十诫
5 摩西把所有的以色列人召来，对他们说：“以色列人啊，要留心听我今天对你们宣讲的律例和典章，要学习并谨慎遵行。 2 我们的上帝耶和华曾在何烈山与我们立约， 3 这约不是与我们祖先立的，乃是与我们今天还活着的人立的。 4 耶和华在山上的烈火中面对面跟你们说话。 5 那时，因为你们害怕那烈火，没有到山上去，我就站在耶和华和你们中间，把耶和华的话传给你们。耶和华说，
6 “‘我是你的上帝耶和华，曾把你领出埃及，使你不再受奴役。
7 “‘除我以外，你不可有别的神。
8 “‘不可为自己雕刻神像，不可仿照任何飞禽走兽或水族的样子造神像， 9 不可跪拜它们，也不可供奉它们，因为我——你的上帝耶和华痛恨不贞，我必追讨背弃我之人的罪，从父到子直到三四代。 10 但那些爱我、遵守我诫命的人，我必以慈爱待他们，直到千代。
11 “‘不可妄用你上帝耶和华的名，违者必被耶和华定罪。
12 “‘要遵照你的上帝耶和华的吩咐守安息日为圣日。 13 你一周可工作六天， 14 但第七天是你的上帝耶和华的安息日，你和儿女、仆婢、牛驴等牲畜以及你那里的外族人在这一天不可做任何工，好让仆婢和你一样得到休息。 15 要记住，你曾在埃及做奴隶，你的上帝耶和华伸出臂膀，用大能的手把你从那里领出来。因此，你的上帝耶和华吩咐你守安息日。
16 “‘要遵照你的上帝耶和华的吩咐孝敬父母，以便在你的上帝耶和华要赐给你的土地上享长寿，蒙祝福。
17 “‘不可杀人。
18 “‘不可通奸。
19 “‘不可偷盗。
20 “‘不可作伪证陷害人。
21 “‘不可贪恋别人的妻子，不可贪图别人的房屋、田地、仆婢、牛驴或其他任何物品。’
22 “这是耶和华在山上的烈火、乌云和幽暗中高声颁布给你们全体会众的诫命。此外，祂没有说别的。祂把这些话写在两块石版上交给我。 23 当时，山上燃烧着烈焰，你们听见声音从黑暗中传来。你们各支派的首领和长老都到我跟前， 24 说，‘看啊，我们的上帝耶和华向我们彰显了祂的荣耀和威严，我们听见了祂从火中发出的声音。今天我们已经看见，人听见上帝说话后还能活着。 25 但我们何必冒死，被这烈火吞噬呢？我们若再次听到我们的上帝耶和华的声音，必然丧命。 26 世上有谁像我们一样听见永活上帝从火中说话后还能活着呢？ 27 你去听听我们上帝耶和华所说的话，然后回来告诉我们，我们必听从、遵行。’
28 “耶和华听见了你们的话，就对我说，‘我听见了众人对你说的话，他们所说的都对。 29 但愿他们常常敬畏我，遵从我的一切诫命，以便他们和他们的子孙世世代代可以蒙福。 30 你吩咐他们回到自己的帐篷， 31 然后你再回到我这里来，我要把所有的诫命、律例和典章都赐给你，你要把这些传授给众人，使他们可以在我要赐给他们的土地上遵行。’ 32 所以，你们要谨遵你们上帝耶和华的吩咐，不可偏离左右。 33 这样，你们便得享长寿，并且可以在你们将要占领的土地上兴盛。

5 Entonces llamó Moisés a todo Israel y les dijo: Oye, oh Israel, los estatutos y ordenanzas que hablo hoy a vuestros oídos, para que los aprendáis y pongáis por obra[a]. 2 El Señor nuestro Dios hizo un pacto con nosotros en Horeb(A). 3 No hizo el Señor este pacto con nuestros padres, sino con nosotros(B), con todos aquellos de nosotros[b] que estamos vivos aquí hoy. 4 Cara a cara habló el Señor(C) con vosotros en el monte de en medio del fuego(D), 5 mientras yo estaba en aquella ocasión entre el Señor y vosotros para declararos la palabra del Señor(E), porque temíais a causa del fuego y no subisteis al monte(F). Y Él dijo[c]:
6 «(G)Yo soy el Señor tu Dios, que te saqué de la tierra de Egipto, de la casa de servidumbre[d].
7 »No tendrás otros dioses delante de[e] mí(H).
8 »No te harás ningún ídolo[f], ni semejanza alguna de lo que está arriba en el cielo, ni abajo en la tierra, ni en las aguas debajo de la tierra(I). 9 No los adorarás ni los servirás; porque yo, el Señor tu Dios, soy Dios celoso, que castigo la iniquidad de los padres sobre los hijos, y sobre la tercera y la cuarta generación de los que me aborrecen(J), 10 pero que muestro misericordia a millares, a los que me aman y guardan mis mandamientos(K).
