15 回答柔和使怒消退，言语暴戾触动怒气。 ²智慧人的舌善发知识，愚昧人的口吐出愚昧。 ³耶和华的眼目无处不在，恶人善人他都鉴察。 ⁴温良的舌是生命树，乖谬的嘴使人心碎。 ⁵愚妄人藐视父亲的管教，领受责备的得着见识。 ⁶义人家中多有财宝，恶人得利反受扰害。 ⁷智慧人的嘴播扬知识，愚昧人的心并不如此。 ⁸恶人献祭为耶和华所憎恶，正直人祈祷为他所喜悦。 ⁹恶人的道路为耶和华所憎恶，追求公义的为他所喜爱。 ¹⁰舍弃正路的必受严刑，恨恶责备的必致死亡。 ¹¹阴间和灭亡尚在耶和华眼前，何况世人的心呢？ ¹²亵慢人不爱受责备，他也不就近智慧人。 ¹³心中喜乐，面带笑容；心里忧愁，灵被损伤。 ¹⁴聪明人心求知识，愚昧人口吃愚昧。 ¹⁵困苦人的日子都是愁苦，心中欢畅的常享丰筵。 ¹⁶少有财宝敬畏耶和华，强如多有财宝烦乱不安。 ¹⁷吃素菜彼此相爱，强如吃肥牛彼此相恨。 ¹⁸暴怒的人挑起争端，忍怒的人止息纷争。 ¹⁹懒惰人的道像荆棘的篱笆，正直人的路是平坦的大道。 ²⁰智慧子使父亲喜乐，愚昧人藐视母亲。 ²¹无知的人以愚妄为乐，聪明的人按正直而行。 ²²不先商议，所谋无效；谋士众多，所谋乃成。 ²³口善应对，自觉喜乐；话合其时，何等美好。 ²⁴智慧人从生命的道上升，使他远离在下的阴间。 ²⁵耶和华必拆毁骄傲人的家，却要立定寡妇的地界。 ²⁶恶谋为耶和华所憎恶，良言乃为纯净。 ²⁷贪恋财利的扰害己家，恨恶贿赂的必得存活。 ²⁸义人的心思量如何回答，恶人的口吐出恶言。 ²⁹耶和华远离恶人，却听义人的祷告。 ³⁰眼有光使心喜乐，好信息使骨滋润。 ³¹听从生命责备的，必常在智慧人中。 ³²弃绝管教的，轻看自己的生命；听从责备的，却得智慧。 ³³敬畏耶和华是智慧的训诲，尊荣以前必有谦卑。

15 A gentle answer^(A) turns away wrath,^(B)
but a harsh word stirs up anger.

²The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge,^(C)
but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.^(D)

³The eyes^(E) of the Lord are everywhere,^(F)
keeping watch on the wicked and the good.^(G)

⁴The soothing tongue^(H) is a tree of life,^(I)
but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.^(J)

⁵A fool spurns a parent’s discipline,
but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.^(K)

⁶The house of the righteous contains great treasure,^(L)
but the income of the wicked brings ruin.^(M)

⁷The lips of the wise spread knowledge,^(N)
but the hearts of fools are not upright.

⁸The Lord detests the sacrifice^(O) of the wicked,^(P)
but the prayer of the upright pleases him.^(Q)

⁹The Lord detests the way of the wicked,^(R)
but he loves those who pursue righteousness.^(S)

¹⁰Stern discipline awaits anyone who leaves the path;
the one who hates correction will die.^(T)

¹²Mockers resent correction,^(W)
so they avoid the wise.

¹³A happy heart makes the face cheerful,^(X)

but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.

¹⁵All the days of the oppressed are wretched,

but gracious words are pure^(AR) in his sight.

²⁷The greedy bring ruin to their households,

²⁹The Lord is far from the wicked,
but he hears the prayer of the righteous.^(AV)

³⁰Light in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart,
