13 智慧儿听从父训，
嘲讽者不听责备。
2 口出良言尝善果，
奸徒贪行残暴事[a]。
3 说话谨慎，可保性命；
口无遮拦，自取灭亡。
4 懒惰人空有幻想，
勤快人心想事成。
5 义人憎恶虚谎，
恶人行事可耻。
6 公义守卫正直的人，
邪恶倾覆犯罪之徒。
7 有人强充富有，
其实身无分文；
有人假装贫穷，
却是腰缠万贯。
8 富人用财富赎命，
穷人却免受惊吓。
9 义人的光灿烂，
恶人的灯熄灭。
10 自高自大招惹纷争，
虚心受教才是睿智。
11 不义之财必耗尽，
勤俭积蓄财富增。
12 盼望无期，使人忧伤；
夙愿得偿，带来生机[b]。
13 蔑视训言，自招灭亡；
敬畏诫命，必得赏赐。
14 智者的训言是生命之泉，
可使人避开死亡的网罗。
15 睿智使人蒙恩惠，
奸徒之路通灭亡。
16 明哲知而后行，
愚人炫耀愚昧。
17 奸恶的使者陷入灾祸，
忠诚的使者带来医治。
18 不受管教的贫穷羞愧，
接受责备的受到尊崇。
19 愿望实现使心甘甜，
远离恶事为愚人憎恶。
20 与智者同行必得智慧，
与愚人结伴必受亏损。
21 祸患追赶罪人，
义人必得善报。

因不公而被抢掠一空。
24 不用杖管教儿女是憎恶他们，
疼爱儿女的随时管教他们。

Wisdom Loves Righteousness
13 A wise son heeds his father’s instruction,
(A)But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.
2 (B)A man shall eat well by the fruit of his mouth,
But the soul of the unfaithful feeds on violence.
3 (C)He who guards his mouth preserves his life,
But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.
4 (D)The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing;
But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.
5 A righteous man hates lying,
But a wicked man is loathsome and comes to shame.
6 (E)Righteousness guards him whose way is blameless,
But wickedness overthrows the sinner.
7 (F)There is one who makes himself rich, yet has nothing;
And one who makes himself poor, yet has great riches.
8 The ransom of a man’s life is his riches,
But the poor does not hear rebuke.
9 The light of the righteous rejoices,
(G)But the lamp of the wicked will be put out.
10 By pride comes nothing but (H)strife,
But with the well-advised is wisdom.
11 (I)Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished,
But he who gathers by labor will increase.
12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
But (J)when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.
13 He who (K)despises the word will be destroyed,
But he who fears the commandment will be rewarded.
14 (L)The law of the wise is a fountain of life,
To turn one away from (M)the snares of death.
15 Good understanding [a]gains (N)favor,
But the way of the unfaithful is hard.
16 (O)Every prudent man acts with knowledge,
But a fool lays open his folly.
17 A wicked messenger falls into trouble,
But (P)a faithful ambassador brings health.
18 Poverty and shame will come to him who [b]disdains correction,
But (Q)he who regards a rebuke will be honored.
19 A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul,
But it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil.
20 He who walks with wise men will be wise,
But the companion of fools will be destroyed.
21 (R)Evil pursues sinners,
But to the righteous, good shall be repaid.
22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,
But (S)the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.
25 (V)The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul,
But the stomach of the wicked shall be in want.

pero el escarnecedor no escucha la reprensión(B).
2 Del fruto de su boca el hombre comerá el bien(C),
pero el deseo[b] de los pérfidos es la violencia(D).
3 Él que guarda su boca, preserva su vida(E);
el que mucho abre sus labios, termina en ruina[c](F).
4 El alma del perezoso desea, pero nada consigue,
mas el alma de los diligentes queda satisfecha.
5 El justo aborrece la falsedad(G),
mas el impío causa repugnancia y vergüenza[d](H).
6 La justicia guarda al íntegro en su camino,
mas la maldad trastorna al pecador[e](I).
7 Hay quien pretende ser rico, y nada tiene(J);
hay quien pretende ser pobre[f], y tiene una gran fortuna(K).
8 El rescate de la vida de un hombre está en sus riquezas,
pero el pobre no oye amenazas[g].
9 La luz de los justos brilla alegremente[h](L),
pero la lámpara de los impíos se apaga(M).
10 Por la soberbia solo viene[i] la contienda,
mas con los que reciben consejos está la sabiduría.
11 La fortuna obtenida con fraude[j] disminuye,
pero el que la recoge con trabajo[k] la aumenta.
12 La esperanza que se demora enferma el corazón,
pero el deseo cumplido[l] es árbol de vida.
13 Él que desprecia la palabra(N) pagará[m] por ello,
pero el que teme el mandamiento será recompensado(O).
14 La enseñanza[n] del sabio es fuente de vida(P),
para apartarse de los lazos de la muerte(Q).
15 El buen entendimiento produce favor(R),
mas el camino de los pérfidos es duro.
16 Todo hombre prudente obra con conocimiento,
pero el necio ostenta[o] necedad(S).
17 El mensajero perverso cae en la adversidad,
pero el enviado fiel trae sanidad(T).
18 Pobreza y vergüenza vendrán al que menosprecia la instrucción[p],
mas el que acepta la reprensión será honrado(U).
19 Deseo cumplido es dulzura para el alma,
pero abominación para los necios es apartarse del mal.
20 Él que anda con sabios(V) será sabio,
mas el compañero de los necios sufrirá daño.
21 A los pecadores los persigue el mal(W),
pero los justos serán recompensados(X) con el bien.
22 El hombre bueno deja herencia a los hijos de sus hijos(Y),
pero la riqueza del pecador está reservada para el justo(Z).
23 El barbecho de los pobres tiene mucho de comer(AA),
pero es[q] barrido por la injusticia.
24 Él que escatima la vara odia a su hijo(AB),
mas el que lo ama lo disciplina con diligencia[r](AC).

13 A wise son heeds his father’s instruction,
but a mocker does not respond to rebukes.(A)
2 From the fruit of their lips people enjoy good things,(B)
but the unfaithful have an appetite for violence.
3 Those who guard their lips(C) preserve their lives,(D)
but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.(E)
4 A sluggard’s appetite is never filled,(F)
but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.
5 The righteous hate what is false,(G)
but the wicked make themselves a stench
and bring shame on themselves.
6 Righteousness guards the person of integrity,
but wickedness overthrows the sinner.(H)
7 One person pretends to be rich, yet has nothing;(I)
another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.(J)
8 A person’s riches may ransom their life,
but the poor cannot respond to threatening rebukes.(K)
9 The light of the righteous shines brightly,
but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.(L)
10 Where there is strife, there is pride,
but wisdom is found in those who take advice.(M)
11 Dishonest money dwindles away,(N)
but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.
12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.(O)
15 Good judgment wins favor,
but the way of the unfaithful leads to their destruction.[a]
18 Whoever disregards discipline comes to poverty and shame,(Y)
but whoever heeds correction is honored.(Z)
19 A longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul,(AA)
but fools detest turning from evil.
20 Walk with the wise and become wise,
for a companion of fools suffers harm.(AB)

23 An unplowed field produces food for the poor,
but injustice sweeps it away.
24 Whoever spares the rod(AG) hates their children,