11 »No tomarás en vano el nombre del Señor tu Dios(L), porque el Señor no tendrá por inocente a quien tome su nombre en vano.
12 »Guardarás el día de reposo para santificarlo, como el Señor tu Dios lo ha mandado(M). 13 Seis días trabajarás y harás todo tu trabajo, 14 mas el séptimo día es día de reposo para el Señor tu Dios(N); no harás en él ningún trabajo, tú, ni tu hijo, ni tu hija, ni tu siervo, ni tu sierva, ni tu buey, ni tu asno, ni ninguno de tus animales, ni el forastero que está contigo[g], para que tu siervo y tu sierva también descansen como tú. 15 Y acuérdate que fuiste esclavo en la tierra de Egipto, y que el Señor tu Dios te sacó de allí con mano fuerte y brazo extendido; por lo tanto, el Señor tu Dios te ha ordenado que guardes el día de reposo(O).
16 »Honra a tu padre y a tu madre(P), como el Señor tu Dios te ha mandado, para que tus días sean prolongados y te vaya bien en la tierra que el Señor tu Dios te da(Q).
18 »No cometerás adulterio(S).
19 »No hurtarás(T).
20 »No darás falso testimonio contra tu prójimo(U).
21 »No codiciarás la mujer de tu prójimo, y no desearás(V) la casa de tu prójimo, ni su campo, ni su siervo, ni su sierva, ni su buey, ni su asno, ni nada que sea de tu prójimo».
22 Estas palabras el Señor habló a toda vuestra asamblea en el monte, de en medio del fuego, de la nube y de las densas tinieblas con una gran voz, y no añadió más. Y las escribió en dos tablas de piedra y me las dio(W). 23 Y aconteció que cuando oísteis la voz de en medio de las tinieblas, mientras el monte ardía con fuego, os acercasteis a mí, todos los jefes[i] de vuestras tribus y vuestros ancianos, 24 y dijisteis: «He aquí, el Señor nuestro Dios nos ha mostrado su gloria y su grandeza, y hemos oído su voz de en medio del fuego; hoy hemos visto que Dios habla con el hombre, y este aún vive. 25 Ahora pues, ¿por qué hemos de morir? Porque este gran fuego nos consumirá; si seguimos oyendo la voz del Señor nuestro Dios, entonces moriremos(X). 26 Porque, ¿qué hombre[j] hay que haya oído la voz del Dios vivo hablando de en medio del fuego, como nosotros, y haya sobrevivido(Y)? 27 Acércate tú, y oye lo que el Señor nuestro Dios dice; entonces dinos todo lo que el Señor nuestro Dios te diga, y lo escucharemos y lo haremos».
28 Y el Señor oyó la voz de vuestras palabras cuando me hablasteis y el Señor me dijo: «He oído la voz de las palabras de este pueblo, que ellos te han hablado. Han hecho bien en todo lo que han dicho(Z). 29 ¡Oh si ellos tuvieran tal corazón que me temieran(AA), y guardaran siempre todos mis mandamientos(AB), para que les fuera bien a ellos y a sus hijos para siempre(AC)! 30 Ve y diles: “Volved a vuestras tiendas”. 31 Pero tú, quédate aquí conmigo, para que yo te diga todos los mandamientos, los estatutos y los decretos que les enseñarás(AD), a fin de que los cumplan en la tierra que les doy en posesión». 32 Y cuidad de hacer tal como el Señor vuestro Dios os ha mandado; no os desviéis a la derecha ni a la izquierda(AE). 33 Andad en todo el camino que el Señor vuestro Dios os ha mandado(AF), a fin de que viváis y os vaya bien, y prolonguéis vuestros días en la tierra que vais a poseer(AG).

5 Moisés reunió a todo el pueblo de Israel y les dijo:
«Escuchen, israelitas, las leyes y decretos que hoy voy a comunicarles. Apréndanlos bien, y pónganlos en práctica.
2 »El Señor nuestro Dios hizo una alianza con nosotros en el monte Horeb. 3 No la hizo solamente con nuestros antepasados, sino también con todos nosotros, los que hoy estamos aquí reunidos. 4 El Señor habló con ustedes en el monte, cara a cara, de en medio del fuego. 5 Yo estaba entonces entre el Señor y ustedes, para comunicarles la palabra del Señor, ya que ustedes tenían miedo del fuego y no subieron al monte. Y el Señor dijo:
6 »“Yo soy el Señor tu Dios, que te sacó de Egipto, donde eras esclavo.
7 »”No tengas otros dioses aparte de mí.
