箴言 14

14 智慧的女子建立家园，
愚昧的女子亲手拆毁。
2 行为正直的人敬畏耶和华，
行事邪僻的人轻视耶和华。
3 愚人的狂言招来鞭打，
智者的唇舌保护自己。
4 没有耕牛槽头净，
五谷丰登需壮牛。
5 忠实的证人不会撒谎，
虚假的证人谎话连篇。
6 嘲讽者徒然寻智慧，
明哲人轻易得知识。
7 你要远离愚昧人，
他口中毫无知识。
8 明哲凭智慧辨道，
愚人被愚昧欺骗。
9 愚妄人戏看罪恶，
正直人彼此恩待。
10 心头的愁苦，唯有自己明白；
心中的喜乐，外人无法分享。
11 恶人的房屋必遭毁灭，
正直人的帐篷必兴盛。
12 有的路看似正确，
最终却通向死亡。
13 欢笑难消内心的痛苦，
欢乐过后，悲伤犹在。
14 背弃正道，自食恶果；
善人行善，必得善报。
15 愚昧人什么都信，
明哲人步步谨慎。
16 智者小心谨慎，远离恶事；
愚人骄傲自负，行事鲁莽。
17 急躁易怒的人做事愚昧，
阴险奸诈之人遭人痛恨。
18 愚昧人得愚昧作产业，
明哲人得知识为冠冕。
19 坏人俯伏在善人面前，
恶人俯伏在义人门口。
20 穷人遭邻舍厌，
富人朋友众多。
21 藐视邻舍是罪过，
怜悯穷人蒙福乐。
22 图谋恶事的步入歧途，
行善的受爱戴和拥护。
23 殷勤工作，带来益处；
满嘴空谈，导致贫穷。
24 智者以财富为冠冕，
愚人以愚昧为装饰。
25 诚实的证人挽救性命，
口吐谎言者欺骗他人。
26 敬畏耶和华的信心坚定，
他的子孙也有庇护所。
27 敬畏耶和华是生命的泉源，
可以使人避开死亡的陷阱。
28 人民众多，是君王的荣耀；
没有臣民，君主必然败亡。
29 不轻易发怒者深明事理，
鲁莽急躁的人显出愚昧。
30 心平气和，滋润生命；
妒火中烧，啃蚀骨头。
31 欺压穷人等于侮辱造物主，
怜悯贫弱就是尊敬造物主。
32 恶人因恶行而灭亡，
义人到死仍有倚靠。
33 智慧存在哲士心里，
愚人心中充满无知。
34 公义能叫邦国兴盛，
罪恶是人民的耻辱。
35 明智的臣子蒙王喜悦，
可耻的仆人惹王发怒。

14 La femme sage bâtit sa maison, Et la femme insensée la renverse de ses propres mains.
2 Celui qui marche dans la droiture craint l'Éternel, Mais celui qui prend des voies tortueuses le méprise.
3 Dans la bouche de l'insensé est une verge pour son orgueil, Mais les lèvres des sages les gardent.
4 S'il n'y a pas de boeufs, la crèche est vide; C'est à la vigueur des boeufs qu'on doit l'abondance des revenus.
5 Un témoin fidèle ne ment pas, Mais un faux témoin dit des mensonges.
6 Le moqueur cherche la sagesse et ne la trouve pas, Mais pour l'homme intelligent la science est chose facile.
7 Éloigne-toi de l'insensé; Ce n'est pas sur ses lèvres que tu aperçois la science.
8 La sagesse de l'homme prudent, c'est l'intelligence de sa voie; La folie des insensés, c'est la tromperie.
9 Les insensés se font un jeu du péché, Mais parmi les hommes droits se trouve la bienveillance.
10 Le coeur connaît ses propres chagrins, Et un étranger ne saurait partager sa joie.
11 La maison des méchants sera détruite, Mais la tente des hommes droits fleurira.
12 Telle voie paraît droite à un homme, Mais son issue, c'est la voie de la mort.
13 Au milieu même du rire le coeur peut être affligé, Et la joie peut finir par la détresse.
14 Celui dont le coeur s'égare se rassasie de ses voies, Et l'homme de bien se rassasie de ce qui est en lui.
15 L'homme simple croit tout ce qu'on dit, Mais l'homme prudent est attentif à ses pas.
16 Le sage a de la retenue et se détourne du mal, Mais l'insensé est arrogant et plein de sécurité.
17 Celui qui est prompt à la colère fait des sottises, Et l'homme plein de malice s'attire la haine.
18 Les simples ont en partage la folie, Et les hommes prudents se font de la science une couronne.
19 Les mauvais s'inclinent devant les bons, Et les méchants aux portes du juste.
20 Le pauvre est odieux même à son ami, Mais les amis du riche sont nombreux.
21 Celui qui méprise son prochain commet un péché, Mais heureux celui qui a pitié des misérables!
22 Ceux qui méditent le mal ne s'égarent-ils pas? Mais ceux qui méditent le bien agissent avec bonté et fidélité.
23 Tout travail procure l'abondance, Mais les paroles en l'air ne mènent qu'à la disette.
24 La richesse est une couronne pour les sages; La folie des insensés est toujours de la folie.
25 Le témoin véridique délivre des âmes, Mais le trompeur dit des mensonges.
26 Celui qui craint l'Éternel possède un appui ferme, Et ses enfants ont un refuge auprès de lui.
27 La crainte de l'Éternel est une source de vie, Pour détourner des pièges de la mort.
28 Quand le peuple est nombreux, c'est la gloire d'un roi; Quand le peuple manque, c'est la ruine du prince.
29 Celui qui est lent à la colère a une grande intelligence, Mais celui qui est prompt à s'emporter proclame sa folie.
30 Un coeur calme est la vie du corps, Mais l'envie est la carie des os.
31 Opprimer le pauvre, c'est outrager celui qui l'a fait; Mais avoir pitié de l'indigent, c'est l'honorer.
32 Le méchant est renversé par sa méchanceté, Mais le juste trouve un refuge même en sa mort.
33 Dans un coeur intelligent repose la sagesse, Mais au milieu des insensés elle se montre à découvert.
34 La justice élève une nation, Mais le péché est la honte des peuples.
35 La faveur du roi est pour le serviteur prudent, Et sa colère pour celui qui fait honte.

