que dominar toda una ciudad.
33 La gente mete fichas en un bolso y las agita,
pero el SEÑOR decide cuál es la que sale.