8 »”No te hagas ningún ídolo ni figura de lo que hay arriba en el cielo, ni de lo que hay abajo en la tierra, ni de lo que hay en el mar debajo de la tierra. 9 No te inclines delante de ellos ni les rindas culto, porque yo soy el Señor tu Dios, Dios celoso que castiga la maldad de los padres que me odian, en sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos, 10 pero que trato con amor por mil generaciones a los que me aman y cumplen mis mandamientos.
11 »”No hagas mal uso del nombre del Señor tu Dios, pues él no dejará sin castigo al que use mal su nombre.
12 »”Ten en cuenta el sábado para consagrarlo al Señor, tal como el Señor tu Dios te lo ha ordenado. 13 Trabaja seis días y haz en ellos todo lo que tengas que hacer, 14 pero el séptimo día es día de reposo consagrado al Señor tu Dios. No hagas ningún trabajo en ese día, ni tampoco tu hijo, ni tu hija, ni tu esclavo, ni tu esclava, ni tu buey, ni tu asno, ni ninguno de tus animales, ni el extranjero que vive en tus ciudades, para que tu esclavo y tu esclava descansen igual que tú. 15 Recuerda que también tú fuiste esclavo en Egipto, y que el Señor tu Dios te sacó de allí desplegando gran poder. Por eso el Señor tu Dios te ordena respetar el día sábado.
16 »”Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, tal como el Señor tu Dios te lo ha ordenado, para que vivas una larga vida y te vaya bien en la tierra que te da el Señor tu Dios.
17 »”No mates.
18 »”No cometas adulterio.
19 »”No robes.
20 »”No digas mentiras en perjuicio de tu prójimo.
21 »”No codicies la mujer de tu prójimo. No ambiciones la casa de tu prójimo, ni su campo, ni su esclavo, ni su esclava, ni su buey, ni su asno, ni nada que le pertenezca.”
El temor del pueblo(B)
22 »Éstas son las palabras que el Señor pronunció en voz alta, de en medio del fuego y de una nube espesa, cuando todos estaban reunidos al pie del monte. Después ya no dijo más, y escribió estas palabras en dos tablas de piedra, y me las entregó. 23 Pero cuando ustedes oyeron aquella voz que salía de entre las tinieblas, y vieron el monte en llamas, todos ustedes, los jefes de las tribus y los ancianos, vinieron a hablar conmigo 24 y me dijeron: “Verdaderamente el Señor nuestro Dios nos ha mostrado su gloria y su poder, y hemos oído su voz, que salía de en medio del fuego. Hoy hemos comprobado que Dios puede hablar con los hombres sin que éstos mueran. 25 Sin embargo, ¿para qué exponernos a morir consumidos por este terrible fuego? Si volvemos a escuchar la voz del Señor nuestro Dios, moriremos; 26 pues, ¿qué hombre hay que pueda escuchar la voz del Dios viviente hablando de en medio del fuego, como la hemos oído nosotros, sin que le cueste la vida? 27 Mejor acércate tú, y escucha todo lo que el Señor nuestro Dios te diga, y ya luego nos dirás lo que te haya comunicado, y nosotros cumpliremos lo que se nos diga.”
28 »Mientras ustedes me hablaban, el Señor estaba escuchando lo que decían, y entonces me dijo: “He oído todo lo que ha dicho este pueblo, y me ha parecido muy bien. 29 ¡Ojalá piensen siempre de la misma manera, y me honren y cumplan mis mandamientos todos los días, para que tanto ellos como sus hijos tengan siempre una vida dichosa! 30 Ve y diles que regresen a sus tiendas de campaña; 31 pero tú quédate aquí conmigo, porque te voy a decir todos los mandamientos, leyes y decretos que les has de enseñar, para que los pongan en práctica en el país que les voy a dar en propiedad.” 32 Así que pongan en práctica todo lo que el Señor su Dios les ha ordenado, sin desviarse de ello para nada. 33 Sigan el camino que el Señor su Dios les ha señalado, para que les vaya bien y vivan muchos años en la tierra que él les va a dar en propiedad.

5 And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them.
2 The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
3 The Lord made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.
4 The Lord talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,
5 (I stood between the Lord and you at that time, to shew you the word of the Lord: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,
6 I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
11 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.
13 Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.
15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the Lord thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the Lord thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.
16 Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
17 Thou shalt not kill.
18 Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
19 Neither shalt thou steal.
20 Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.
21 Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's.
22 These words the Lord spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.
23 And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
24 And ye said, Behold, the Lord our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.
25 Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any more, then we shall die.
26 For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?
27 Go thou near, and hear all that the Lord our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the Lord our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it.
28 And the Lord heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the Lord said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.
29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
30 Go say to them, Get you into your tents again.
31 But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.
32 Ye shall observe to do therefore as the Lord your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
33 Ye shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.