14 The wisest of women[a] builds her house,
but the foolish tears it down with her hands.
2 He who walks in uprightness fears Yahweh,
but he who is devious in his ways displeases him.
3 In the mouth of a fool is the rod of pride,
but the lips of the wise preserve them.
4 When there are no[b] oxen the manger is empty,
but an abundance of crops comes by the strength of an ox.[c]
5 A faithful witness does not lie,
but he who breathes out falsehood is a witness of deceit.
6 A scoffer seeks wisdom, but there is none,
but knowledge comes easily to him who understands.[d]
7 Leave the presence of a foolish man,[e]
for you will not come to know words of knowledge.[f]
8 The wisdom of the clever is understanding his ways,
but the folly of fools is deceit.
9 Fools mock[g] the guilt offering,
but among the upright, it is favorable.
10 The heart[h] knows the bitterness of its soul,[i]
but in its joy, it will not share itself with a stranger.
11 The house of the wicked will be destroyed,
but the tent of the upright will flourish.
12 There is a way that seems upright to[j] a man,
but its end is the way of death.
13 Even in laughter, a heart may be sad,
and the end of joy may be grief.
14 From his ways, the perverse of heart will be satisfied,
and from his own,[k] so shall a good man.
15 The simple will believe every word,
but the clever will consider his step.
16 The wise is cautious and turns from evil,
but the fool throws off restraint and is confident.
17 He who is short of temper[l] will act foolishly,
and the man who schemes will be hated.
18 The simple are adorned with folly,
but the clever are crowned with knowledge.
19 The evil bow down before the good,
and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20 The poor is disliked even by his neighbor,
but the lovers of the rich are many.
21 He who despises his neighbor is a sinner,
but he who has mercy on the poor blesses him.
22 Have they not erred, those who plan evil?
But loyalty and faithfulness belong to those who plan good.
23 In all toil, there is profit,
but the talk[m] of lips leads only to poverty.
24 The crown of the wise is their wealth;
the folly of fools is folly.
25 He who saves lives[n] is a witness of truth,
but he who utters lies is a betrayer.
26 In the fear of Yahweh, there is confidence of strength,
and for his children, there will be refuge.
27 The fear of Yahweh is a fountain of life,
in order to turn from the snares of death.
28 In the multitude of people is the glory of the king,
but without a population, a prince is ruined.
29 He who is slow to anger has great understanding,
but the hasty of spirit[o] exalts folly.
30 A heart[p] of tranquility[q] is life to the flesh,
but causes bones of passion to rot.
31 He who oppresses the poor insults him who made him,
but he who has mercy on the poor honors him.
32 By his evildoing, the wicked will be overthrown,
and the righteous will find refuge in his death.
33 In the heart[r] of him who has understanding, wisdom rests,
but even in the midst of fools it becomes known.
34 Righteousness will exalt a nation,
but sin is a reproach to a people.
35 The favor of a king is for the servant who deals wisely,
but his wrath will be on him who acts shamefully.
